  1. I've found some interesting news about the Unimog on a German online toyshop. It is more expensive than the excavator! Here is the text: LEGO 8110 Unimog U400 This versatile Mercedes-Benz Unimog U400 you are up for any challenge! He is not only the largest Technic model - but also the first that combines pneumatic power functions and in a model. It is equipped with a pneumatically powered, fully steerable, almost 360 degree rotating crane with gripper arm and a front winch - all driven by power functions. The unique design also features a fully functional control system, a highly detailed engine with moving pistons, a new gear box for high ground clearance and four-wheel-drive and suspension for extreme off-road ability. Crane and winch can be converted into a giant snow plow. With the combination of power and pneumatic functions you master the Unimog U400 every challenge! • Pneumatically powered, fully portable crane with gripper arm - driven by power functions. • Control of realism with 4-wheel drive and suspension for extreme off-road conditions • Detailed engine with moving pistons • New transmission block for additional ground clearance LINK
  2. On youtube there is a video of building the A model. The gearbox is technically interesting, but the functions seems boring. LINK
  3. According to an Italian webshop the Unimog will be more expensive than the excavator. It cost 189,9 EUR. Link
  4. At the webpage of a toystore in Hungary I read about the piececount of the sets. 4192-Fountain of youth-128 pieces 4182-Cannibal escape-279 pieces 4191-Captain's cabin 96 pieces 4193-The London Escape 463 pieces 4183-The mill 365 pieces 4181-Isla de Muerta 152 pieces 4195-Queen Anne's Revenge 1097 pieces, it will be huge Sory no info about Black pearl.
  5. Hey all Technic Fans! What do you think that the Unimog has a motorized turntable and stabilizers or not? I can't see any sign on the box. As the box shows it only has three pneumatic function (motorized pump) and motorized winch. It means that the motor operates two functions: 1. Compressor 2. Winch. Two PF function for a flagship model and at least 150 Euros is a total drama! It would be a real shame if the turntable wouldn't be motorized. I'm worried that we will pay for the useless license and not for the complexity and technical solutions.
  6. I've found theese set numbers and names at Brickset for summer: 8071-Bucket truck 8081-Extreme cruiser 8109-Flatbed truck 8110-Unimog U-400 Another cool year for Technic Lets start the discussion. Hope we soon get some pictures! EDIT: Added pics! 8110 Unimog U-400 8109 Flatbed Truck 8071 Lift Truck 8081 Extreme Cruiser
  7. I found a polish online store which has some information about the new sets. Short description of the functionality and the number of pieces. The 8069 Backhoe has working front and rear bucket and there will be new mini linear actuators. So the speculation of the mini LA is true. The backhoe has 609 pieces. So it could be bigger and better but since 2003 we haven't had an official backhoe so it can be interesting. I'm curious about how the new mini LA works. It will be very useful to make automated gearbox and can be good for making a precision steering with PF. The 8070 Supercar has abut 1289 pieces so it is quite a big set but im afraid not as big as the previous supercar models. I didn't find any info about transmission system the gearbox will be used for only the four functions. The trend is clear: TLG improves PF system and functions despite the old philosophy of modelling mechanical functions. The PF functions can also be interesting and complex and children prefer it much more. LINK
  8. I got a new M-motor today so I replaced the wrong one. At first the front double actuators didnt work there werent any movement !!! but I rebuild the whole gearbox very carefully. So the result is without any modification after second build: - the right track is a bit slower than the left one but it is not significant - movement is good - slewing works fine - digging functions also good except the main arm. The double actuators are slow but they can raise the arm. Lowering the arm is faster but it also can be better I'm very satisfied with tihis set. It is more complex than the 8258 Crane truck from last year. I really hope that TLG will make other complex Technic sets like this excavator. The build was ver interesting. I advise everybody to build very carefully because the whole model go wrong!!!
