Just finished watching Savage Planet with my friends; it will be uploaded to youtube later tonight or tommorow. Some thoughts:
-
The most likely scenarios to me are these following three: 1. Reapa is the sixth Hero who was poisoned/corrupted and turned into a villain. 2. The sixth hero simply was not listed on the store's website, and we will see pictures of him/her at a later date along with the others. 3. There is no sixth Hero; Furno takes over for Stormer who resigns/changes teams, and they decide to keep the team as is. this also works with the fact that there are five known villains and heroes. Also, several friends of mine will be recording Savage Planet when it airs Sept. 5th on Nicktoons. I will post a link once it has been uplodaded for your viewing pleasure.

Perhaps; ideally we should wait until pictures surface, but I see no reason for a thread not to be created now. -Mesonak

Dino set listings found here; Link. Individual set listings; T-Rex Helicopter Transport Hideout of Coelophysis Pteranodon Case Hunt for the Raptor Dinosaur Research Station Encounter with the Triceratops Looks to have much promise, despite being vehicle-based. Let's hope pictures surface soon!

2012 Hero Factory set names have been found by yours truly; unlike the "lists" we've been shown before, these come from a legitimate site that featured the 3.0 names months before release; Link. A search for Hero Factory should bring up the results. Obviously there's someone missing, because there are only five heroes (unless one of the other sets is a new hero, which I heavily doubt.) Individual set listings; Breez Evo Surge Rocka Furno Jawblade Splitface Thornraxx Black Phantom Toxic Reapa I'm kind of in a daze at the moment because I didn't expect to come across these so late in the night; I'm going to get some shut-eye and come in fresh tommorow with my thoughts! Hopefully pictures will surface soon to accompany these names.

Interestingly enough, after doing some digging, I located another one of those style of videos on the Cartoon Network website. On this page, you can view a humorous video where Nuckal and Kruncha attempt to steal the golden weapons. -Mesonak

If you're looking for BIONICLE-style deisgn, you're out of luck; that connection system has, more or less, been pushed to the backburner in favor of the new build system introduced with Hero Factory 2.0. The titans, however, have many technic pieces, namely Witch Doctor, Fire Lord, and Rocka XL. -Mesonak

Which 2011 second wave sets are you getting?
Mesonak replied to exxtrooper's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Personal opinion? Save up $5 more and spring for Witch Doctor. Scorpio's a jumbled mess of a design, and Rocka XL's far from excellent as well. Witch Doctor has a great array of technic and HF parts which make for a wonderful parts selection. As far as deciding between Scorpio and Rocka XL, I'd go for Scorpio, just because of all the bone pieces and lime/black armor shells. Not to mention that lime spike piece! -
Picked up Witch Doctor today; I was not disappointed. After building the set and having it in front of me, I can definitely see many things that some would consider problems. The technic doesn't mesh well stylistically with the HF building system, he has no eyes, his staff is short and looks much like a wand, and his torso armor does not cover his torso well. Not to mention the fact that his legs can't bend at the first knee joint. Despite all of that, he still ranks as my favorite humanoid set since Takanuva '08. There's a great level of complexity in his build that we haven't seen since Titan Mata Nui, and as far as pieces go, he's a goldmine. The mask looks wonderfully villianous, and the color scheme is commendable; red pins actually accent his red highlights well, unlike other sets where they stick out like a sore thumb. The technic, while it does conflict with the smooth and streamlined HF parts, strikes me as a true "skeleton", while the Hero Factory armor is just that; sleek armor that fits over a mechanical skeleton. It works much better for me in person than what I had assumed from pictures, and I don't consider it a major flaw. What I do consider a flaw, however, is the fact that his legs are permanently fixed forwards due to the odd articulation. He can do the splits, and he can kick his legs forward or backwards, but they will always be positioned towards the front. Having great ankle articulation helps with posability, and he can still get into some pretty menacing poses, but he's definitely not viable for those that enjoy playing with their sets. He strikes me as more of a figure that I would keep as display, and that's where he excels; he's massive, and looks wonderful when posed next to other Hero Factory (or even BIONICLE) sets. The whole theme of the set (skeletons, voodoo, etc.) is a winner in my book, and despite the high price tag, I'd recommend him to anyone. He definitely has a number of flaws, which I can't ignore, but I don't think they weigh heavily enough (at least to me) to classify him as a failure. -Mesonak

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
Mesonak replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't suppose that someone saved the picture with all the weapons and the new Hero Factory part? This new series of minifigures looks quite nice; I'm very partial to the genie and alien. -
If what this person says is to be taken at face value, SuperHeroes is going to be an ongoing theme (with an ongoing series of Constraction figures) that will not replace Hero Factory. Following the links I was given, I came across this interesting bit in the Marvel announcement: I wonder if there will be more buildable figures past this first series. Logic would dictate so, but if so, that means this will possibly be an ongoing series. Just thought I'd pass this on.

