Hey guys, Im pretty sure Ive posted something in this topic before but I cant find it (nothing related to this though). So Im going to Melbourne at the end of January (2 days after brickvention ). Is there any specifically lego store around the city anywhere? Or is it all just department stores? Thanks guys!

Oh man we are really getting screwed here. Too many deaths for us to stay ahead of the scum. I still don't have any leads on any of the scum. Man they love their water taxis! Their stadiums planned to look spectacular, but I didn't expect anything less from a country in that area. They have really interesting shapes and are definitely on a grand scale. Qatar is definitely a solid place for FIFA to choose because they have the money to get this going and I assume it is relatively safe. But doesnt their culture ban alcohol? I wonder what would happen with that because Heineken is a big backer of the world cup.

Man Draggy you get good info. Disappointing we dont get PQ, the line has some good sets and terrific parts. Its a shame that we arent getting them, but Im sure we will find a way. The pet shop sounds intriguing, the modular are definitely something that has always been in my mind about buying but I just cant see a real use for just one of them. I would need to buy 2-3 and then MOC some to make it look good. The dragon sounds good but my confidence has waned in the collectables. Seems just like big hype over nothing. Though I do hope the dragon is like the gorilla, that would look awesome! And a little off topic: Im sorta thinking of changing my display name. I just feel its getting stale and its too long (and to step out of Draggy's shadow ) Its also partly cause everyone calls me Ron while my real name is Riley. I can see how they would get confused though. But Im really stuck on a name that ties in Riley, does anyone have any suggestions?

Has anyone tried to overlay trans-blue over another colour to show that there is something under the water? Or even a crocodile under the water?

Yeah they arent the best clocks. Anakin is just plain ugly and I think I would just kill it during the first night. Yoda is a bit more tolerable but they dont beat the Stormie and Vader ones. Those look really nice and I wouldnt mind picking one up. Now if only I actually used an alarm

That's really unethical. You guys are really lucky to get buy one get one 50% on Lego. I don't even think I've seen such a sale in New Zealand, and then to cheat the system? Pretty poor. I dont know it just seems if you are doing that to TRU then you should have to pay $5-$10 for a set.

I feel that we can all learn a lesson from this post. If we all start refining our post, it will trickle down to the people that aren't editing their own posts and we will se a great impact on the discussions. I know there are a lot of people on EB and English is a second language. Its great that they are trying which is terrific. However they are not where the problem lies. Its usually the ones that just want some posts. I always believe that quality will always beat quantity. A great discussion has been brought up in the Star Wars forum which has made some good discussion instead of page after page of one-two sentence posts. I love it when an old discussion has been bought up by someone that wants to participate in it and has some great points to make. It has been a great success, and front paged!

You have really done a great job recreating this. It seems to be spot on and I must say I have loved the unrealeased set since I laid my eyes on it. Lego should really make more sets like this so that we dont get the same vehicle over and over. I love it, the set has great detail while still looking like an affordable set. The midi X-wing would be a great addition to the midi family as well. Great work!

I actually have no idea why I didnt. I think it was in my first or second year of collecting and I was on a really tight budget so I overlooked it as a set I didnt need at all. Or either it was just one of those sets that I was planning to get but the next wave pushed it out of buying. Just like GG's starfighter this year really. I was planning to buy it but I would much rather save the money. I am a fan of the game also so I hope its going to be a good set.

Well I bought the Rogue Shadow off TM for $150. I thought I would like to kick off my holidays with a set and I chose that one cause it may be hard to find in a little while. I chose to not buy the Emperor's shuttle and AT-AT cause they will probably be around for a while until they disappear. But luckily I dont really have to pay for it cause Im stripping wallpaper for it so that shouldn't be difficult.

I can see how collectors from the early days make be sick of it. I know how much the remakes of sets annoy you guys. Me too, Im annoyed with the remake of the Sith infiltrator. But the remakes make it possible for people like me, who have only started in the past 4-5 years to buy the same ship but without having to pay 3x the original price for it. I think remakes are what is driving the them on as well as CW. I would much rather have a remake of a set than some obscure ship from the EU. EU sets just don't sell well as seen by the TIE crawler and TIE Defender. As for CW, I don't mind it really. I think the problem with the TV series is that they try to get everything into a half an hour episode. Sometimes its just not the right way to approach it. And they try to jazz it up with all new ships that really don't look great at all. However Lego does do a good job on recreating them in Lego and they really keep true to what Lucas arts made. The sub-theme, in my opinion has made some terrific sets like the AAT, TX-130, ARC-170 and RAG. Sometimes it the minifigs that are lacking. Im on the fence about the CW faces. Yoda, Cad Bane and Nute Gunray all have good looking heads. They look fine CW, but Obi Wan and Anakin don't. Maybe that just because we see them to often and are boring, or perhaps they are just really ugly. Price is a definite issue for me though. In New Zealand price are about double what the US prices are and its worse in other countries. Though the prices are usually around the same price marks, so its easy to guess how much if will be by looking at it. But I absolutely hate it when you Americans complain that its gone up a mere $5. $5 is nothing compared to what we pay. And then you complain you don't get them first. Sometimes we have to wait 1-1.5 months after you. Its not fair that you think its you that gets ripped off however you dont know how much we do really pay. I think CW is probably just a fad. It will fade out in 2-3 years and will keep the license going. But I really don't know what the longevity of the license after CW. But maybe with the other TV show coming around the corner, Star Wars will get a breath of fresh air and carrying on for many years to come. But I definitely know what I will be doing after Star Wars. Lots of MOCing, buying bricks and town sets. Moving back to what you could say is the heart of lego. But Lego will sure be in a bit of a downfall when Star Wars stops.
