  1. Very nice work Woody. Very true to the painting
  2. Im actually using an HP printer at the moment. I use glossy photo sticker sheets to print on. And the final touch is to add a coat of varnish or ardcoat to protect the stickers from smudging.
  3. Vig. 91a A French dipatch rider bringing orders to a Captain and his men at the Battle of Wagram A French dispatch rider. Grenadiers of Line Company and Drummer
  4. This is really impressive. Great detail on the gate and its always a nice topic to build something from your hometown. I look forward to seeing the completed moc
  5. You can feel free to use them. I will often use the games workshop paints as i find their colour range matches the lego colours closest. and using some hardcoat varnish on the paint and over the decals adds a nice shine and protects them well from scratching.
  6. Heres an interesting site you might like to look at http://napoleonistyka.atspace.com/infantry...eon_3.htm#irish by the way nice custom figure
  7. Yeah ive started to add them onto the end of the photos.
  8. Ive just painted the white trim on the hat. The badges are made in ms paint then i use ms word to shrink them down to size.
  9. Yes that is a head from TLC. It was from an old adventure set. The indian man who sat as a guide on an elephant i think it was. As for the plumes i use pipe cleaners. I started using them a while ago after visiting a local craft shop. I had been trying to think of a good way to make the plume decorations for some time and when i saw the pipe cleaners they looked perfect. The choice of colours is huge, they can easily be cut to size and the wire in the middle makes them sturdy enough for play. Also as you can see they fit nicely into the lego headwear in the spot you normally put the feather plumes.
  10. Yes i can see wou mean . I mite see what they look like with tan legs instead. But yellow is more accurate to their uniform.
  11. My army of frenchmen are continuing to grow in number. So Napoleon has ordered some new Military police troops to deal with troublemaking soldiers. These are Gendarmeries who served as the military police in the French army after the Revolution. Their major differing feature from other french troops was the yellow waistcoats and trousers.
  12. It really depended more on the period in history what was worn. Tricorns were worn by most armies, by officers and other ranks through most of the 17 hundreds. During the Seven years war and American Revolution, they were seen in all armies. Apart from Grenadiers who wore tall Mitre hats. From the French Revolution onwards a number of armies wore Bicorns. The problem with these Tricorns and Bicorns was that when new, they were fine, but after some time on campaign with rain and even snow piling up on them they would often droop down around the ears. The shakos i believe originated out of Hungary and during the first years of the 18 hundreds they quickly replaced Tricorns and Bicorns in most armies. They were much more practical as the toughened leather would provide more protection from sabre cuts. They had a visor to shield the face and eyes from the sun, and inside were loops and straps to carry personal items.
  13. We are not having much luck here in oz. Not many sets are to be seen in QLD stores. Target here has only had the impulse sets and Brickbeards Bounty. Toys r us has impulse sets and the cannon battle. I still havnt seen any other sets on the shelves
  14. Its a custom Design i made
  15. My new custom pirate captain.
  16. Ha Ha true about the smiling officer. I think i will change his head.
  17. These are some of my new custom figs. The Brunswick regiments who fought during the Napoleonic wars had quite a cool uniform with the deaths head badges on their shakos and black horsehair plumes. They got the nickname the Black Legion. They fought under wellington at Waterloo as part of the anglo-allied army. Im looking at making some more of these smaller German state soldiers from this time.
  18. Nice work again Hound Knight. The Details on the Decals are spot on. These guys look ready to fight in a revolution
  19. Vig. 89b Well i have got the pirate building bug again. This is the pirates hideout on a rocky coast. The old hanging tree is the landmark they lookout for to find this spot.
  20. This is a great custom figure Houndknight. I like the tartan pattern.
  21. Excellent work on this napoleon figure. I like how you did his greatcoat
  22. Yeah i think i mite next try it with transperant bricks. And i will try some alternate parts to get the angles on the inside of the wave better.
  23. Vig. 90c I was a bit bored and decided to try and make a quick pirate moc. I wanted to get a wave which used a nice barrell design. Its a first test with the cuved bricks. It propably still needs a bit of refining but i think it could work well.
  24. These are great figures. Good work on the decals too. It is always a hard figure to create hussars, mainly because of the 2 coats they would wear with the second one worn off the shoulder. If you want some hats for the troops check out www.shapeways.com and search for woodys designs. Ive found these to be pretty useful.
  25. Yeah i used a brown pole(lightsaber and cut it in half). To attach the drum i made a strap which was attached under the sticker decal on ths drum. I also used sticker paper for the strap so it held it in place better on the torso. It was cut long enough to wrap over the shoulder and down the back again. And the ends are inserted between the torso and legs. If you would like some pics let me know and i will post them.
