I completely agree with this post. More competition means better prices (see US example) and it's not at all true that this will lower the quality of the products...

nobody really mentioned the great: 8858 AUTO ENGINE (or 858 engine) Maybe because of it's rarity not too many people had the opportunity to put their hands on, but i can assure you, it was and it is a great set. This is really my favorite. I guess 80% of technic enthusiast are full on on engines and stuff...so this is THE set.

Orange Lambo... but a serious Technic one, not like the supercar racers sets without suspensions and gears...third differential and why not...a micro motor to raise the air intakes!

Can't dig out my sets now from the storage, but I clearly remember a sort of addition somewhere of the instructions where there were some models that you could have made out of 2 sets, such ex. 853 +852 and in this regard i remember a sort of trolley... By the way, Brick factory was having an awesome FTP server, where you could download the scans in few minutes rather than opening page by page. Does anybody knows where is it gone? FTP folder does not open anymore...

this make business sense...but a little gift to the AFOL that follow it's technic series with so much love could justify a UCS set.

I actually think that many AFOL out there might be the future "official way" of building from TLC...who knows maybe in 5 years the Technic set will have a turn in style...

Only the Star War saga has, I believe, the adequate number of adult AFOL (much bigger than technic in absolute numbers) able to sustain a UCS collection with 4000+ pcs and a retail cost of 300$+, that is the reason probably. I also would love to have bigger and more complex sets, nevertheless i have to admit that the last truck 8258 for example is already at the par with MOC's around the AFOL world, same goes for all the flagship sets in the respective year...

Awesome, also nice color combination, reminds me of the sopwith camel and the wright maiden flight sets.
