  1. Personally, I don't have a favorite. A city really needs all of those things to function properly.
  2. Very nice. I like all of your engines, however I particularly like your TSRR# 500. The Green/Grey/Black colour scheme is very sharp, and really makes that engine stand out!. Your Pere Marquette is as nice as ever, though I actually prefer the Polar Express badging. Even if it is out of season, I think it adds more charm to the engine. Still, its an undeniably beautiful train. The other two are also quite noteworthy. Your American 4-4-0 and your screams Western display, while your Texas State RR #300 would look great in a turn-of-the-century town or city. Great work. HOWEVER, I'm still wondering when you'll finally make your return to castle. Later.
  3. Really loving this. Oh, and I may be incorrect, but I think that the factory is actually just... red. The dark-red colouring seems to be a product of the photography/photo editing. Look carefully at some of the red windows: they also appear to be dark red, even though many of them have been out of production for years. Still, regardless of colour, this is a genuine, bonafide masterwork. Bravo, and kudos for a job well done. Later.
  4. Wishful thinking. Even if there was a weapon rack hidden from view, I very much doubt we'd be getting many more quivers. If you like the set, by all means you should buy it, but nobody can tell me that its worth it because of a few pieces that were produced for almost 20 years. Sure, its nice that they are back, but It really isn't a huge deal.
  5. Arcade Fire: Neon Bible
  6. Your going to have to buy ALOT of castles in order to get a decent number of quivers.
  7. I'm intrigued about the possibility of adding more floors. I wonder if LEGO might consider selling additional floors to expand the building a few stories higher. Still, another amazing model. It still gets to me that so many people still complain about how LEGO still isn't up to snuff. This year is too good for fans, and bad for wallets everywhere!
  8. EXACTLY! You know, I've never really understood why so many fans make a big deal about parts that are easy to get at very low prices. The bow and arrow and the quiver are dirt cheap items that are incredibly common and easy ot purchase if you need them. You certainly don't need to buy the large castle for them when they can be had at Bricklink for a few cents.
  9. The Eiffel Tower, while appealing, isn't exactly a sky-scraper. Generally, the term skyscaper seems to be synonomous with large multi-floored buildings, rather than towers. Of course this is probably why LEGO has avoided them. They are huge! The piece count for a decent sky-scraper would be very high indeed. When you consider that a structure like the Eiffel Tower is mostly girders and support beams, it becomes pretty apparent that a true skyscraper is going to cost a pretty penny.
  10. Most of my minifigs live in a bucket anyways. Honestly, what does one do with hundreds of minifigs at any given time? I have enough female minifigs to meet most of my needs. Moreover, as a castlehead, soldiers are the norm, so I don't really need alot of female figs anyways. Only when building a village-oriented MOC do females really become necessary.
  11. I doubt there is a large market for something like this. Personally, I think one of LEGO's biggest shortcomings has been the production of too many lines, rather than the constant support of a few strong ones. I wouldn't support something like this, simply because I like to dedicate myself to one or two themes.
  12. Just paid. Good luck guys.
  13. Actually, I find the design quite non-descript. While it easily looks like it could be a cafe in a European metropolis, it also looks like it would fit well in a North American small town. I think that this is what makes this design so appealing. It fits in almost anywhere.
  14. If you look at his gallery, you'll find more shots of that grievous fighter. Its quite nice actually. The builder's other work is pretty nice too. As I mentioned earlier, I suspect that the actual 10180 is the licenced vehicle that was apparently discussed at the Frechen show. There was also a sketch of the corner cafe at that show. Perhaps nothing has been announced yet because LEGO is still working on the licencing agreement.
  15. I would love to compete in a town-vehicle competition, even though I'm more of a castle nut myself. Unfortunately, my only "town" vehicles are this: and Not exactly your typical town fare. Still, even Batman needs a way to get around Legoland ;-) . Oh, and I still like the fork truck the best.
  16. What about the Warsaw Radio Mast or the CN Tower? The Eiffel Tower doesn't crack the top 10. The Warsaw Radio Mast was the world's tallest supported structure, whereas the CN Tower is the world's largest freestanding structure. Still, the Eiffel tower should be awesome! Considering the fact that its structure is predominantly hollow, those 3000+ bricks should go a long way! I expect something in the whereabouts of 150cm in height. Anything less and I am thuroughly disappointed :-D .
  17. Wow, and just... WOW *wub* !!! LEGO, your driving the fandom into bankruptcy. The sheer level of detail on that baby is insane! I'm utterly humbled by the awesomeness of this thing... And at the same time disappointed. I've already got a Falcon on order. I really can't justify dropping any more $$$ on non-castle related sets. Seeing all the awesome stuff you Star Wars and Town folk get makes me a bit jealous. I do hope that LEGO does something like this for castle-heads in the future. Right now we sit and watch as you end up with all of these amazing sets. Also, does anybody have any info on the mystery set? Given the poll LEGO conducted recently (the one about modular town buildings and large-scale vehicles), I'm expecting the final set to be a large-scale licenced vehicle of some sort. LEGO is really going all out this year. The only question is, can the fans support this kind of love, or is it just too expensive? I hope this is a success, because I'd really like to see more sets like this in the futre.
  18. Unfortunately, I've discovered that there are size limitations for the contest. I guess that means I won't be able to enter with any of my current projects. Hopefully I'll have time to work up something that is more in scale.
  19. Haha! I've turned the tide *knight* . Seriously, I love that lift truck design. The others are nice as well, but that forklift really stands out. The use of skelly arms for the roll cage is absolutely wonderful. Cool stuff.
  20. There's no question that the hull pieces are a form of juniorization. The same can be said of castle walls, and any other predominantly pre-fab brick. Of course, at times juniorization is necessary. Afterall, to purchase a comprable set with a brick-built hull would have been severely cost-prohibitive. Juniorization isn't necessarily a bad thing when only a few elements are <insert that tiresome argument>. It becomes increasingly so when most or all of the elements become so simple that it prohibits any real possibility of MOCing. This didn't happen until the Pirate line was six feet under. Pretty much, the years 1997 through 2002 mark the worst of the juniorization craze.
  21. Its funny that the villians ended up looking alot like LEGO's NBA players. Very nice work. To be able to replicate that kind of scary is an art *vader* .
  22. Batman for the win. Honestly, this is the only affordable way to pick up a Robin minifig (even if he is a magnet). Given the price of the Batcave, I'd rather just buy these.
  23. The same could be said of people who show off large MOCs. I certainly don't think I've ever built anything that wonderful. My real advantage as a builder has not been talent; but rather an unusually large supply of old grey bricks (not that I can complain about that :-D ). Personally, army building doesn't interest me in the slightest, but I do see why some fans might regard it as being impressive.
  24. Now that we've reached our goal, who are we to make payment to?
