  1. Hi, Yes, I saw, so you mean that you like single wheels more, right? Then just what is your thought process for selecting double wheels? By the way, I like your trucks very much
  2. What do you think about the rear wheels, I mean twin wheels or singles? For my taste singles are too thin and twins are too heavy looking
  3. Ok, I know that I can edit the thread text, but not the title of it. ...oh, and thanks for correcting it, Blakbird, I guess it was you who did it
  4. Made a mistake in the title. Please, moderators here, delete the part "cars" from it.
  5. I can't start the poll yet, but I'd like to ask 3 questions: 1) You use some CAD software (and which one) to design a MOC virtually before building a real thing. 2) You don't use any CAD software during the whole MOC creation process. 3) Some combination of both methods. Any further comments welcome.
  6. Yes, maybe. I've just Googled for some cherry pickers, found something similar, and their length was about 6+ meters. Another way to calculate the scale may be comparing the models with the human body (scaled), maybe virtual, did not decided yet :)
  7. Believe me I don't want to look like an idiot here, I just share my opinion with you. I swear I like you and totally respect what you are doing :) And yes, same criticism goes to Crowkiller's cars either, though I spend lots of time studying yours websites, Youtube pages, etc. May I say that I like very much yours cars, but hope to see something more close to my taste. Currently I can't imagine myself doing anything similar, my skills is too far from that :) ...more correctly to say is not that I don't like them (sure I like them, since I'm a Lego geek), I just want them to be more smooth looking. ...sportcars are just crying for sleekness, and it seems to be just impossible to do a) in Lego Technic and b) in such a big scale. All that trucks and backhoes are much more forgiving for such cases.
  8. Let me suggest 8071 Bucket Truck is about 7 m. long in the real world, then the scale is about 1:25 here.
  9. Don't understand me so directly. I love Technic style. I mean 9395 or 9397 are logically smooth enough, 8070 = gaps. ...though my previous example with Ferrari's is better.
  10. I did not mean pinholes, just too many gaps everywhere
  11. I apologize for what I'm going to write, I respect the author so very much, his skills is obviously much higher then my... But, may I finally say, that I don't like that hollfull (many holes) supercar design. Anyone with me? Why so much hype about such builds? I mean that the demonstration of the engineering skills is great, but the whole impression is not so. The complexity of the functions make such cars appear in rather big scale, then you need too many parts to cover that, to make the body. Because such high count of the body parts the overall look of the vehicle is too "trash-style". That's why I believe 8386 Ferrari F1 Racer 1:10 is much more aesthetically balanced then 8674 Ferrari F1 Racer 1:8. The balance is the keyword. I can dream about a superfunctional LEGO supercar in a big scale with the body made just from a few sketchy soft axles, I'm sure it could look great and very stylish and logically proof.
  12. Yes, you right, but logic does not help here You see a truck and your brains cheats you, you see it as a big one.
  13. Just thought that it would be cool to have some information about the approximate scale of the official Technic models, maybe in the reviews or on the Bricklink. I've just got a 8081Extreme Cruiser which appeared to be much bigger then I could guess and also 8071 Bucket Truck which appeared to be a cute little car, really smaller then I could imagine after viewing the images, reviews, etc.
  14. What is your experience about this topic? Just recently read about cut axles, what else did you modify? Did you clue parts? If yes, what type of clue is the best for Lego? Also curious if anybody cut 2739a link to adapt them to some connectors (to make them shorter-longer)?
  15. I voted "nothing" at first and now I reconsider and selected "EUR 10". I really could pay it but only for something absolutely exceptional and extraordinary. And easy to get parts for. There are two scenarios I can see: 1. Some official sets alternative models instructions. Or, what may be a great idea, from two recent sets. 2. It must be a small set(s), something like that very cool (except the last ones) Creator small sets, for which it is easy to get parts right from one seller on the Bricklink.
  16. Thats seems to be my biggest request. I see, I never did a screenshot from LDD that's why I was wondering why there is no a background picture as in LDD viewer )))
  17. Nazgarot, yes, very good. I see, though yours hubs are custom, you use combinations with 57515 a lot... ...some offtopic, how do you make pictures? LDD > LDD to POV-Ray converter > POV-Ray?
  18. Great build, obviously. What make me wonder very much is how you guys let your Lego's ride on dirt and on rocks which scratches them? Are you really don't care? Or you are so rich that you can order new parts anytime? When I was a child all my toys (not Lego) were very soon broken because I played them heavy, often outdoors. Now I'm 37, and I enjoy my quite new Lego hobby, and I love my toys, I keep them in their shiny mint condition. I plan to get some PF soon and to build some RC cars and sure I'll use them indoors only, low speed, not sure if I'll even let them ride on the floor
  19. Thats strange. Actually I've got the 8386 "Ferrari F1 Racer 1:10" for display purposes and I noticed that the turning radius is extremely sharp. It use x873c01 in combination with 32195b.
  20. Hi, Recently I've got just a pair of 6571 and considering getting some other ones on the Bricklink, such as x873c01, 11949, 11950 or 92908c01. There is one more option to go - to make a custom wheel hubs from Lego parts using single axle connection (I prefer using 44772 56mm D. x 34mm Technic Racing Medium wheels). I heard some complains about the 11949, 11950 so instead of getting them all and testing by myself I decided to ask what do you think about them all?
  21. But what for is that chimney pipe?
  22. It looks so much better without the stickers! I don't own it myself so I can't compare, but you did a great job, especially "Yellow pieces changed to black or gray" and the front spoiler.
