i think i'm going for a nikon dslr... a lot of friends got them and are very satisfied.. altough my little pocket-cam makes (considering that it's only a pocketcam) quite nice pictures. but you soon reach the limit and there's no way of experimenting. my chromevader-shots took to many tries to achieve the wanted results (and still i'm quite proud of them - specially the first one)...

THIS IS MY FAVORITE SET! why? there are some reasons: i love the "dark side" ot i love stormtroopers: and i'd kill for stormtroopers with printed legs i love the amount of minifigs included i love a little less the design of the shuttle i love the scene in the movie i consider myself lucky to have one and an extra 4 stormies with printed legs. unfortunately the box of the set is a little damaged but the manual and shuttle and the rest is still in very good condition. very well done review with nice pics and fun to read! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=fenris1310

Hi all, yesterday i had some time and took lord vader out of my ikea-sammla-box for a little photo shooting. The chrome one, tricky to shoot, but nice if it works. I figured out some new tactics against my all-time-chrome-vader-photoshooting-enemy "reflection of unwanted objects" (e.g. me, my kitchen table, the camera, my cat, my hand,... and plenty more...) and thats the result: hope you like it!

@commander rob: my picture is dark - and it's meant to be like that. shadow trooper shouldn't be in the sunlight too much... if it's too dark, it's because of different screen settings. your endor shots are nice. it's hard to take shoots in the sun, specially with white minifigs but with "plastic" in general. i like the idea of the "hidden" ewok in the first pic. as already stated you should avoid houses, tables and other real stuff in your pictures and maybe clean your minifigs before taking them to a photo shooting... @smokebelch: great work as usual, great effect with the "lightning"... and the 3 different colours with the chrome-stormies are great. specially all 3 togehter...

A new shot of my shadowtrooper team called "out of the dark".. a team-leader with a sniper and an anti-tank soldier.. A problem with this "dark" shots is that you never know how "dark" they appear strongly depending on your screen settings. I have two monitors and the shot looks quite different on each of them...

Definately worth a load of supplementary pictures. Please! It's one of my future projects to enhance my ILC more, up to date i just made some minor changes... Yours really looks a lot better than the one from TLC. Great work! The original with only space for 4 troopers doesn't really satisfy... 10 at least. SO yours obviously has space enough for a little invasion. And the look is so "star wars". Congratulations! Have you made a side door? thats the second thing i'm really missing in the original... If you don't mind, i'll post my humble mods here too...

Thanks a lot for the idea! Actually, after loosing all what was left of my nervs and beeing really frustrated when I was looking on my shots on my computerscreen and seein myself and the camera on the pics I did something like this but: I took a black paper, cut out the size of the lense and attached it to my pocket cam on the front (I'm sure it's not quite clear what i mean..so ill make a little drawing - worked out pretty well... i've downsized the qualitiy and changed the contrast so that you can see what you shouldn't: my hidden camera: i'll have another go with no little dust things on it... lessons learned from makro-photography... but it was still ahrd to figure out at which angle the stormies will reflect the best... but i like my bath-tube background..smooth and white...

Keep this extraordinary work on. The way you take the pictures makes it really look like in the film - just the LEGO version... It's a great project!

you should have heard me when i was shooting my chrome vader... the last thing you want to see as a reflection is your camera! great work on the chrome-stormie as usual! and thx for reviving this thread a litlle. apparently there are most comments if it's you who posts a new chef d'oeuvre (and i know why - your pics are by far the best!)

considering how difficult it is to have all the details and proportions in a mini-model i'd say both are very well done! i'm too inexperienced to give you any tips how to improve them - but i like them the way they are!
-
i got mine all "used" and they are still fine... maybe there's a difference with different lots... i tried the warm water - refitting trick and it worked well with the ones that where a little "hang my head"... thanks for the tip.

Great work! Looks fantastic. I love minis... The idea with the small clones is great to. And the pics are great too.. nothing more to add. You captured all necessary details. Prbably took you some time to figure out...

[MOC] AT-ST from the Endor set 8038 modified into a two-seater
fenris replied to Lars's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very well done, looks great! I actually don't like the new AT-ST a lot but with this modification i might even reconsider my opinion. When i'll get my Endor I'll certainly follow your pics to adapt mine in the same way. -
i specially like the photo with the long corridor and the attacking droids on the far end! well designed, nice little story. good job!
-
i fear that there's no danger that tlc will remake all the ties... i'd love it, but it's not what i would call highly probable... anyway, you've got a really nice set and it's worth should be rising...

I think the book is a great idea and i can't wait to get hold of one. The minifig that goes with it is a nice incentive, but i'd love to have pics of all the figs not only on a computerscreen but in a real book. Makes somehow a difference... maybe it's a little frustrating to see all the figs that are still missing in my collection though...

Thank you very much for this really well done and nicely commented review of this great set! Now I've got a problem - or actually two: where do i get the money from for this set and where could I put my MF once it's put together if poker god's are good to me today... It's definately one of my favourite ships from the OT and the designers did a great job... the details in some parts are amazing!
-
@skipper: nice shots! yoda perfectly fits into the place. it's amazing, sometimes the are locations for LSW pics where you would have never thought of just close to your home... would be interesting to see a pic of the place where you took your pictures. for outdoor-shots endor-style i alway take a walk in the park close to my home (and i do not care about people thinking i'm a retard with a camera and some lego figs ) the first pic is the best imho. @lonely sotmtrooper somewhere in the desert: good idea! i know the "wind problem". it's really annoying after some time...

one of the best reviews 've seen so far... great work. thx a lot. no questions left. have to buy this set!

actually i'm very happy tha TLC doesn't use any blue in the new darth-vader tie - i'm a big OT-fan and have only imperial ships but never bought a tie for the blue in it... now, i've git the new tie and i'm happy with it. nice review!
