  1. Zombie is amazing! Something I never, EVER thought I'd see from LEGO!
  2. Y'know, I just noticed that the lineup does NOT include the blue-anime-hair shown on the business cards on BrickJournal. Curious. Series 2 preview already...?
  3. I don't know what #13 is, but his Emo-Kid hair is going to be PERFECT for MOCing some of my favorite young actors. I really hope that the bags contain random figures and NOT random parts, however. The idea of random parts in bags seems neither kid-friendly nor parent-friendly to me, and the idea of buying dozens of bags and failing to find all the parts to build the zombie or whoever does not appeal to me in the slightest.
  4. What B1G1@50% are you talking about?
  5. If Ras said it, then I certainly believe it. Given the focus and screentime Bariss has had in Clone Wars this year, it's pretty logical to include her in a set.
  6. I think Lego could make some really cool stuff in a POTC theme. Imagine a giant Kraken, unlike that pathetic Kraken we got this year? Plus huge ships for Jack Sparrow, Barbosa, and Davy Jones! I think POTC absolutely has the potential to make some cool, unique, and original sets.
  7. Well, LEGO Indy is the obvious one, since several sets have already been clearanced out in stores as well as S@H, including Shanghai Chase. I'd imagine ALL the Lego Indy sets will be gone by year-end. Also, there are quite a few US sales for Black Friday. Indiana Jones Temple Escape $42 at Toys R Us Clone Wars Twilight $59 at Toys R Us Agents Mobile Command Center $53 at Toys R Us Troll Warship $50 at Target Indiana Jones Crystal Skull Temple $50 at Target
  8. After initially being put off, I am now totally in love with the Atlantis theme! Checked my local Toys R Us today with no success, but I will check the one near my job in the morning. Cannot wait to get these!!
  9. I'm not sure I really understand. The only stores that have the Death Star are S@H and Lego Stores. If I remember correctly, S@H offered 10% off and free shipping last Black Friday. Lego Stores had a scratch off card where you could scratch off to get a mystery percentage off. If that helps?
  10. I want one. VERY disappointed we're not getting this awesome calendar in the US.
  11. I believe he meant that TLG would SHOW the Tantive IV at SDCC, not have it as an exclusive. An exclusive of that magnitude is unthinkable.
  12. I think that having a portion of Lego sets be licensed is EXTREMELY HEALTHY for Lego. Like it or not, the fact that they can get a Lego Clone Gunship or a Lego Temple of Doom makes a lot of kids interested in Legos who otherwise would not be. Licensed sets are vital to Lego's continued success, so I like seeing a good mix of licensed and original Lego sets.
  13. But the Visual Dictionary *ISN'T* "up for grabs" at SDCC. In fact, the description purposefully notes that it won't be available until October 10th, and even those who win the book in the show's contest won't get it until October 10th. "Thursday, July 23 1:30 - 2:30 PM: LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary (Room 8) Ten years ago in a galaxy not far away LEGO and Star Wars came together! Find out how such an amazing partnership was formed from Jonathan Rinzler (Executive Editor, Lucasfilm) and Rob Johnson (Art Director, The LEGO Group), while Simon Beecroft (Author and Publishing Manager, DK Publishing) doles out all sorts of information on the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary. Collectors and fans won't want to miss the unveiling of the exclusive LEGO Star Wars minifigure that will be released with the book on October 10, 2009. The first 50 attendees will receive DK swag and be entered to win a LEGO Star Wars set and a free copy of LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary upon its release." Am I missing something here?
  14. I don't see why it would. Lego will still want to have a set to sell at their booth, after all.
  15. I checked with the West Nyack, NY LEGO Store again today, and was informed that they will not be receiving the new Star Wars or Indiana Jones sets this week either. The manager said to check back Monday. At the rate things are going, I may just say the hell with it and order off S@H and pay the shipping fees.
  16. Whoever proposed this act is a fool. There is no legal way to prevent people from reselling their possessions that they have legally purchased.
  17. I'm terrified Castle will go away, as that's one of my favorites. I think Space Police is doomed, personally.
  18. Why would a company ever draw attention to increasing prices? I manage a business, and I can't imagine advertising INCREASING prices. It just don't make sense. Of course Lego prices will go up a bit over time--that's just inflation. I'm just grateful Lego prices have remained as consistent as they have with subtle increases, unlike toy companies who have had to raise prices on action figures such as Star Wars by over 60% in the last 3 years.
  19. I won't know for sure until I build this, but I don't think it's anywhere NEAR as nice as the Republic Fighter Shuttle, which costs the same amount.
  20. I checked with the West Nyack NY Lego Store today, and the new sets absolutely WILL NOT be in this week. They said to check back on Tuesday, but they've seen no indication they'll be available in that shipment either. Bummer.
  21. Toys R Us pays Lego to receive the sets first, so they will be the first store (other than S@H and Lego Stores) to receive them. As of yet, I haven't heard even one report of the new Star Wars or Indy sets being found in any stores besides S@H though.
  22. I would think they'd HAVE to pause on the Clone Wars stuff soon. They've done a set now for virtually EVERY single Clone Wars vehicle that was featured prominently in season 1 and the movie. Heck, even insignificant vehicles like the Pirate Tank have been done! Adding EPI-VI stuff to the mix seems like it'd be a necessity at this point.
  23. Looks interesting, but is it possible to get a picture of this next to another vehicle (preferably another Falcon) to clearly see the scale? The picture with the minifigs help, but pictures with another vehicle would really help...
  24. Considering the summer sets for Agents, Castle, etc. have been out at retail for over a month now, shouldn't the Star Wars sets also be starting to show up?
  25. *HEART ATTACK* God, that set is awesome. It's between this and the Temple of Doom for my favorite set of 2009, which is saying A LOT with all of the unique and amazing things we're seeing this year! I love me some Ewoks, and can't WAIT to add this to my collection at full price. Hurry up, Lego!
