Awwwwwww... Scruffy's kettle would turn all gray-reddish right now if he were here! name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">As much as I would love to have a lengthy discussion about deep emotions and the usual bitching which is almost always associated with such, I'd better go back to my economic history books now... It's mutual tho - even though you don't really qualify as "new" (as aptly noted in your EBCTC entry... )

Did my counting of votes by chance spoil anything... again? P.S.: Voting has obviously been closed for some time and there were no instructions as to proceedings after that, apart from what the winners should do. So there you go. But Hinck, just go ahead and delete my post if it's a problem.

Congratulations to koffiemoc, svelte_corps and Eti for winning the top honours! Great entries guys, and thoroughly deserved success for each and every one of you! A big THANK YOU goes out to WhiteFang for organising this contest and for getting us all feel so passionate about it... not to mention the great prizes. It's a real pity you couldn't enter your MOC mate, but I still look forward to seeing it soon! I've had tons of fun participating in this contest, which has been a first for me since coming out of the dark ages. Asya and I both enjoyed this whole thing very much and we're very grateful for the support EB members have shown by voting for us, despite the fact that our entry could have been quite a bit better given more time. Thank you guys, your support has been extremely inspirational and we're both chuffed - to say the least. Once again, thanks for this great event :] Now then, let's vote for those EB members' entries, shall we? Oh and by the way... can't wait for the next contest

Thoroughly agree with Hinckley here. (good dog, I know, I know ) If you're setting this up for your own pleasure & viewing, then I'd say the alleyway / "numero dos" design lends the whole layout a much better town-feel. I for one am planning on doing something of that kind for our first compact town layout, once we find time to build some more modular structures and set up our railways. Courtyard, street with corner, a few buildings and a park... should be nice for a start. However, if your question is about a public display, then option number 1 would definitely be more impressive for the viewer. Whatever you choose, make sure you post the final result once you've set this thing up. I'm sure it will look great, congratulations for reaching the "final layout" phase with that display - I know you've been planning it for quite a long time :)

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I was hoping this might help a bit, even though it's a solution for trains not buses: http://iltco.org/library/docs/CloseCoupling.pdf (Thank goodness there's ILTCO :) )

Murder on the Emerald Express: Discussion

Have I also managed to do THAT in such a short time? ...Wow, I must be a total pain in the arr! I'll make sure I leg godt from now on; plus, I won't be posting half as much over the next few days, so things will get a chance to get back to "normal". If there is anything normal about Willoughbie, that is. -

Point taken. I'd seen that happen a number of times before but obviously I copied the wrong example. Sorry for that. Feel free to disregard my last posts @ MOTEE 6C. Not that it matters that much, but please bear in mind that I haven't played any other online role-playing games before. As much as I would like to always play it by the book, obviously there's times when things get out of control. I'll try to avoid that in the future. -
/game aside: Good to know that all the racket I'm making is actually having a positive effect on your character's health, ISC If Rerman rere is roing to reep watch, I ruess you ron't need me here... I'm off ratch some RZzzZzs. * disappears somewhere behind the barn *

Hey hey, I'm planning on turning that kettle into something BIG here!!! and "racket" in scruffyish can mean an awful lot of things. I wouldn't get too optimistic if I were you -

Great to be able to welcome you here as well Matija! That has got to be one of the most impressive builds I've ever seen... period. (oh.. and... I love the yellow )

* After a while, Scruffy gets tired of watching - and trying to take part in - the action... Apparently, carrying around a kettle in your mouth does not help if you wanna be subtle * * Lays down kettle * Ris is reggining to ret a rit roring... hey ruys... ruys? Rerman? Huh, resh air rorks ronders for you city-rwellers, roesn't it * Apparently, everybody is already sound asleep and the only thing that can be heard is Bulldog's snoring, which however doesn't seem to bother anyone. Jethro never returned with those blankets or the moonshine - but it isn't as if anyone stayed up waiting for him. * Rell... I ruess I'll be keeping ruard tonight... * Yaaaawn... * or rot... * Lies down next to his kettle just beside the barn and takes a look at the weary travellers * * Yawn *...... rut I have to say... if rat there thing can actually pass as a rohnson rod... * yaaaaaawn *... then ris rettle o'mine rould make a rerfect racket... ///Edit: Asterisks...

