I'm sensing a time distortion. :P But see thats the thing. Batman made money, and was greatly accepted by fans. Harry Potter made money and was greatly accepted by fans. And look how both of them turned out. You really can't make that kinda judgement because it "ultimately makes money". Star Wars and Bionicle, two of Lego's top notch themes, will one day end. -Omi

To be quite honest, not even sure. It is just what I am told. However outdated they are, they still keep a basic shape. Kinda like like a Y Wing set. :P -Omi

How can I be wrong about something being true? And I said modern warfare. Give it another 50 years, and you'll see your tank. -Omi

I can throw a moc in the Community Window and not have it endorsed by Lego. I don't see how I am being any different than you guys, aside from voicing opposite opinions. Is that wrong to do on this forum? Disagreeing with someone? Wrong about what? Technically nobody is right nor wrong here. Ok so they asked a guy. Still means they didn't build it. :P Because they didn't build it and it wasn't a set. MOCs are acceptable because Lego can't be held responsible. -Omi
-
Because it isn't a set modelled, built, nor endorsed by the Lego company. That is a MOC and nothing more. We are discussing sets, not MOCs. Wow that looks nothing like the flying wing from the movies. Just look at the Wiki article for the flying wing, and it doesn't even mention the fact that it was used in the movies. Meaning the one in the movie was fictional. Lego doesn't make Nazis. They didn't make Nazis for the Indy theme either, and they will tell you that. Those are just "bad guys". -Omi

What war did we fight when we were two inches tall and green all over? :P Oky Wan pretty much stated what I think on it. -Omi

It's beautiful. Those caroler heads make me lawl. -Omi

In that case we should be expecting the military theme very soon. Which won't happen, because that is against their policy of modern warfare, religion (thats why you never see church sets), and anything drug/alcohol related. Steve Witt is the one who tells me these things, along with other Lego employees. What other vehicles? A cargo truck? A car? A jungle cutter (of which I never seen being used in war)? Those aren't modern warfare. Sorry for having a sense of realism. Not being rude though. -Omi

It means the stored is closed for the time being, most likely they are preparing their inventory for Brickfair. -Omi

"My Lego Policy"? Are you serious? Are you honestly claiming that I am making this all up? I never said Lego didn't contradict themselves. I only said that is their policy. And it is carved in stone for them. Do you recall the story of how Lego didn't want to make green bricks because they feared kids would make tanks out of them? That is what I am talking about. What part about modern of modern warfare do you not get? Western sets are not modern. Star Wars isn't modern. Castle isn't modern. Agents isn't even modern. Anything ranging from WWI to now is modern warfare. -Omi

Ok bad idea to use Bricklink as an example. :P. Most you would be paying for a Joker fig would be 10 bucks, depending. I know Bricks W/O Mortar is a bricklink store. I have purchased from them before. -Omi

Tanks that you see in everyday life, ones that were used in WWI up to now. That kind of tank. When you see it, you know its tank. That is what Lego won't make, because they are against modern warfare. However that doesn't stop them from making an armored vehicle with a turret, since it isn't modern warfare (see Agents). It is still the same thing. Also the Hogwarts sets aren't neccessarily remakes, I suggest you take a good look at them. The reason why I say those are different because they are different. The Y Wing still keeps its basic design, just with different pieces and a pilot. TLG said they wouldn't do anything of modern warfare. That is why they can make guns for Cowboy sets and get away with it, because that isn't modern warfare. -Omi

Let me rephrase, modern military stuff like tanks. And that is true because they themselves make that point clear. As for the vehicles you mentioned, first off the ones in the Race for Stolen Treasure are just a car and a cargo truck, and the Jungle Cutter, I have never seen that on the history channel being used in battle. Let me know when Osama comes around with one in the Middle East. This is why stuff like Brickarms exist. So did every theme that has been discontinued. While you do have a point, each of those 3 sets depicted a different part of the castle. Meaning the Great Hall was not in the second or third set, and are only similar in name. A Y Wing is just a Y Wing. Maybe the new one uses more new pieces than the previous, but still is a Y Wing. Hogwarts castles weren't the same thing over and over. Besides they aren't making anymore SB or HP sets so I have no need to complain about those. I do. That is why I am not bitching about Batman ending last year, nor did I when it was. -Omi

Vendor's prices differ greatly. Almost in comparison to Bricklink. But because this is a con, you will find great deals. -Omi

And what is wrong with Ben 10 and PoP? Out with the old, in with the new. You can never be so certain about that. Ben 10 has a huge fanbase already. Lego doesn't make anything modern military-esque. You know that. To be quite honest, it doesn't "deserve" much. Just because it is Indiana Jones, doesn't mean we praise it like its a god. Marketing is never that simple. You'll learn that when dealing with the economy. Just as probable as Galidor returning. Seriously, you gotta learn to let things go. -Omi
-
Both are Adventerous Themes, and PoP has pieces that can be used for Indy sets (if they were to still happen). What Lt. Col. Thok meant to say is that the Batman theme had a game before it ended (which is similar to your point with Indy having a game). And then he says "too bad it ended", which refutes. I bet Indy will end right after the second game. -Omi
-
Nothing. My original point is that all the themes I mentioned are popular in the media, just like how Indy is. -Omi

The Batman line had nothing to do with the Dark Knight, nor was it primarily based on the movie. Notice how the line was already around way before the Dark Knight was even filmed. Sure we had a Tumbler, but that is more of a marketing thing, and it was confirmed that Batman had no actual ties to Dark Knight. I know why Harry Potter sets are discontinued, but it is apparently still around. And take a good look at Star Wars sets. Sure it may be "Anakin's" Y-Wing, but it is just another Y-Wing. They may be CW, but they aren't primarily "new". This set is just this set. This set is really this set. This set is really this set. This set is a combo of this set and this set. Some new vehicles. Maybe you stoped paying attention when Star Wars repeated itself, cuz I haven't. -Omi

Batman had plenty of possibilities. Spongebob had plenty of possibilities. Avatar had plenty of possibilities. Harry Potter had plenty of possibilities. Where are those themes? Just because you believe there are possibilities and that people have ideas, does not guarantee that Lego will take them up. And so what if Indy is popular. Batman is popular . Spongebob is popular. Harry Potter is popular. Those franchises actually have a larger fanbase, most likely larger than Indy (Batman and HP can be gauranteed). Global popularity does not guarantee a long lifeline of Lego sets. IMO, Star Wars died a long time ago, since all they do is just find new ways to release old sets. Indy is just something that comes and goes. -Omi

Brickforge is now officially going as well as a vendor. They were added last minute. :D Wooooo steampunk. -Omi

Not all video game movies are doomed to failure. And even when they are "bad" as you like to put it, they are still good. PoP has the potential to be successful, and here is why: - Based on a popular video game - It is a Disney movie - Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer - Directed by a not so bad director, Mike Newell - Has Alfred Molina and Ben Kingsley - Music is done by Harry Gregson-Williams That is a list of big names right there. And you're telling me that it is "doomed to fail". -Omi
-
They didn't skip over it. They just didn't have the license at the time. -Omi
-
Since when is anything the next big thing? You never can tell. Iron Man wasn't never like this, but when the movie came out, it was ridiculous with the marketing. That is the thing with pop culture, you can never predict it. PoP seems popular enough video game to be made into a movie, and right now we can't tell whether or not the movie will be a hit or miss. -Omi

Yeah but these days, Lego can do anything. -Omi
