What about the overlap system, like in PTV. Instead of 8x8 it might be 6x10. You subtract from 1 side and add to the other.

I agree with the others that a cannon would be nice, I'd also put one of the tower guards in the archway, for some reason the 2 of them in the tower look awkward. Overall its a great first time cliff-fort combination, good job
