  1. With all the new bricks added to 4.2.5, many because of requests by us LDD users, I (well, it was actually Calabars idea ) thought we needed a new topic for brick requests. So fire away with your most wanted bricks. Please be sure to add a link to BrickLink (or include a small thumbnail) so it's easy to see which brick you are refereing to.
  2. And here is a LXF file with all the fixed bugs. If you see any of these that you reported it'd be intresting to know Also, if you see any fixes that will now enable you to update an official set, please do so. Calabar has to fill in on the procedures for this, but I guess updating your post the Official Sets topic is a good start. EDIT: @Aliewar9. I don't know about the thing Sjuip mentioned. He has to explain I guess FixedBugsIn425.lxf
  3. I added the new bricks in LDD Manager (a new version is due soon), and managed to generate the following LXF. For some reason it only has 179 bricks, when it should be 183. I also noticed the 54654 Plane End in the file, and as far as I know it was in 4.1.8 too. But it does now have the possibility to multicolor it. Besides that a lot of new nice bricks. Like this: 99207. Haven't seen that before. Also - check out the new train wheels: 85557 and 85558. Sweet! Download LXF below. NewIn425.lxf
  4. No parts deleted. One has been replaced though: 74695 is replaced by 60483. Any LXF that has 74695 in it, will automatically be replaced with 60483
  5. New version of LDD out today Massive amount of new bricks added LDD version 4.2.5 was released today, January 18th. As expected, the main difference to the previous version (4.1.8) is the removal of DbM and LEGO Universe modes. They have been replaced by LDD and Extended Mode. This means that there is no longer any need to manually activate Extended Mode - it's there out of the box. The lack of new features is more then counterweighed by the massive brick update: 183 new bricks and 70 brick bug fixes. Read more here
  6. Nice - even the download page go a new layout. Did some summaries: New bricks: 183 Bug fixes: 70 I don't think we've ever seen such massive update of bricks
  7. Thanks for posting the link. A super quick cross-check shows that many of the bricks we asked for have been added. That the panel 4737 is not there I understand is quite annoying. I've been told it is in the TLG system database, it just for some reason doesn't will not go into LDD DB.lif file. From what I understand it's beging investigated, but unfortunately with a low priority. Regarding decorations, I guess we have to find out out by the old click-and-watch method A picture of the new Welcome screen:
  8. The whole topic is full of information on what is known at the moment. Please read before asking!
  9. A new version of LDD (4.2.5) was released today, January 18th. I just downloaded it. As expected, the main difference to the previous version (4.1.8) is the removal of DbM and LEGO Universe. The DbM and Universe palettes have been replaced by a LDD palette and the Extended Mode palette. This means that there is no longer any need to manually activate Extended Mode - it's there out of the box. There are no new features compared to the previous version. On the other hand, a huge amount of new bricks have been added, along with new decorations and several brick bug fixes. I got a mail from Martin over at the LDD team who has compiled a "What's new" list specially for us hardcore LDD users - thanks for that Martin - and here are some stats for 4.2.5 (brickset version 604): New bricks: 2507, 3482, 3711, 3960, 4474, 4740, 6573, 10201, 11055, 47330, 47998, 53445, 53551, 54654, 55704, 56630, 56908, 57999, 58118, 60803, 60902, 62537, 64804, 72039, 72454, 72475, 74698, 74968, 76766, 76768, 85557, 85558, 85959, 85974, 87585, 87794, 87805, 87808, 87812, 87814, 87841, 89201, 90634, 91176, 92088, 92092, 92230, 92231, 92259, 92279, 92402, 92709, 92712, 92906, 92912, 93140, 93274, 93587, 93590, 93591, 93593, 93594, 93595, 93597, 93598, 93604, 93606, 94148, 94161, 95052, 95053, 95054, 95109, 95198, 95199, 95200, 95202, 95203, 95204, 95227, 95228, 95229, 95292, 95319, 95343, 95344, 95347, 95350, 95351, 95674, 95820, 96858, 96859, 96874, 96904, 96905, 96906, 96907, 96910, 97492, 97895, 97927, 98011, 98072, 98085, 98087, 98089, 98100, 98128, 98129, 98130, 98132, 98133, 98134, 98135, 98136, 98137, 98138, 98139, 98141, 98143, 98147, 98153, 98263, 98279, 98280, 98281, 98282, 98283, 98284, 98285, 98286, 98287, 98288, 98313, 98342, 98347, 98365, 98366, 98367, 98370, 98371, 98372, 98373, 98376, 98377, 98378, 98379, 98381, 98383, 98384, 98385, 98386, 98496, 98549, 98562, 98563, 98564, 98566, 98567, 98568, 98569, 98570, 98571, 98573, 98574, 98575, 98585, 98608, 98721, 98722, 98723, 98725, 98726, 98729, 99061, 99207, 99253, 99780, 99784, 99809, 99930, 601948 Bug fixes: 2376, 2447, 2464, 2617, 2642, 2655, 2853, 3176, 4034, 4036, 4080, 4218, 4219, 4492, 6005, 6059, 6060, 6072, 6089, 6252, 6253, 6256, 30047, 30163, 30164, 30171, 30175, 30340, 30361, 30366, 30407, 30601, 42511, 44570, 47543, 50254, 50747, 50990, 52258, 53792, 54654, 57779, 57999, 59363, 60614, 60896, 61406, 61483, 64394, 64644, 64645, 64680, 71075, 87687, 87693, 87806, 88292, 92092, 92586, 92903, 93064, 93575, 93598, 93604, 93606, 96904, 96905, 96906, 97492, 98574 Personally, I think it's great to see all the work that is going on with LDD behind the scenes at TLG. With this amount of new bricks and bug fixes, there seems no doubt that TLG is supporting LDD all the way.
