Exellent MOC. I really like these small beaches surrounded by rock, especially when they come from such a landscaping artist as you. You just had to do something with those big doors after SlyOwl used them as a dock, didn't you? The mix of browns on the building looks great and I'm really digging that little canon post.

Aliencat - a Dutch Lego Ambassador - said on LowLUG (Dutch LUG) that they will not be cheap plastic. Whether that's an official statement from TLG, I don't know... -

Before we start assuming this to be 'true': I don't see that at all. And the clown which has its arm in the same position clearly doesn't have that. All minifigs look perfectly fine to me. -
1. I tend to agree, although this kind of detailing is still fine for me, it shouldn't get any more detailed. Then it would look out of place. It's all a matter of personal opinion. 2. Sure, I was just pointing out that some minifig accessories are more detailed than others and some are almost as detailed as Brickarms' accessories. 3. As was said before, the prototype is metal, the actual production run will be plastic. 4. I like what you did to your avatar

I guess this further proves my point. I for one am not too interested in the space guy. As long as TLG presents a nice assortment, I might not be that hard to find a trading partner. -
This is really amazing ISC. I knew you were up to something when you started that topic on Western figures recently. I really like the color scheme of both buildings. The 'Green Grocer' bricks work really well on the sheriff's office and look good when combined with the white roof. But my favorite part has to be the wooden balcony structure on the saloon. Finally, a really 'Classic' Town (Blogged! )

... is that on pre-order? Nice locomotive. The end-result looks simple (in the good sense of the word... your style, set-like), but looking more closely it indeed must have been a challenge to get all the SNOT work on the front done.

The very few cases I have modded original parts (like cutting up a road plate), I always regretted it afterward, so I would just get replacements of Bricklink or S@H's PaB (which has them new for €0.12).

Nice little vehicle. However, it indeed looks more like a small SUV. For it to be realistic in that case it would need to be wider however. For it to be realistic as a small town car, it would need to be fitted with smaller, more narrow wheels, and preferably different wheel arches. Anyway, it's Lego, so anything goes and it fits in really nicely with today's City theme.

Ahem, yeah, sure, from TLG's perspective it's probably a good move (otherwise they wouldn't have implemented it), but I think he was reasoning from his own perspective (which is what most people tend to do ). He mentions that in the article yeah. ... now just look at what kind of speculation a little sentence in a blog post can stimulate Anyway, what I see from most people's reaction, there don't really appear to be any unanimously favored or disliked figs (besides maybe the diver and crash test dummy which aren't called favorites that much, I admit). -
Eldorado Fortress and Imperial Fort put together! Take a look
Rick replied to Ivan K.'s topic in Pirate MOCs
I like your setup. If TLG continues the Pirates line in 2011, I sure hope they'll sell modular attachments to last year's set. I agree with what has been said about the color though. I think you'd get the best look by swapping all yellow pieces on the Eldorado Fortress by tan, but unfortunately many pieces are not (easily) available in tan. -

Couldn't agree more! But I guess this is part of the 'collectibles' aspect of it, although the price - based on 1.99 pounds, I'm guessing €2,50 - doesn't really fit this aspect... I bet the rare ones won't include the crash test dummy or the diver... -
Brickset has a news item on it as well, with some more info...

Brickset has some new info from the London Toy Fair (along with some more 2010 news): -
Agreed, but this doesn't look TOO realistic to me. It's only a little more detailed than this Lego riffle. Usually Brickarms manages to strike more or less the right balance.

Wow, that's... pink. But a really nice building. The front of the Lego store looks promising. How did you do the PaB wall in the back? Technic bricks with 1 x 1 trans-round plates?
-
If this is what you want then you've answered your own question.

Indeed a wonderful creation. You mentioned earlier that you bought a display model (?) from a Lego store. Did you modify it in any way? If it's basically just the building you bought assembled, you might want to prevent people from thinking it's 100% your own MOC. You mention that in the post I quoted above, but since it's so far back in this topic by now, people may not be aware (just friendly advice, please don't take it wrong). Anyway, I agree with MetroiD: whether it's entirely your own or not, it deserves a topic of it's own (also because it's not entirely on-topic here).

I guess it's just the prototype. The metal doesn't make it look very Lego-like. Any idea what colors it will be available in? The design is excellent by the way! And indeed... Pirates could do with one or two more weapon designs. Fingers crossed for 2011.

Nicely detailed truck!

Great, those pics look like they belong to a proper review... I bet we can expect to see something up here soon.

Not mine, but I spotted this folder on Brickshelf, and it includes detailed pigs of the pics, eeehm, pics of the pigs

Really nice start of a train. The dark tan works really well and the background for the 'box art' is great! Looking forward to more...

Very simple, yet very effective technique on the trolleys (soon to be featured on Classic-Town.net )
