Nope! :-D The size of the helmet actually has more to do with the material used than with a feature. The feature I'm talking about ... well ... focus on the eyes...
-
Nope - they aren't in a mini fig pack. They're in the Arkham set that will be a TRU exclusive.
-
Good eye - you're the first that I've seen to mention the Bat-cuffs! No bowler hat for Riddler that I saw when I was there in CT. Personally, I'm a bit tired of seeing him that way all the time and think this minor change is perfect for the character. blue&white wrote: I've seen it up close and in person Blue&White. While it doesn't look the greatest in the photo, seeing it in person makes all the difference. I was really impressed. There's a hidden little secret on Batman - it has to do with the way they pulled off the cowl.... Anyway - I think you'll be pleased when better pics become available.
-
No problem - it's a common mistake when discussing the two entities. I see that you're familiar with the Shogun Warriors spelling of my screen name - very nice! :-D What other questions do you guys have?
-
I think maybe you're confused. Toyfare - the magazine, published by Wizard, is where the pics are shown currently. Toy Fair - the event (there's one currently going on in Hong Kong - one later this month in the UK and one in Feb in New York) is a trade show where companies show their upcoming merchandise. Make sense?

I don't mind telling what I can at this point - obviously as release dates get closer, we'll all be able to talk more freely. I also don't want to hijack this thread by discussing all the other stuff I saw. What's the best way to talk about it here? Should there be seperate threads (one for Spongebob, one for Avatar, etc) or just one general thread about the new product?
-
Why, no..... *twisted* Actually, yes - I'm working on my own 'mini' batmobile.
-
One in Omaha Nebraska.
-
Our (the community group's) focus has really been on Batman up to this point - if you guys are interested in hearing about Spongebob, I'll find out what I can tell about this line too.
-
The sets were very good - I had questions about how the figs would be pulled off, since the characters from the show have pretty distinctive looks. They came out very good - better than I expected actually.
-
Found all of these at TRU yesterday. I really want the black racer - mainly for parts, lol.
-
Nice review of the world of Spongebob. I went in, not expecting to care much about any sets but Batman, but when I saw the Spongebob stuff... :oD

It was confimred by this site. Thank you - didn't know that was out yet. :-D

That's true. I saw it all - as did the ambassadors I was there with. Since I'm relatively new to this (and in talking with another friend from LOG who is a longtime AFOL) I've learned that many AFOLs are looking at new sets to see what pieces are 'new' or can be used differently. Some of the ambassadors I was there with expressed this sentiment as well. Is it common in the LEGO community to look at sets, not as the set but as pieces to be used elsewhere?

Who said there would be a Batcave? Or are you talking about the horrible one that C3 put out? I can tell you that one sucked. It was three levels - the base plate was warped and kept the bricks from attaching correctly. This threw off the other two levels. It wouldn't stand unless the parts were superglued together - not very modular or fun IMO. I ended up tearing mine apart and building something else entirely. Here are a few shots of my 'rebuilt' cave (hope it's ok to post 'em here - if not just lmk and I'll remove 'em): These photos were taken before I had all the miniflyer sets. Since I'm planning on taking them down soon, I really don't see the need to reshoot the photos. :-D
-
I can tell you for a fact that those are not the sets. The batwing shown in that pic is the C3 miniflyer - it's an Art Asylum/Playalong product - not LEGO.
-
I can't say much about the minifigs *yet*. *twisted* I can tell you I was really impressed by all of them. Let me put it in perspective for you. I'm a big minimate fan, so I'm kind of familiar with minifigs in general. I prefer the AA minimate stuff to say, Kubricks as an example, simply because of the design & articulation. I only have about 5 Kubricks. However, I have all of the DC 'mates and all but 2 of the Marvel 'mates. All the exclusives, chases, blanks, etc. I've branched out as a result of my addiction and purchased the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon 'mates, Dark Angel, and many of the LOTR 'mates. As you can imagine, I've got quite a few. :-D I've built a custom Batcave based on the C3 set that was released (it's been customized because the C3 set didn't stay together - defective base plates that were warped) & I've got all of the C3 sets that were released. That said, once I get all the Batman LEGO sets, I'll be putting away my minimates & C3 stuff.

This was another very cool line that I'm really looking forward to in '06! LEGO is getting SO MANY of my future paychecks....the wife is gonna kill me! ;)
-
I don't *think* that there's a problem with discussing the colors - yellow vs flesh - but just to be safe, I've asked Jake and Steve for the official OK. I'll post here as soon as I get an answer for you!

I'm glad there's so much anticipation for this line. Maybe an introduction is due? I'm Reideen1313 btw - it's my blog that you linked to - thanks! :D I'm certainly not a LEGO expert like the other guys that made the trip - I was there for the Batman aspect of things. I've owned and run my own comic shop, I'm very active in the Batman community - I'm one of the guys that runs Legions of Gotham and I have an extensive knowledge of Batman's history thru his various incarnations over the years. But, enough about me! The statue is incredible. My eyes just about popped :oo out of my head when I first saw it. It's 12 feet tall! Like Ace mentioned on his site, it will be making the rounds this year to promote the line. If you note, the face on the bottom corner is the Joker - another very cool detail that is easy to miss if you aren't looking for it! :-D Any other questions?