I enjoy the head and torso, though the mata red Bohrok shield contrasts with the metru red on the top of the legs. Speaking of the legs, they're well done, though simple. I like the feet. Moving on to the arms, I much prefer the left arm to the right one, despite it being a bit cluttered. The double blades look nice and fit the MoC well. As far as the right arm, normally I would hate a Mantax head being uses as a claw/hand, but on this MoC, it doesn't seem to bother me. My suggestions; get rid of the two color contrasting bohrok faceplates on the torso. Despite silver being on the MoC as a somewhat prominent color, I don't think it looks well on the torso. The same with the mata red one, though much moreso. Replace them with black ones or swap them out for another piece entirely, and I think it'll make the MoC look much better.

I don't suppose you could clue us in as to whether Hero Factory will be running alongside this come 2012, or whether HF has been canned in favor of this? That's the question that I really need answered, because I just don't see these sets as a viable replacement for HF.

Aside from the odd-looking heads, I fail to see how they can be compared Megabloks.

I'm impartial to these, though not a fan of them overall, especially Hulk. I welcome the prominent return of Medium Green with open arms, however. I also find myself liking Iron Man and Batman in spite of myself. Perhaps it's the recolors. I worry about the price, however. Obviously it will be higher than normal due to the fact they're licensed, but taking Ben 10 into consideration, I fear a $20+ price for these guys. I hope these do not replace Hero Factory in the 2012 lineup; all signs point to Hero Factory continuing, but I can't help that lingering feeling in the back of my head that tells me Lego doesn't need two superhero themes.
-
Well, for those who enjoy Hero Factory (like myself), the amount of recolored pieces here is stunning. Far better than Ben 10. I fear the reaction this will draw from the AFOL community at large, however. I'm impartial to these large-sized figures; a great source of recolors for fans of Hero Factory, but poor sets overall, and a bad representation of the license. Especially Hulk.
-
I fear that by "buildable figures" they mean Constraction Figures, ala Hero Factory. In which case, I suppose they could make figures for all the DC/Marvel characters. I would prefer similar sets to the toysrus Buzz/Zurg, though, so I'm hoping that's what they mean. This is very exciting news; I've been hoping for something along the lines of this for years.

Contrary to some of you, I think this is the best version of Furno. His design is ingenious and fits with the Hawk motif, he has good pieces (though not as many armor pieces as 2.0), and that helmet is ingenious. I enjoy the lack of armor on the upper legs, and think it adds to his character. Good review; poor Rotor!

This image was recently extracted from the HeroPad on http://herofactory.lego.com. You can find it there under the name "Concept Art"; presumably they were going to release it later via promotional code. Looks very interesting, and shows off the intended feel of the Savage Planet; I remember the symbols and clusters of eyes well, from the prototype canisters/box art. Of note are the altered Raw-Jaw and Fangz designs; while awesome now in their own right, it's a shame how much potential was wasted (in my opinion of course). Also of note is the mata green-looking hero swinging from a vine in the top of the upper-left panel. Looks very interesting, and I wish it was released.

Rise of the Rookies had the Atlantis movie as a bonus, and it wasn't added to the running time. I predict Savage Planet will be 88 minutes long.

The set definitely does not look worthy of a $20 purchase; I think I'll wait for a sale before I pick him up. The gappy torso and unneeded variety in the legs overshadow the creativity of him as a whole. While great for a parts pack, I'm not too pleased with him as a set. Excellent review as always, however; and I enjoyed the MoCs at the end.
-
I love it, personally. But perhaps I'm just easy to please; I never find much to complain about in Hero Factory, even though I know there's plenty there.
-
It aired in the beginning of April if memory serves. A few friends of mine uploaded it to youtube here, if you're interested in watching it.

Interesting; any chance you can upload a picture?
