A Forestman took a break, and sat down with his dog looking out into the sea. He was unaware that he was sitting in a popular spot for bandits to ambush their victims. Or was he? 'twas my first Castle themed creation, though it was built for another purpose, ( ) so I thought i'd see how the Forestman would look in it. Thanks for looking.

Hope this wasn't posted already, but two Flickr members are hosting many images of what looks like a few new themes, mainly "World Racers" and "Kingdoms", aswell as a few City pics. See here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/45850206@N06/ And here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/benlego/ I won't embed any since they have the Preliminary mark on them. Edit: My bad. It was already posted.

Well. Looks like this theme is certainly trying to pull me back in. And its doing a fine job.
-
Oh Boy. There goes my love for any other theme, yet again. I don't know how you do it, but there's something about your creations that force me back into Town Building. Cheers. Seriously though, I love the bar scene. It looks more cosy than small. Those palm trees in the restroom are wonderfully used. And I just can't stop glaring at the facade. Surely there's a subliminal message in it... somewhere. My love for "Al's" will never go. Especially those mean looking men with a fine taste for alcohol. And, sorry for the late comment.

Wow, thanks for the early review. Those new pieces will be greatly welcomed, once they're featured in many, smaller, cheaper sets.

Happy Birthday Hinckley, Mr, Mandalorian and Mr Spielbrick
Skinny Boy replied to Professor Flitwick's topic in Community
I suppose I should try and get a "Happy Birthday" in before Striker comments again. Have a Birthday. (the "Happy" costs extra) -

Petition: We want the Pirates Advent Calender in the United States
Skinny Boy replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
Don't sign. Man, what a bunch of whiners. -
Ki-Adi-Mundi went through some odd phases after his supposed death on Mygeeto. His attempt to prove Blondes do not necessarily have more fun went well, in his opinion. I honestly didn't know where to put this. If its not suitable enough for here, I'd appreciate it being moved. Thanks for looking!

Cool, didn't know about this topic. The Ps3 I have can play Ps1 games (but for some reason not Ps2 ones... ) I don't know if the different versions have model numbers or anything, but mine was gotten last Christmas, and is a 160GB, so it was not the earliest version. Maybe you could look into the slimline version coming soon, though i'm unaware of what features are to be expected. I'd say you could get any model Ps3, and a cheap Ps1. I got one for around 30 Euro with many games about a year ago. Don't know much about PSP's. But they can be very fun at times.

I hate to sound rude, but I'm not surprised about United Brick. (wasn't he banned before?) The building looks better, but still very well kept. The vehicle, well right now is irrelevant. They don't really have a place, unless you incorporate them into your modules (apologies, I know its hard to do with only 16x16 studs to use). As others have said, it doesn't exactly look like a wall, more of a cliffside. What sort of approach were you going for? You know, you really ought to be running this. But, I only disliked the "hillside" aspect of Black Rabbit's module. Everything else was great. And he hit the nail right on the head with the fence. It was simple, used few pieces, and was very creative using the crane as a lookout. Yes, please continue with that fence design. Alright, so walls, walls, and more walls Ice Cream. Fresh from the Cow! What shall we do about 'em? I'll post some stuff tomorrow to give an idea of what we wanna see. But think about it, what does the wall really need? - To be higher than a minifig (duh) - To be the length of your module (duh) - To roughly link up with the next module's wall - To be able to stop any and all future nuclear bombs No, it doesn't. Its after the apocalypse. Its made of whatever's lying around that people can spare: (in lego piece terms) Tiles, crates, doors, turned over vehicles/immovable objects, ruins of buildings One of the main things which pushed me to propose this project (after the Castle one, of course) was that after the Apocalypse, everything looks like crap. Like I said in my first topic, asking if others wanted to join in: And like I've said a zillion times, a wall standard wouldn't be the opposite of an advantage in our case. It would make evrything look too much alike, taking away so much. I think i'll PM a MOD to remove all of United Bricks posts. Really clogging up the place. Once again, thank you, and goodnight.

I'm confused. Are you still building section 28, or just looking for a 32x32 section? Right now, we're trying to keep things simple, so would you rather build the town entrance? Well, somebody's definitely in keeping with the Castle Builds' inspiration. That house looks pretty well kept to be built from scratch, especially with two storey's. IMO, you ought to rethink it. As for the map change, that was a consideration. I just thought people wouldn't have enough baseplates to do so, and we'd get a few people who'd just wanna build a wall with nothing else. The standard isn't exactly important. The wall is makeshift, built from scrap (funny, i'm getting Déjà vu right now). Built from anything and evrything the survivers could find and spare: scrap metal, wood, half destroyed cars, whatever you want. And like I said earlier, it gives people a chance to be creative, such as landscape features being taken advantage of. You bet your sweet Post Apoc Mecha it will. But for now, you're down for 14+15. Now, I didn't get everybody else in. Some people didn't specify what they were building, and others contradicted themselves with previous and later words. My school is coming along nicely. Only a few sneak peeks on Flickr at the moment, but I hope to get some good pics in a few days.

Heh. I suppose i'll add my own. 'Twas a warm sunny day on Earth. A nuclear war happened. Some survived, some didn't. The End. I don't know if this is a sort of competition to see who can write the best page-turner, but I thought people would prefer to have much more freedom to build and think whatever they want. After the discussion topic's polls, I thought people were sorted. There was a Nuclear war, we're located in a small ruined town, the least wanted beings were Aliens etc. Later in the topic people thought it better not to limit ourselves to a country. Why should we? When everything is destroyed, what difference would it make? Its not like there would be any national landmarks in this small town, nor anything that would instantly tell people what country it is. And its not like the raw materials of certain countries would dramatically change the appearance of the town. I'm pretty sure there is soil, sand, wood and stone just about everywhere. As for countries who started the war, why give people the opportunity for negative stereotyping? Why label a certain country as: "the meanies who dunnit"? After an event like this, nobody is trusting nobody. So why point all fingers at one place? But, continue. Just thought i'd give my 2 cents. The only results I'm expecting to see are a piece of a National Landmark used as a wall section, and a hangout for a club devoted to hating those who started the war.

