  1. I like that box art! And I found another article too-http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=50157
  2. I liked the Metru Nui names. The first three years had the Maori feel, to match the mysterious tropical island with all sorts of climates [like New Zealand]. The names then were simple but still sounded great and told you a bit about the character [Pohatu has a really solid sound, Gali's name flows, and so on]. Then, when the setting switched to Metru Nui, the big somewhat futuristic city, it seemed to me that the naming conventions became more modern and urban to match the city with the introduction of n's and m's into the sound- Dume, Orkahm, Lhikan, Kodan, Tuyet, [you may notice that some of these names were introduced later, I like how the naming for the Metru Nui stayed the same], to an extent Nivawk- but some names still retained the Maori-ness to show that it was Bionicle- Nidhiki, Krekka, Nuhrii-. And then the setting changed again, to something like Mata Nui but harsher. The names kinda went downhill. We saw the introduction of x and z to the names, and they became based off real words a lot. We got Vezon, Teridax, Chirox, Pridak [there's nothing I dislike more about the names than the -ak in them], Avak, Zaktan, Antroz, Vamprah, Hydraxon, Defilak, Dekar[who I thought sounded like some sort of fish racer at first], Gorast, and so on. Names were nicer when they fit the setting.

    Davros

Thanks for the comments, everyone! And Spielbrick, it's nice to have another Doctor Who builder on this forum. But would you believe it? I changed the wheelchair about an hour after I took the pics- so now you'll get to see some new Lego Davros! In a bit, of course. Now if only some of you would post in my Colonial Viper topic...

    Davros

Well, I don't actually have any of those heads- the only Star Wars fig I have is a red Clone from the small walker set.
  5. Well, the Topic Description is wrong! I just did build a Viper Mark II! And it comes with Starbuck [who is a girl]! On to the pictures. The Viper MkII Back View Bottom view [with landing gear out] The cockpit Gun close-up Empty cockpit The Viper and Starbuck Landed, engines turned off Soaring off into space The gallery - when public Ta-da!

    Davros

Well, here is Davros! Pics are a bit big, I'll try to resize them later. The Creator of the Daleks The back of The Creator of the Daleks The Creator and his Creation, the Dalek Another view of the Creator of the Daleks 'Daleks do not know the meaning of pity.' Well, there he is! Ta-Da!
  7. Blehhh. Drop the X and I'd have liked it so much more. Terida. Sounds better. Or Teridar. Teridan.
  8. Now what was that, Clonie?
  9. No idea. I think Shakar made some sort of obscure reference.
  10. New poster that explains why there is a gold ninja sword in one of the new sets- Check it out! Though why didn't they use a cutlass for it...
  11. I agree! First, it's my favorite of the three, second, it does so have iconic vehicle scenes, third, it has no Nazis and the near-dirty parts are a completely minor part of the film so it'd be truer to the films setwise, and fourth, I want that fig too! But hopefully they've realized their mistake and are saving TOD for a possible year two.
  12. Hurray! And what a coincidence- that was the exact torso I wanted for Eccleston. I like him and Pete, though the eyebrows on Pete seem a bit strong. Though I must say the ears are virtually non-existent - a significant deviation from the source material. and you're doing Jack and Mickey! YAY!!!!!!!! Sorry.
  13. Hey, gang. Found a screenie of Mola Ram- Tra-la-la!
  14. Bah. Prepare for a bit of a rant. Storyline. Good, sometimes. I admit-no, I say- that Greg can do some good stuff- I've really liked the serials, especially Federation of Fear- but I don't think the problem is his writing. I say the problem is the crap he's handed. Like these new vehicles. It's just been shown that Pohatu and his posse can fly, and now they need vehicles. Can't see any good way out of that hole. But we'll still blame Greg, not the bloody focus groups. "Oooh it shoots! Me no want build, me want shoot! Take to long to build! Stickman will kill! Shoot shoot shoot!" Or the crapulous Toa Terrain Crawler. A centipede that shoots things and has a hatch. Stupid concept. Back when the sets were consistently good, the story was good too, because Greg or the other writers could do logical things with sets that fit together. But sometimes that's not the case. Like Hydraxon. Apart from being a now-standard big guy, he was a good set. But the ridiculousness of his ressurection- oh he was turned into him by the ignika from dekar! that makes sense!- was Greg's fault. Just off-hand- actually ressurected, pulled up by Matoro under Makuta's influence, anything could be better. The storyline itself it flawed, screwed over by the sets, but when sets don't matter- like Greg's short story, where all characters were either three years old as sets or non-corporeal, the story improves. Too bad Greg's said that he can't bring non-set characters into Karda Nui. Silly name. But the sets suck.
  15. They're also availble in Canadian TRU's, I got my Battle Wheel there a couple days ago.
  16. Here are a couple more ideas: Surreal Eurobricks- Build the forum [not the people, not a mosaic of what it looks like on your monitor, a LEGO manifestation of the forum] and make it as surreal as possible. Include at least one fig building a door to go through. Fix Bionicle- We've seen the ToyFair pics. It explains itself. Ship in a Bottle- Build a ship and put it in a bottle, real or LEGO, somehow.
  17. I'm seeing in that article references to the Sankara stone and Willie Scott! Yay! Temple of Doom! And these references to climbing and swinging make the game look more fun, but I wonder how that part'll compare to Assassin's Creed... It had better be available for PC...
  18. Green Day vs. Oasis- Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Wonderwall
  19. I bet you all 5 EuroBricksBrickBucks that Makuta's name is either Zovzixaxzah or Sh4d0w1ord_666. Five, count 'em, five, EuroBricksBrickBucks. Tempting, hmm?
  20. Tee hee. I like you. You're funny. Welcome to Eurobricks! Assymetrical arms? Avtoran limbs in canister sets? Instead of adding differences like with the Mata, like with the Mahri? Masks that don't even mock what they're supposed to be? Tahu's ninja blade? The thought that, if you were a Makuta, you'd transform into something less stickfigureish? Welcome to modern Bionicle, just when I thought the Phantoka were good.
  21. Of course you can! I don't really care about this, evil Wal-Mart... There's also TRU and Zellers, for starters.
  22. Whatt? I may be a Castler and Bionicle....erm... -er, but I liked Exo-Force too, and was just beginning to genuinely like this year's line. So the bottom line is... Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Eid, Diwali, Festivus, Thanksgiving, Valentine's day, St.Patrick's day, Halloween, birthdays, and possibly Viking-Force are cancelled.
  23. Well, I brought you Viking-Force, didn't I? And there's the rest of my MoCs and my opinion... I'll get back to you on some more.
  24. Alright, here are some of the images resized for you picky people... Front Back Catapult detail The handy-dandy-standy-space 'You're fired.' Ta-da [again]!
