Not sure if anyone is interested but I noticed a Taj Mahal set at Myer, Marion (SA) today - I seem to remember someone being disappointed they'd missed out recently. I didn't get a chance to check the price, but it looked like it might have been on some kind of clearance pile. If you're interested I'd ring first before taking my word for it though!

Wow - what an awesome model to turn up just in time for Australia Day! I agree with the others that have said its much more interesting to look at than a straight model... I loved those cutaway books as a kid! I'd love to see something similar done with a submarine or sci-fi space ship etc etc. I did a quick Google for 'Lego Cutaway' but didn't see anything close to what you've done.

Been trying to get on and post for the past day - everytime I login ready to go something interrupts me... Thanks so much for all the great advice though - I had no idea what to expect in terms of eBay fees, but based on those figures its cheaper than I though! I knew I'd have to estimate a shipping cost and had planned to include registered post and insurance. I assume most people who are forking out several hundred dollars for Lego are also happy to pay a few dollars more to cover themselves if something goes wrong... I'll leave it on the board here for a few more days before going the eBay route, but I think that's what I'm going to have to do! Thanks again for your advice and help!

Thanks for the advice guys! I've never had much to do with eBay - after a quick look on the site I couldn't figure out how much it will cost to sell something around about that price, but I'll have a better look later. It never occured to me that I'd have to find a box to post it in...

You're right regarding eBay, but it was so easy to make a quick post on the very slight chance its what somebody is after . You never know, it might have been just what one of the other Aussies was looking for! I think I better dig out the box and take some photos for eBay though! Which reminds me; when people say 'Mint in Sealed Box' are they referring to the contents being mint, or are they actually expecting the box to be perfect condition too? I've just dug the box out and had a look - its almost perfect, but with the type of scuffing along a couple of edges you'd expect with something that gets transported in contact with other boxes... I'm not sure how well you guys all know each other, but it had occured to me that one of the better known Adelaidian's might have been happy to act as some kind of escrow service too... not sure if its worth that much trouble, but you never know.

Hi guys, I've got a 6211 (new in sealed box) Star Destroyer for sale. I bought a pair of them years ago with the intention of making a Super Star Destroyer, but it was a stupid idea since I never got around to it. I did at least open and build one of them. Before I go the eBay route I thought I'd mention it here on the slight chance anyone local (Adelaide) would be interested. That way we could make the sale in person without anyone having to transfer me money and cross their fingers. I was hoping to get about $250AU for it; if that's unreasonable please let me know what you'd be happy with. Less than what they seem to go for on eBay, but a bit more than I paid for it originally. Myer did the same a few weeks ago - my local Myer doesn't have much of anything unfortunately though! I wonder if it will become a regular thing, or if they're just trying to flush out extra Christmas stock?

I had a bit of a look on ebay and there seems to be a fair few of them up for grabs in Australia - I think the missus is happy for me to sell one of my own (slightly) older sets to pay for it... I wonder whether the TIE Defender will be included in the Kmart sale this week? The RRP seems a little ridiculous to me, but would be a bit more bearable on sale.

I had always thought an old worn out/leaky aquarium would make a nice display cabinet for pirate stuff. We've got a bun in the oven now though, so any Lego of mine will be too busy being played with to be displayed I hope! Since I'm new here and can't post a topic yet AFAIK, is it appropriate for me to mention a set I was thinking of selling in this thread? I really want to get one of those Flagships eventually...

I might take your advice and wait and see what turns up in shops - the price tag + shipping is pretty massive . Anyway, being new here I'll try and refrain from venturing too far off topic and find a better place to ask some questions! Gotta pick up some late Christmas presents with the missus tomorrow morning - will take a wander by the Lego and report anything interesting on sale!

Unfortunately, approval was given when it was on special - I'm not sure she'd be too happy if I pulled a bait-n-switch with something nearly twice the price! I've always been a big pirate fan but never had a ship when I was a a kid. Last year she imported a Brickbeard's Bounty for my birthday, so I'm working on her at the moment to let me order a flagship from the Lego store. If I go that route I could maybe sneak a gunship at RRP on the order...

I pointed it out to the missus, but she didn't even bother saying no. It's like the price was so ridiculous she didn't need to... I convinced her to let me buy a Republic Gunship on sale a while ago but by the time I went to get it it was gone - I don't suppose they are still on shelves anywhere?