  9. I bought my 8043 yesterday. The building process was very interesting. But the dual actuators doesnt work and one of the M-motors doesnt work. It can be a connection problem because in some position of the wire it works. So I'm very dissapointed.
  10. I'm curious about if we can get the Service Pack for 8043 in regular shops? What do you think? Or we can just by it through Shop at Home.
  11. What about the sets on the shelves in regular shops? I dont want to buy this set by Shop at Home because of the shipping cost. How should I get this replacement part if I buy this set in a regular shop?
  12. I'm from Hungary. Two years ago when I was 23 I bought some castle sets because in my childhood castle was my favourite theme. But soon it was not enough, I wanted some challenging build and bought the 8258 Crane truck. I really enjoyed the build so I decided buying other large Technic models.
  13. Thats a great review for a phantastic well created Technic set! Thanks Blakbird! It is truly the king of the official construction machines in Lego Technic. The gearbox is very clever and it is automated what we never seen before in an offical set. Last year when building the 8258 gearbox I can't imagine that TLG will improve the gearbox technic so soon. Thats very good that the sets are going more and more complex. This one is in the top of power functions. The design is also very impressive. I think it is much more complex than the 8275 bulldozer. I hope TLG continue improving the PF system and next year we get a complex pneumatic backhoe with PF compressor or a supercar.
  14. In Hungary we get a price list for the 2nd half Technic models. The 8043 Motorized excavator is a bit cheaper than the 8275 Motorized bulldozer. I think it is valuable, because the 8043 is more complex than 8275 and it seems that it has very interesting technical solutions. The 8052 Container truck has the same price as the 8264 Hauler. The 8053 Mobile Crane is a bit more expensive than the 8265 Front end loader. Good year for Technic line. Interesting models (the 8043 is ) And the price is also good.
  15. Thanks for these very interesting news. Im very happy for returning of the pneumatic system. As an adult I started collecting Lego last year. I didnt have a set with pneumatics. I hope that in the second half of 2009 we will get a flagship with the combination of pneumatic and PF system. Something like the Air tech claw rig would be cool.
  16. The new buggy looks great ! It is different from the previous one. The helicopter is very simple. LINK
  17. Thanks for the very informative review of the Telescopic handler ! I know that TLC didnt made a telescopic handler before. I dont understand why Anio force his own opinion so angrily. This is a toy what made for kids. I think it is a good set. Good to improve kids creativity and interest to mechanical functions. This set has a great usable inventory that is good for adults who dont like the model. I dont want to tell this is a very good set but it is not poor.
  18. Thanks for the very informative review! The tractor part of the set is almost the same as the previous one. I'm thinking of buying it because I dont have its predecessor. I dont think it is just a TRU exclusive. It is available in my country (Hungary)but not in all stores. The trailer contains a lot of the new panels in a very interesting green colour. I think these panels are very useless in technic line yet but it makes a very good design of the Technic sets. I think this set is a bit expensive in comparison with this years great Front loader 8265.
  19. You can download the new B - models instructions from the official site of Lego Technic. LINK
  20. Hey all Technic fans ! The new technic models are at lego shop at home . The models are great and 8258 alternate also fantastic !! I became very excited when i saw them ! The 8258 contains 1877 pieces.
  21. Very lucky to buy these sets ! The minifigs are the best in space theme TLC ever made ! The Twins show their face: three eyes, its nice ! Wait to see pics of the vehicles.
  22. 8258 is the best technic set of this year. I dont think it is a SAH exclusive, although its very expensive. As the box shows, the set contains only one M - motor, a battery box and a polarity switch. So, the PF elements dont explain the price, whitch is a little higher than the Bulldozers price. I can only think it has a lot of pieces ( 1800+). Its a very complex model, because the only one M-motor controls four functions: working stabilizers, rotating the turntable and moving up and down the two linear actuators. Finally it has a V8 engine. Although Im not a big Technic fan Iwant to buy this because of the complexity ( long and interesting build) and the cool design.