Adrian, it's a crying shame you didn't bid on that last one... My advice: set up a PayPal account. It costs next to nothing and is extremely useful if you want to buy things over eBay and not go through the entire hassle of international bank transfers. @CP5670 - at a price of ~20 EUR I would rather try and get what I can than pass up such an opportunity. Besides, if you think about it, had the seller had sufficient time (and desire) to photograph what he sells in a proper way, he would also have found some more time to think of a better title. And btw, Olog is right, there are much more clicks related to queries such as "lego eisenbahn" or "lego 9V" than to specific sets. However, that only applies to Trains and with any other kind of LEGO it's the other way round where set numbers are of utmost importance. In any case - since this is my first post in this thread and I'd like to at least TRY and stay on topic, I would like to congratulate Adrian for his enthusiasm... I have recently started setting up a 9V layout from scratch, so I can pretty much relate to his highs & lows Best of luck with that 12V hunt of yours and do share the result when you get one done :)

* Scruffy sleepily looks up at the window * Rure thing, Rulldog. As rong as I keep the rettle tho. I ron't rink alcohol, so it rould be safe with me.

Was going to ask the same thing. Guys, one more thing - don't forget that we have to be AIMING at something here. Saying the first thing that comes to mind isn't of much use when we're trying to make friends with the local farmer & his son and ensure a) our own survival, b) a way of getting on with the journey. Did I say we? I meant "you". -
* Bulldog looks out the window and notices Scruffy lying on the porch with the kettle alongside him. Hmmm, alcohol has multiple uses and in this weird adventure we're in, it's never a bad idea to have something to ease the pain... or make you forget. Scruffy shouldn't really mind carriying around a FULL kettle, as long as he's still got it... *

Ruff! I'm staying rout, I know ol man Jeb roesn't like rogs in his house.

I'm certain there's a whole lot of people (and that includes teams as well!) wondering what is exactly going to happen next season... Budget cap or not, there will most definitely be more teams that want to take part in next year's season than available spots! Would be real fun if Mosley & Ecclestone let the Formula 1 enthusiasts vote which 10 teams get to participate... That reminds me, I know some of you guys are avid LEGO Town fans, so why don't you head over to the Trains & Town section, check out the Classic Town Contest and vote for your favourite ;] You can find the links in my sig... Anyway, I was thinking -- at the end of this season, both Rubens' and Jenson's contracts with Brawn GP are due to expire. Do you guys think they'll stay put? I would imagine that most "big" teams are keen on snatching Button, now that he's proven he's not just another mediocre driver. I personally would love it if he stays with Brawn, but wouldn't a potential move to Ferrari be too great to resist? What do you think?

You can still find some 9V bargains on eBay if you look hard. I bought 12 pieces of straight track and 40 pieces of curved track plus 2 switches, a speed controller & all the stuff necessary to run this layout for ~40 EUR a week ago...

* Herman comes to once again and realizes that noone is licking his wounds... it had all been just another flash of wishful thinking... then he passes out again * * I don't lick anybody's wounds, unless I have a feeling of guilt for causing them in the first place." Rough ruck, Rerman. You rould have seen that roming to you tho. Much as I "rike" ol man Jeb here, I can't remember him inviting you to ransack his roperty. Be more careful rext rime you rop in someone else's rable uninvited and start roopin around! * Comes slowly through the gates of the stable, dragging along a package of bandages * You ruys should really start ristening to me more... Aryway, ol' man keeps his rarden shed retty tidy. Rood thing I know where he keeps rese. I think you rould find em useful, but ron't rell him who you rot em from. * Puts bandages down next to Herman's head, then heads on out of the stable. Proper bandaging should stop the bleeding, however clumsy hands might induce even more damage here, causing Herman to lose an additional 1 life point... I guess now you'll have a chance see who your real friends are, Mr. Richwell! Suddenly Scruffy freezes at the gates as Farmer Jeb finally steps into the frame... * Jeb: What the ruck is goin on here!!!

[scruffy talk on]Ro I smell romething? Ah, yes, the unmistakable scent of rurning flesh and rorduroy... [/scruffy talk off] Capn Green Hair, that reminds me of one of my ol' hockey coaches... the fella had a torn apart pair of trousers which would hardly offer any protection - and would most of the time hang on to his belt by a single (recently sewn together) thread. But he believed those pants were his lucky charm, so I guess we all need a pair of those (and, let's face it, what better way to baptise a set of trousers as your lucky pants than applying the trusty method of trial-by-fire?) * sorry for being off topic...
