  1. Sorry CM4s, I wasn't aware there was another topic on this thanks for showing me! Tariq j
  2. Hi all I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask this but I'll ask anyway, apparantly according to brickepidia ninjago is scheduled to continue in 2014, has anybody else heard any rumours like this and if so what are your thoughts/comments and opinions on it? Tariq j
  3. Hi, apparantly there is some sort of starfighter featuring cad bane I'm not exactly sure what it's called but I know it's meant to be released in 2013 but in the UK it isn't in stores, does anyone know when it's coming out? Tariq j
  4. Another option is TLG has no place to put rare figs such as amidala so they put them into sets that they are closest to. I also think that Lego are putting rare figs in sets so kids are tempted to buy them, for example if you take the CATD if you remove jango then the minfigure line for that set is practicaly useless as both the clone and droid come in other sets. That said however,Alcarin is definately right about some choices being illogical in my opinion because it is phisically impossible for jango and a clone to be in a set together because by the time the clones come to rescue the Jedi jango is dead. In TLG's defence though it's aimed for kids so they won't be looking around every aspect of the set making sure it's exactly movie accurate. As a big lego star wars fan I do quite like accuracy to the movie as much as possible for the sets, but as I've said before it's aimed for kids. Thanks Tariq j
  5. Thanks urbanErwin For the reply hopefully that's what it is thanks Tariq j [quote name=gratefulnat' timestamp='1371996891' post='1626941] Thread title -> random minifigures I'd guess it's a random picture of minifigures... although it does look like an index sign, the link goes only to the picture. Someone with moderator powers is probably just playing an innocent joke on you in regards to your thread title. I think it's pretty funny , and shows a good sense of humour. greatfulnat, I have to say myself it is quite funny however I'm sure I've seen it in other threads in the star wars forum thanks Tariq j
  6. Hi all, Last week I created a topic in the star wars forum called "random minifigures" and later when I checked it had a picture of c-3po and r2-d2 on, not that I'm complaining or anything but I was just wandering how they got there. P.S. Apologies if this question has been answered before. Tariq j
  7. the first option would be great and I would personally do it that way because it's easier. Another option would be to use lots of clingfilm for the water. Hopefully that helped you, best of luck! Tariq j
  8. Same here, since they released doctor who CB sets have been in almost every toy catalogue. In my opinion I think a very interesting point and question is raised here, which is, do you buy a set based on quality or price? Basically if you had the choice between purchasing Lego or a clone brand would you look at the quality or the price? Personally I would look at the quality and choose lego because I am paying a expensive price but for good quality. Thanks Tariq j
  9. Hi Alasdair ryan, thanks for the video and website. Its a very good design and I'm sure it will help me motorise the sail barge. thanks Tariq j
  10. Hi all, I've noticed recently how TLG have really lowered the amount of moterised sets these days so my question here is have you motorised a non motorised set? For me I have tried motorising quite a few sets (unfortunately though I havent been extremly succesful!) I have though managed to motorise the republic frigate so the escape pod deploys automatically. I am planning on motorising the sail barge so it can roll on wheels so its RC(but that will take along time!) Thanks Tariq j EDIT: apologies if this belongs in the community forum.
  11. Suprisingly the minifigures are okay and better than I expected, they were molded more had molded clothes but lego figs have double sided heads so its hard to dertermine which ones are better.
  12. What really annoys me is when kids are looking at a set through a cabinet and your trying to look at it as well but you cant move forwards and the kid is just standing there not moving. Tariq j
  13. Hi lego freak, having thought about it I think it is nice to get really rare figs. But what really annoys me is when TLG put really common figs in sets such as the 2010 AT-AT. Lego decided to put in c-3po and han solo. Meaning lego fans have to pay more because of common figures. It took TLG about five years to realize that han solo and chewbucca and c-3po werre not featured in the battle of hoth then this year they released another battle which was finally accurate. Anyway, all I'm saying is its nice when you get rare figs but its not good when you get common figures. thanks Tariq j
  14. I went to the lego shop in bluewater and purchased the mandalorian speeder and luke and vader magnets.
  15. No, sorry, I havent seen them but I read somewhere they should come out in june in TRU. thanks Tariq j
  16. I'm not sure whether CB uses ABS plastic like lego but the quality of the plastic is good. As for the sets themselves the quality,as far as I know, isn't that good. The tardis playset that I mentioned above isn't very good in most areas. The stairs and the console area can tilt or collapse when you put a figure on it due to the lack of support, the walls on the sides arn't very stable and can break if mis-treated. The instructions on the other hand are very good as they highlight the pieces that need to be used. The stickers are also good because they include doubles so if you were to make a mistake then you had an extra sticker. thanks Tariq j
  17. Hi all, has anyone noticed how random minifigures are put in random sets, for example I can never recall a scene where jango is fighting alongside a corporate allience droid. I can never recall a scene where poggle the lesser is with dooku when he fights yoda. Are TLG doing this because they have no other interesting figures to put in or have they just seen pictures from the movies and so they are mistaking scenes. thanks Tariq j
  18. Sorry, my fault what I meant was TRU would have released the sets on the 5th or below and they should be in stores by now. Apologies for the confusion, Tariq j
  19. Hi Markus 1984! This is a brilliant creation and is a thumbs up! You must have spent ages building this. Tariq j
  20. They came out on the 1st of june so they will probably reach TRU by about the fifth probably, maybe less.
  21. Hi Jargo, thanks for the reply. I think your definately right about the doctor who 50th anniversary, which is probably why the sets are getting bought more often. As for the prices IMO I think the prices are much cheaper than TLG for example the tardis mega set is £29.99 on http://www.character-online.com/products/Character-Building/Doctor-Who/TARDIS-Console-Room-Mega-Set/ which is worth about three planet sets in the star wars range. Its also worth a 3 -pack magnet set in lego. I find this amazing as that set is the biggest set. thanks Tariq j
  22. Hi all, I went to my local toy store today and, to my shock, found that about half the lego aile had been taken up by character building sets. And worse, when I went to the till lots. of kids were purchasing CB sets rather than lego. So my question here is, Is character building getting more popular than lego? What are your thoughts/comments and opinions about this? Thanks Tariq j
  23. Sorry! I wasn't aware this thread was here until now. Thanks for showing me! As I said in the other thread my worst is young boba fett because of his hair and face expression Having looked through the character encylopidia I also felt the 2005 general grievous was not a huge sucess on TLG's part either. As for my favourite, it. would probably be emperor palpatine from the death star. Thanks Tariq j
  24. Hi all, since about 2002 since I started collecting lego star wars lots of people have asked me about the worst star wars minifigure that I thought had been produced. In my opinion one of the ones I could think of first would be young boba because his hair didn't suit him and his face could have been more serious looking. So what is your worst SW minifigure? thanks Tariq j
  25. In my opinion there are several sets which I quite disliked: The 2011 advent calender because there were some awful builds such as the tie fighter. - jabbas palace 2002 because it looked nothing like it and the trapdoor led into the droid area. -the twilight because there was no interior.
