  1. Ah well, good luck to everyone looking for sets tomorrow! I hope you all manage to pick up the trains/pirate ships/fire stations that you're after.
  2. That has always seemed strange to me: so many places stock points, yet stores rarely stock trains or track. What are people supposed to do with points on their own?
  3. I'll be really happy if I can pick up a Flagship for $199! I've supposedly got one on hold, but I'll be getting in early anyway. If anyone in Adelaide is desperate for one but can't make it into Myer I could try and pick up an extra for them. No promises obviously, but I could PM immediately if successful. I'm not out to make a profit; would only ask what it cost me. Also, am I the only one that gets pangs of guilt snapping up these bargains? I just hope I'm not denying some pirate loving kid an awesome Christmas present :P
  4. I popped into Adelaide city Myer today - still no Flagships of course, but the new train overpass crossing was in for a bit under $80.
  5. I saw the MMV in a Target a few months ago. I would have grabbed it, but my wife was with me...
  6. Thanks very much, I appreciate the offer! I'm hoping that if I walk into the local myer with my newborn baby girl in my arms I might be able to convince them to set one aside, but I'll have to see how I go. If that falls through I might come back begging
  7. I don't suppose you've come across a Flagship in Adelaide yet, Lightningtiger? You seem to have a pretty good grip on what's available here
  8. Thanks Clone-Trooper - it wasn't that I doubted you, I just wondered if anyone had come across stock in Adelaide. I guess I'll have to wait until the mid-year sales start...
  9. Thanks for the tip! My wife asked about the Flagships at Marion, South Australia but they're expecting stock in the next couple of days. Has anybody come across them today?
  10. No worries at all! I'd said earlier on in the thread that I'd definitely check it out this week, I wouldn't want you to think I'd gone back on my word. I reckon you've dine a really neat job of the place though! Are you selling the collectable minifigs at RRP?
  11. Just drove down to visit the Laygo Shop and it was closed for lunch! Nevermind, it looked like a really nice store; nice and bright and clean with all the Lego neatly arranged. Kind of how I imagine the official Lego stores must look. I could even see the minifigs on the counter, but couldn't actually buy any...
  12. Wow, that's quicker than I had expected! I might not make it to open day but I'll definitely pop in some time this week. I'll try and convince one if the guys at work to come with me! Great to hear Lego are okay with the shop name (I assume). I like it, especially since I keep getting told us South Aussies are the only ones in the world that pronounce it that way instead of 'Leggo'. That can't be true... I don't suppose you'll have an Imperial Flagship?
  13. Sounds good! Reading my post back I feel bad for saying 'not a flash shopping centre or anything' - I just meant I would expect an official Lego shop to pop up in the Myer centre in the city for example. I meant no disrespect... So will this new Laygo store fill a similar type of role as the Toycorner place on the other side of town (ie, selling older sets, bulk bricks etc)? I'd imagine it would be hard to compete with the likes of BigW/Kmart on the current stuff! Oh, and best of luck with the new place - I work fairly close by so I'll definitely be coming by for a look!
  14. There are a few X-Wings at Toysrus Noarlunga (Adelaide) for $69. Just over $50 for an X-Wing (after 25% off) is pretty darn good if you ask me...
  15. I could be wrong Melike, but I think Endor was a Toyworld exclusive. I certainly haven't seen them anywhere but Toyworld either.
  16. Interesting, I thought Hewman might have been on the money with the Toy Corner suggestion. It would be handy having a source of bricks relatively close to home. Handy and expensive! I'm not sure I'll have the time to chase up the minifig collections (what with a baby due very soon and lots of work to be done around the house), but I'll look into it and see what I can find. My in laws are coming back from a holiday to Europe next week, I'll see if I can get them to bring back an extra package!
  17. I'd probably be interested in getting a small share of a box (say, $50 worth), but I don't think I'd get away with spending hundreds. On a side note that might be of interest to fellow Adelaidian's, there appears to be a Lego speciality shop going up in a little group of shops opposite Wirreanda High School. I doubt very much that it's official since it isn't a flash shopping centre or anything, but the windows are covered in brown paper and there are a lot of Lego logos. There appeared to be 'under construction' signs featuring a picture of a minifig as well. Very exciting!
  18. Sounds good - even my wife was impressed with the minifig collection, so I should be able to buy a few. There's none that I'd consider must-haves though, so it might be good fun trading them. I was hoping they'd become the type of thing available as an impulse buy at supermarkets - it would be easy to grab one every week during the shopping or something. For the baby, of course
  19. I've only ever made one S@H order, but it took a few days longer than the 18 business days suggested. Maybe it was busy at Christmas time or something? I'm sure the others will be able to give you a better average time, but it could be as long as a month from my experience.
  20. None (or at least none left) at Marion, Adelaide. Missus just had a look for me but came back empty handed. :( Nevermind... I chickened out on the Flagship last night too. My only hope is that they'll turn up at one of the local shops one day instead. Edit: no houses left at Noarlunga either. Hopefully saves someone a trip!
  21. I think it was a fair while ago - I guess the next big sales will be the mid year ones. From what I've seen the Kmart prices have been pretty good anyway (a fair bit under RRP on the stuff I've paid attention to), so getting an additional 20% would make things relatively cheap.
  22. Yeah, someone mentioned once before that there was a good chance they'll turn up at David Jones later in the year (or somewhere similar). I'll be really disappointed if I miss out though - never had a pirate ship as a kid and always swore I'd buy any decent new ones that came out. The Imperial Flagship looks very decent! No, I had a really good read through all the advice you guys gave me, and I decided eBay sounded like a bit of hassle. My wife and I have a baby due in a few weeks - I figured if I ever found someone to buy it great, but if not my 5yo will get a pretty cool Christmas present one year... You're still welcome to make an offer though of course.
  23. Does anyone know whether the free shipping thing applies to non-Star Wars sets? I'd love an Imperial Flagship, and if they aren't expected to turn up in stores today's probably my best bet. Can someone please buy my ISD so that the missus doesn't kill me before the Flagship would arrive?
  24. I can't help you with the Fire Brigade (other than being 99% sure I've seen them at ToysRUs), but Lego shipping starts at about $25 and goes up in about $5 increments as the size of the order increases. I don't remember exact figures, but its something like $40 S+H for $200 worth of Lego. I'm pretty sure the S+H fee is capped at about $45 or so though as well... Off the top of my head, I'd guess you'd be up for the best part of fifty bucks to have the fire brigade posted by Lego. Hope that helps.
  25. Hi guys, Just been into the city for some late-night shopping in Adelaide. The Toys R Us has the new Impulse sets (airport dude and Atlantis ones) - got a couple at $5 a pop. The Toy World in the Myer Centre had a few of last years construction sets (the big bulldozer, crane) for a bit under normal price, but they also had a big pile of the Star Wars tank droids (#7748) for $25 each.
