The Winners of Expand the Winter Village Contest
XimenaPaulina replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Town
Congratulations to all the winners! You all deserve it for your outstanding creations! It's quite interesting that all the winning entries are train stations, so I guess TLG might pick up an idea or two based on these entries. Kudos also to the organizers (Hinck and the rest of the staff) for setting-up this wonderful contest. Props also to all other participants, your works are great as well and truly worthy of being recognized. Enjoy all your literally 'cool' snowflake tags! -
Welcome to Eurobricks legaser! Very nice intro, it's nice to hear you're back to our beloved Lego passion. Your LDD MOC is very well done, hope to see more from your here in the forums.

I love these custom Japanese girl minifigs alan! They're all wonderfully made, with a colorful variation of attires and accessories. I agree with the others, that is one of the most unique ways I've seen those flippers were used. Great work as usual and keep it up!

MOC: The First Fright...
XimenaPaulina replied to TheLonelySquireOfGothos's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Nice simple vignette, I'm not familiar with the scene since I'm not into Resident Evil, but I get what you're trying to convey. The use of that head seems perfect for a zombie, though I wish some of the pics would've been clearer and less blurry. -
A warm welcome to you milady! We do hope you continue to enjoy your EB experience now that you're an official part of the community. And oh no, you are certainly not an oddity, FFOLs are more like "roses among thorns" the way I see it.

This is a lovely Church MOC vlai23, I like it a lot. The tan color scheme is visually appealing, coupled with the exterior details like the crucifix and the glass mosaic windows. The interiors are very well done too and resemble what we see iside a real church. Though I think it would've been better if trans-plates were used in the altar glass mosaic instead of the trans-cones. But overall, you really did a great job on this one!

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
XimenaPaulina replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I have two schools of thought regarding this matter: 1.) I only buy sets that I really (as in really) like. And after building them, there is always the 'expected' inaccuracies that I need to address/fix to satisfy my accuracy craving. So answering your first question, all my sets are no longer in their natural state since they have all been modified and improved in some way. 2.) With regards to MOCing, I rarely sacrifice sets just to make MOCs. What I do is plan the MOC in LDD, purchase the parts I need from BL, and then build my MOCs. Sometimes, I do scavenge parts from sets, but I always make it a point to replenish them on my next stop to BL. Also, I also don't take apart my MOCs (non-contest entries), like what artists won't do with their artworks. I also never see official sets as 'parts packs', so I don't buy them just to get the parts. It's always practical to buy the specific parts that you need from BL IMO. -
That thing is loooong! Great work on this one AussieJimbo! I'll echo the sentiments above that the longnose truck looks much better than the other one (which is also good). The tri-axe dolly is a nice addition to your B-Double Tanker. Keep it up!

Ooh, I love all of these classic cars! Your new ones are great additions to your collection FixBayonets! But I do like the DHL van and the Piaggio Apes from your previous ones. Great job on all of these! Hope to see more from you soon.

Hi thomassio, that's a nice castle you have there, though I must say it's a tad bit colorful for a medieval castle. Maybe if you just toned down a bit on the dark red, dark green, and pearl gold and just used the more common grey tones it would've been much better. But I would assume this is due to lack of available parts, am I right?

Wow, that's one massive and beautiful piece of art, you have done it again Rook, congratulations on this latest masterpiece of yours! The sheer size and details are a sight to behold, it must've taken you so much time, effort, and resources just to complete this project. Excellent work, you never cease to amaze us!

Review: 10215 Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter
XimenaPaulina replied to Daedalus304's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for sharing this review Daedalus304! It's always nice to see a different perspective on this set. The close-up shots really demonstrate the neat details of this ship, especially in the cockpit interior. I agree there are elements that could be improved upon this model (rear part, SNOT wings), so it would be interesting to see how others would address this. I might even get a crack of improving this JSF once I get ahold of this beaut. -
Very nice work on this miniaturized Rogue Shadow! It still retained its signature overall shape even if scaled down to size. And it's nice to see StarKiller can be fitted in that 'cramped' interior space. Great work!
-
Wow, this is a totally fun magical presentation Dreamweb! I enjoyed very much 'watching' all these magic tricks. Great job on all those trick photography! Seriously I had a headache trying to figure out how you did those but I gave up in the end. Excellently done overall! Since I'm really curious, I might have to consult this guy to expose your magic secrets!

Simple but very effective logo, well done BrickWild! And it's nice to finally see the man behind the LDD builder.

Welcome to Eurobricks Ben! We're glad to have you here in our community. It sure looks like you're putting your architecture expertise to good use with your LDD designs, as evidenced by that wonderful digitally-rendered Epsom Clock Tower. Hope to see more designs, and even better real brickbuilds, from you. Enjoy the site!

You've been on a castle-themed MOC roll recently Doc eh? (and you even have a new castle Brickdoctor logo ). Another quality vignette, and your knack for minifig posing is clearly evident on this one. I see your patented 'detached legs technique' coupled with the tube arms make those two effective poses (archer and climber). Nice work as always!

Winning the hearts of females? I ain't a Ladies' Man for nothing! Interesting contest idea, I might give this a go. Thanks for sharing this announcement to EB Klementina! Now to get to some serious planning and building. I got a reputation to uphold.
-
Welcome aboard Emil, glad to have you here in Eurobricks! Sounds like you have some interesting trial truck MOCs, hope you could share those with us some time. Well, I hope you enjoy the site, and do visit the Technic subforum. See ya!

Welcome to the forums Rich! Hope to see some MOCs from your soon. Enjoy the site!

Yeah not scary at all since the source episode wasn't scary from the beginning. But you really did a great job on the comic presentation Forresto, the sepia effect really captures the dark and spooky atmosphere of the interiors of the Geonosian catacombs as seen in that particular CW episode. Very well done!
-
Great review MB! Glad I could help with the CW Saesee pic. My thoughts on this set haven't changed - lovely new jedi figs with a decent ship that's not worth the set price.
-
We appreciate your contributions TheLonelySquireOfGothos, but I think the second one doesn't qualify as a one-liner cartoon. But the first one is ok.
-
Another nice one Cloney! I 'got' this one pretty easy this time. It reminds me a bit of this photo I did before:
