Even crazier than they already were? That teaser picture looks great def. Looking forward to some madness. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion

My guess exactly. This way, the fig can hold it and, by removing the 1 x 1 round plate, it can be displayed. -
That's indeed the best airline promo of the last years. Too bad these won't be regularly available. And, after the bank set, another appearance of dark-blue in City.
-
Lovely entry. Nothing too fancy, with just the right amount of detailing on the walls. The idea for candle shop is also rather unique, but fits the theme perfectly.
-
Well spotted! I don't think it has a brick-built hull though. It seems more like a red version of this. And... are those 'bus windows' in (non-trans) dark-blue on the money transport? The edges seem rounded.

Indeed, it's far-fetched to say they're competing. I don't expect TLG to make it as versatile as BlueBrick. Or even backwards compatible with older base plates and tracks. Since the only trains in the house here are Duplo, I'd like to see a Duplo version of LEGO's track designer. I've been doing some Duplo track layouts in BlueBrick, but since it's only track and no baseplates and track-side structures, it would be nice to have something like this for Duplo as well.

Did you guys asking how it's done actually check AJW's flickr photostream? Last train of the night - 13 by studhead, on Flickr Although I'm not really a fan of using LEGO this way to create curves, the effect is fantastic. And your photography skills make for an excellent presentation.

It seems like TLG is getting better and better at keeping info inside at least until the dealer catalogs are released. So far, we know very little about sets that will be released in the second half of 2011. Some rumors, but no pictures at all. Castle as a theme will always continue (with a leap year here and there), but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a second wave in 2011 and that's it again for Kingdoms. It just isn't the 1980s anymore.

I don't recall many, if any, new molds specifically for the modular buildings. But new colors are often introduced specifically for these. The modular buildings never use stickers and I sure hope they keep it that way.
-
And yet another entry that perfectly captures the holiday atmosphere. The building is really nice and I like all the decorations you put up. I'm surprised noone actually build Santa's sled yet. Excellent work, although I think it's a little bulky.
-
Agreed, ... ... and this would be my suggestion as well, as 'digital' (since LDD) is more common than 'virtual' in the LEGO community.
-
Same here, I mainly buy City sets for the vehicles as I prefer Modular buildings, but even the building is growing on me. The vehicles in this set seem pretty good and since I don't intend to buy any of the other police sets, this would actually be my first new police car since the World City police series. I guess it all depends on the price. As to the 'background element' in the police set. It's a sidewalk with a speed camera and two traffic signs. Nothing special there, but I guess it adds to the playability of the set.

While I didn't consciously use the word, I don't think there actually is one single definition of "<insert that tiresome argument>". In addition to the aspects you mention, to me it also carries the meaning of "unrealistic", much like the cars in the Town Jr. era were. In my opinion, the trike isn't as refined as it could be and the new motorcycle variations are much better in that respect. The disappointment of seeing Town Jr. in stores when coming out of my dark ages undoubtedly didn't contribute to my liking of the trike. And actually I don't mind a few trikes in my city, the new motorcycles (of which I don't own any yet) just seem to provide much more variation.
-
Are they really bringing back that silly <insert that tiresome argument> trike again? The cars in the chase set look pretty decent though. Not sold on the bank either, but what else would you expect in a (modern) City set? Is that a new 2 x 1 x 6 windscreen piece on the the money van and gray roller doors? Also, do they have some sort of new inverted slope for the backs of the cars?

Really? I wouldn't have guessed... Besides the banner, I really like the color scheme on the forums as well. Excellent work guys.

Excellent combination of Collectible Minifig parts on Santa.

Great idea for a MOC TheBrickster - excellent execution too - featuring the two best figs of the PQ theme and the minifig series 3 flyer.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion
Rick replied to legokuate's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Just when I thought they were running out of ideas for these... they come up with this. This series is absolutely amazing. There are so many versatile new part molds in this. -
Looks like black tape with a cut-out.
-
The part with the bar can lie flat on a surface, so there won't be any friction. Maybe the friction is provided because the doors 'hang down' a bit because the hinges are relatively far away or because the roof of the trailer presses down on the doors.

Simple, yet elegant. Purist.

Welcome to the LEGO Action Forum!

The default is supposed to be the new winter skin now. If it doesn't update automatically, use the drop-down box in the bottom-left corner to change to Winter. Or don't, if you prefer something else.