Hmmm. Interesting. I was going to slot you in right away, but Bats did give a good point. I love those scenes where people at different levels are fixing up a machine, and it would be nice to see one here. Once its not a machine capable of flying long distances with enough firepower to undo the Apocalypse, I think it'd be pretty cool. To slot 14!

Hey Ezechielle. Glad you joined. Hope you share some of those great creations here. Welcome to EB!

Coming Soon to BrickMaker Customs
Skinny Boy replied to tin7_creations's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Great stuff Tin7. Hope you make some more, and good luck with selling them! Click the link provided, and click "How to order". -
Put you on the west side, since Batty pwned the East. Polish Guy: Would you mind taking #24 instead? If so i'll put Batbrick down for #23 afterwards. People, start throwing out some ideas. I've made a list under all the proposed stuff and i'll add 'em to it. So if you can't think of anything to build, have a look through it.
-
Not enough to judge yet. You really have no good in you. At all.
-
Heh. I just watched "Dogma" the other day. Gotta love the cast of each of those films. Nice representation. I think i'll go watch it now.
-
Okay, think I got everyone. Not yet. For connecting sections, I reckon just getting technic pins/holes in every corner possible. The wall is completely makeshift, and depending on what is accompanying it on the same module, (ruins of an old building, immovable rocks) they will all look pretty different.
-
Alrighty then. Shall we get started? Note: This post (The very first one) will be edited pretty much every day, to cater our plans. Not everything and everyone can be considered at every moment, so be patient. Here's the current map: Okay, lets revamp this whole thing. Proposed buildings, 32x32 sections: 1 - Gatehouse/Entrance to town (agiven) - ? 5 - ? - Eskallon 11 - Outpost and weapon Supplies - Perterz 20 - ? 26 - Small Farm - Black Rabbit 31+32 (?) - School/Town Hall - Skinny Boy 33 - ? Wall Sections, 16x16 Modules: (remember, as with the Castle Build, these will be 16x16, consisting of a wall, and an aspect of the town. Not just the wall) South: 2 - ? 3 - Lookout Post - Jammiedodger714 4 - Graveyard - Eskallon 27 - ? 28 - Ruined wall section under reconstruction - Ricecracker 29 - ? West: 6 - ? 7 - Ruined wall being rebuilt/scrapyard - Skipper 24 8 - ? - Legoman31 9 - ? - Legoman31 10 - ? North: 12 - ? 13 - ? 14 - Mecha (a Post-Frickin-Apoc mecha) workshop - Adam 15 - Most likely more Mecha Workshop - Adam 16 - ? 17 - ? 18 - House - Admiral M 19 - Garden - Admiral M East: 21 - ? - BatBrick 22 - ? - BatBrick 23 - ? - BatBrick 24 - Garage - Polish Guy 25 - ? Interior 16x16 modules: 30 - ? 34 - ? Ideas: (no inspiration? maybe try building something from below) Sherriff's office Cult hangout Makeshift Monument Kitchens Unexploded Warhead Now, you post with your own, and i'll add them on. Try to only post what you think is feesable. What either yourself, or others can actually build. Have a good look at the map. Remember, everything will be inside the walls (except maybe a scene or two on a wall section) I think i'll PM everyone just to make sure. Don't let this build die!
-
I don't really see that we do. Nuclear war - destruction - people find a town - fortify it - happily ever after. I'd much rather see some building than writing. Thats too bad that you might not participate. But I do hope we can inspire you. Ok folks, time for a new topic, and to really get things moving, i'll post every proposed building/module/scene/whatever, along with the current map. After some calculations, Thrash can mix the map up a little. New topic Away!
-
Dang. Should've checked this topic earlier. Thanks for that Thrash. Looks great so far. There will be some fiddling with it (though I would like to keep with the whole "castle" layout, since there was some sort of apocalypse, I figured the town hall or whatever the primary buildings are would be a little more scattered. looks good for now). But woops, I already started building my school, but on 2 32x32 baseplates. The facade looks pretty good so far, and I plan to blow out as much of the back and inner walls as possible for visibility (and the whole "apoc" thing ). I'll probably post a pic or two in the morning, too hard to shoot some now. The whole issue of rebuilding and such: The poll says there was a Nuclear war, so, there must have been one. I'm no expert on Wars, epecially nuclear ones, but something wouldn't seem right about only using Nukes. Other bombs that destroy, but not every last little piece could have been used, leaving ruins of buildings. These ruins are inhabited, somewhat fortified with scrap and they all live, happily ever after. That's my 2 cents. But here's my fiver: When I thought of this project, I had never thoguth of something that would fit the purpose of the "keep" from the Castle Build. A town hall might have some guards, but its no place for important people to sleep safe at night. Maybe Admiral M's church could be used for such a place. Or take the high road and send everyone to the safest place in town, The Winchester Black Rabbit: I honestly couldn't see this going places with nothing but rubble to build from. Remember, its a small town. There weren't that many buildings to begin with. Oh well, i'll keep building this school whether it fits or not. Having too much fun with it. Goodnight everybody.