  10. You've already said you are a bit worried here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=64968&view=findpost&p=1175187 No need to double post!
  11. From what I heard, it was due 18th January. But looking historically, sometimes releases has happened a day or two before or after the release date, so we'll just have to wait and see.
  12. I reported this to TLG and got a reply. It seems that after internal investigation, it turns out that it's an illegal build, so nothing wrong in LDD or in the bricks. This also means they won't "fix" the bricks in LDD, so the best option is probably to just leave out the cogwheel in the LXF-model and make a note about this in your post.
  13. Hang in there a day or two more, and the latest LDD release will be out. We've been told all bricks removed in the current release will be back.
  14. OK, super...glad it worked
  15. Done some investigations. Can you try this in the run window (or a command line): regsvr32 %windir%\system32\zipfldr.dll
  16. The base rule is that LDD MOCs that have a LXF-file attached go in the LDD section here at EB. This is because the MOC is more interesting for LDD users in general to examine, discuss etc with the LXF attached. But this is no absolute rule. If a member wants to explicitly have MOC with LXF-files in the Town section for example, then that's no problem. However, in this case, since there is no LXF, I'm moving it to the Town section.
  17. There will be a new version of LDD Manager now that the new LDD will be relased this week. I'll see if I can fix it until then
  18. I've PM Alopex, and we're talking about it
  19. Hello Kindly note that this is a forum for AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO). Please start a sentence with a capital letter and end with a period. Sorry to be a bit harsh about this, but those are the rules we have to maintain a high standard. Also, asking the same question that fast is concidered poor behavior on internet forums. You have to wait a bit. About compressing shock absorbers, that is not possible per se, but there is a workaround that you can read about here.
  20. No one is safe from Aanchir Keep up the good work Mr. Colorman
  21. Not really. But it has been reported to them a long time ago so they know about it. I can guess though that the fact that you need to put two identical halfes together (like you with the real thing as you slide them into the holder) is a tricky to accomplish in LDD. I mean, what kind of connectivity should you implement, since it's the same half used two times. Then I guess it's also a matter of creating a rotation point, but it shold only only be there when two halfes are together, just like the real thing. Hm...this ball and cup element is a real "bastard" in the LEGO System...I wonder why it was invented in the first place
  22. 1) Is because there is a collission error with 6536. The gear 6347 should rotate "inside" the indentations, but the 6536 in LDD is not correctly modelled. In other words a TLG error. 2) The whole black "middle" section (with the two 64781 13M Racks) seems to be off by a few tenths of a millimeter relative to the fuselage (mostly red beams). You see it when you zoom in and poke around a bit. This forces a collision and the yellow pin cannot be placed. Try to redo parts of the involved parts and it should work (I hope ) Cabin steps should be possible to place if you can "fine tune" the position of the rims. As it is now they snap to the technic pin at the predefined positions. However, the edge of the rim seems to be a bit off from the snap divisions. So you need to force it "of snap" if you understand what I mean. Two red roof tiles are possible to place if you rotate the rims by about 25 degrees. I'm not sure this is a brick bug. I actually think it might be an illegal build from TLG since the fit is so extremly tight (which you see if you do the 25 degree fix).
  23. Hi Unfortunately not. This is one of the few parts that need to be finished by TLG so that it is fully usable as intended. It's not even possible (as far as I know) to make a mock-up by free floating one of the ball halfes inside the holder.
  24. I haven't seen it reported, but I see what you mean. However, I'm wondering if this is not a problem with the fine positiong of the wheel on the 6587 cross axle. If you move the wheel on the axle, you see that it won't "jump" exctly snuggly towards the adjecent bricks, and then the step module will not fit. Can it be like that you think?
  25. @Calabar, there's nothing wrong with the dummy. But if you open the LXF and zoom in you see the following. Since the teeth are quite clearly going into each other that was why I was wondering if the build was legal or if it was a modelling error of the elements in LDD. @Sjiup - When the cogwheel is placed at a slight angle (like the green one), the colission boxes (cogs) don't touch the base of the teethed bar. However, when the wheel is placed 100% perpendicular (in the red case), the boxes (cogs) touch the teethed bar and won't fit. So my conclusion is instead that it is the cogs of the cogwheel that are too long, and not the teeth of the bar. Anyway, I'm reporting this littel sucker to TLG, and we'll see what they say.
