Dumora attempts to tackle Ellaria before she gives away the Party's currently unnoticed position. "You're just going to barge in there?"
-
The Party quietly heads further into the tunnels and as the noises draws nearer the group sees a large cavern ahead filled with dark dwarves. At one end stands a gigantic dual-headed drilling machine and a vessel of some sort submerged in an underground lake. More vessels appear to be being assembled by other dwarves within the cavern. Heroica RPG - Quest #141: A Bone to Pick

"That ain't good." Boris swung his mace at Agnito from the front row. -
Feel free, I'm always interested in new PC or NPC just because they offer more opportunity for the world to expand.

"Eh, if they're spirits, not much blood to take." Boris smiled, "I'm still learning, but wouldn't Ezeran's spell work in this Lush environment?" -
Trust us, Amnesiacs are funny for their first quest while they're experiencing everything for the first time and you can play the whole ignorance is bliss thing, but after that they're simply annoying. You're free to try one, but you probably won't get a lot of people interested in playing with him/her/it.
-
There you go Hoke nice and simple, have at 'em. The only one I think you'll have to worry about siding with them is Calamity.
-
"For an omniscient being, he sure doesn't do a lot of good with that. Sod, seems like Ulric's done more good than him."
-
Hey Boris does very good for himself, snagging a downed thug every now and again. You'll run into that plenty in the real-world, it lends itself to making Heroica RPG such a distinctly diverse community and thus a distinctly diverse game.
-
Skrall shrugged his shoulders, "Could have fooled me, lookin' at who's joined up with the Sungold and Crescents."
-
And I completely agree with you in that's it's interesting and it has it's place in storytelling, the issue arises when people play RPG's to escape from that, they want the plain cut where there is right and wrong and a line drawn clearly in the sand. Both styles are tropes and each have their appeal to different types of players and both are valid and the one great thing about Heroica RPG as we as a community have always been able to accommodate both styles via different QM's. I guess this comes into more of the spot light due to the amount of content being focused on the one aspect of the game (your storyline, Sandy).
-
This too.
-
"Just 'cause he ain't human doesn't mean he's without those things. 'Sides, ya just said yerself ya haven't met Ulric."
-
True, but again I think it comes from the QM's wanting something to fill that roll and the Wolfgang is the closest thing to it. If Sandy forbids QM's from portraying them in that light, then it won't take long for another group to fill the niche whether it be the Crimson Crown, the Cold Circle, or some other group. We tend to categorize things into good vs evil, black vs white, we don't like it when no matter what side you choose you're going to get a mixed bag of morally gray ideals and characters (i.e. Wolfgang, Crescent Union, or Sungold Alliance).
-
We've seen plenty of LEGO theme factions displayed in this game that have little correlation to their real world counter-parts.
-
"My apologies Lind, but ya considered a fallen soddin' celestial with plans for world micromanagement to be charismatic."
-
I think you just described all of Endgame's quests. Apart from when he tries to make it into a complex backstory about immortal and all powerful beings.
-
I think it comes from QM's wanting an antagonist that doesn't take a whole lot of setup in order for PC's to be familiar with them. The Wolfgang always used to be the standard "bad guys" that everyone knew about and QM's could always use as a foil. I know we've recently been trying to portray them in a different light, but old habits die hard.
-
"So I've heard, never had the pleasure of seein' him face to face though. Had a run in with once with one of his "generals" though." Skrall took another drink. "Biased opinion?"
-
"Don't know what they were expectin' hashing all this out in the middle of the hall." Skrall glanced down at a letter that had appeared in his satchel after perusing the note he took another drink and settled into his seat. "So Karie, what's yer thoughts on the Wolfgang?" Skrall scratched his head, "I still ain't got no idea what yer talkin' about, Lind. Sounds to me like he had a telepath in his head."
-
All these arguments over political ideologies seem like perfect points to be shared in the Hall.
-
"Not quite sure how ya came to that conclusion Whisperer."

OoC: Is Indrito's 2nd special supposed to do 45 damage? "Spirits and souls, I don't know where you got your theology, but I definitely think you missed your catechism." Boris charged at Varunata from the front row.
