  1. Ok. This sounds like it would be helpful. Thanks, Nathan
  2. I added the comments in MLCAD but it still is showing double the amount of pieces I need. Do I need to ghost some parts? Yeah. The code I provided earlier is when I add the submodel to the main model with a buffer exchange. Never mind. I typed in the wrong code on accident. It worked. Thanks all.
  3. Here is the code for the one submodel that seems to be the major problem: STEP STORE A PART-SUBMODEL ARROW ARROW ARROW ARROW ARROW STEP RETRIEVE A PART-SUBMODEL STEP
  4. Now that I looked at it closer it appears that it doubled all the pieces for mainly one specific submodel. It also doubled three other pieces. They were all in buffer exchanges. I think that is the problem.
  5. Now I have a new problem! Some of the pieces I used were in a buffer exchange. These pieces are shown in the BOM in LPub with a 2x next to them. The problem is that I only use those pieces once! For example it says I have two motors, but I only have one. The motor is in a submodel and then added into the main model with a buffer exchange. I think I must have done something wrong during that process. It happened to several pieces though. When I go to the step they are added in, it says you only need one of them in the PLI like it should. Why does it show 2x in the BOM if I only have one of them?
  6. I figured it out. What I did is I took the subparts that made up the NXT and made them into a submodel in MLCAD. Then I added that submodel to the main model and ghosted it. Then I added a normal NXT from MLCAD and put it in the same exact position as the submodel so it looks like there's only one piece. When I opened up the file in LPub I just clicked 'Ignore this Submodel' for the NXT submodel. It worked after that. The NXT was one complete piece and the subparts of the NXT were ghosted. Thanks for all your help.
  7. LPub BOM from SR 3D Builder I have recently completed a project in SR 3D Builder and MLCAD. When I opened the file in LPub, the NXT was split up into several different parts in the BOM. Is there a way to show the NXT as one complete piece in the BOM? Thanks, Nathan
  8. I am making a model in MLCAD and I was wondering if there is a way to zoom in on a step. As my model gets bigger the image is shown farther away. Is there a way either in LPub or MLCAD to zoom in on a step to only show a specific section of the model? Thanks, Nathan
  9. When you are making models in SR 3D Builder, do you add steps in SR 3D Builder or MLCAD? Also, do you make groups?
  10. That worked! Thanks, Nathan I opened up the file in MLCAD but I'm not sure what to do. Do I need to add steps in SR 3D Builder before I import because I can't add them between specific parts in MLCAD? It just shows the groups I made in SR 3D Builder. Also is there a way to add a buffer exchange in MLCAD? Again, I can't see individual parts. Should I delete the groups I made in SR 3D builder?
  11. Ok. That's what I thought. Thanks, Nathan I tried to open the file in MLCAD but every time I do it gives me a runtime error and shuts down MLCAD. How do you open the SR 3D file in MLCAD?
  12. Hey. I have recently created my first model in SR 3D and I want to create building instructions for it. I have seen that a lot of people just import it in MLCAD to use LPub, but I saw in SR 3D builder that there is something called Instruction Miner. Why do people not use this? Is it not as good as LPub? Thanks, Nathan
  13. Ok. I'll do that from now on. Thanks, Nathan
  14. Could you just build the whole model in SR 3D? Does it not work with LPub?
  15. Ok. I'll start working. Thanks, Nathan
  16. Maybe I will need to do that.
  17. I do have a few buffer exchanges in it. I hid the pieces that were floating along with the arrows while I was building so I wouldn't get confused.
  18. My OS is Windows 7. I have MLCAD 3.4 and SR 3D Builder 0.7.3.12. My project does have submodels but it already is a .ldr file. I don't think I am using any unofficial parts either. What seems to happen is when I import the file, it keeps all the submodels together but puts them in the wrong places. So it isn't as much the pieces out of place, it appears to be the submodels. Here is my project: RoboArm Shooter.zip
  19. Hi. I am finishing up a project in MLCAD and I am trying to import it from SR 3D builder because I heard SR 3D builder works well with aligning Technic pieces which is what I am having a problem with. I have never used SR 3D builder before but I opened it up and imported my MLCAD model to it. When my model got there, everything was in the wrong place. Does this always happen? How can I make it import correctly? Thanks, Nathan
  20. I noticed the rotation boxes were grayed out for me too. I fiddled with it but I couldn't get to enter anything.
  21. That worked great. Thanks, Nathan
  22. Hey. I am building a technic model in MLCAD with two Bionicle Ball Magazines(53550). To connect them I use an Axle Joiner(59443). The problem is that the ball magazines are naturally curved. I can't get the axle joiner to rotate to the correct spot. Is there a way to rotate an object besides the buttons? Maybe something where I can type in how much I want to rotate a piece? Then I can get the axle joiner to connect to the two ball magazines Thanks, Nathan
