Minifig Customization Workshop Contest
Jasbrick replied to LuxorV's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Sounds like fun... I suppose I had better keep the figs I have just done under wraps for a bit then. Jasbrick -
Thanks. Will Chapman at www.brickarms.com gave me some amazing prototypes to play with. The minigun is a personal favourite of mine. Jasbrick

Group shot: Close up of a few of the figs: And for fun here is my Post-Apoc Monkey warrior ;-P: Hopefully you like them. Jasbrick

Hi, I have not posted here for a little while as I have been a bit busy. However here are my latest hand-painted figs: There are close ups of these and a load of other figs that I have done since last posting on my Flickr stream link below. Jasbrick

Well it is customary ;-) I love the idea, picture Gungans running around with targets on their backs! better get my paintbrushes out. Jasbrick

Thanks... yes the weapon is a sawn-off double barrelled shotgun prototype provided by Will Chapman at www.brickarms.com Jasbrick

With increased Zombie activity within the lego community I have decided to create a team of highly trained figs that are well versed in the arts of zombie busting. Here is the first member of the team as a preview of what is to come: and from another angle: Jasbrick :skull:

She is happy now: ..... maybe it was pre-wedding jitters.... or the fact that the groom was holding a machete?!? Jasbrick

Some of you may have seen my previous Mandalorian warrior... and also know that he was inspired by a picture of a Mandalorian wedding. Well here he is again with his bride: Here is a close up of the female Mandalorian: Jasbrick

Sorry, but no. I am too attached to him. Jasbrick

Sorry guys... I normally respond to comments, I just did not realise that this was here as well. I am very pleased that you like him, he is one of a series I created to simulate various historical military units. I may produce a few others in this era. Thanks... yes it is all painted. Am I right in thinking that painting is generally considered a bad thing? Anyway thanks everyone for the comments. Jasbrick

Here is my version of a member of the British 95th Rifles. These guys were reknowned for their unconventional skirmish warfare practices during the wars of the Napoleonic era, utilising sharpshooter tactics to eliminate the command elements of enemy formations. Most people will know of this unit due to the Sharpe television series. Anyway here he is: And a different angle: The body is hand painted and the rifle is a modified brickarms rifle. Jasbrick

Games Workshop Paints, which do stay on well as long as you use a proper undercoat and a varnish. Jasbrick

Hi, I apologise for creating a new topic... but somebody on Flickr earlier today suggested that I do a Rogue Trooper fig... and my biggest challenge was representing his gun. For those that don't know Rogue Trooper is a genetically engineered soldier that has autonomous equipment (Gun, Helmet, Backpack) that are controlled via the personality of dead colleagues using an imprint from their dog tags... all very complicated, but not as complicated as creating a gun that can move and shoot of its own accord. The answer to the problem was a combination of BA monopods and bipod that created a telescopic stand for the gun that I scratch built from parts. Anyway here is Rogue Trooper with his Gun and Hat: And here is just the gun and hat separately: Jasbrick

Colonel Dan Dare (Eagle comic 1987)
Jasbrick replied to Jasbrick's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Rather than creating a new topic I thought I would add another Comic hero here: With my previous Dan Dare (which only a seemed to recognise... which is a sad indication of my age) I thought I would show you another of my childhood comic heroes in Minifig form... here is Johnny Alpha the Strontium Dog, one of the meanest bounty hunters in the galaxy: Jasbrick -
Yes... historical accuracy was the main concern. Colour co-ordination was a close.... 5th ;-) Oh the joys of camo, if only it did not look so messy! Jasbrick

Colonel Dan Dare (Eagle comic 1987)
Jasbrick replied to Jasbrick's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
He He... yes. I think he is closer to my era. The fig here is an exact replica of an Annual cover for 1987 that is why he looks the way he does. The Green headed fella is called the Mekon. Thanks Jasbrick -
Hi, EDIT: Check below for another fig (Strontium Dog) I am going to try and group my posts rather than spamming the forum (please accept my apologies Mods)... that being said the following does not fit with any of my previous posts, so this is my last misdemeanor... honest! In contrast to all the historical figs I have been posting I thought I would do a fig from my own childhood... this guy is Colonel Dan Dare. He was from the Eagle comic that I read as a boy and loved the adventures of this amazing character. Anyway for the older members of the forum here is my version of Colonel Dan Dare: And at a slightly different angle: Jasbrick

Thanks, yes the PPSh is a fantastic Brickarms that Will Chapman gave me to test... it is so amazing I had to produce this fig to hold it. Jasbrick

Here are a few new figs for my WWII theme. First I have a T34 Crew member armed with a PPSh-41: Secondly I have a young Partisan named Marat Kazei, who was the second youngest person to be awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union (posthumously): Jasbrick

I was messing around earlier with a few WWII concepts and I came up with a B-17 pilot with his planes decoration repeated on his Aviator Jacket. Unfortunately he has had to bail out over occupied territory and has subsequently been captured by a German officer armed with a Luger. I hope you like him. Jasbrick

Here is my version of a British Para during the Arnhem Operation in 1944: Jasbrick
