That is friggin' incredible. They way the whole thing is presented propels it from being good to fantastic. I would so buy that.

I was actually glad how well received that twist was. I was a little worried posting that at first because of how people would take it, most of the readers just said how surprising and real a twist it was.

Yeah, that was sort of the point of You were very, very right about Javian not getting enough attention for being the supposed main character, and that sort of bugged me. So congratulations, you had influence on the comic! Just so you are aware, some of the people on another forum I post this comic on would officially hate you, given how ticked off they were about the end of arc two.

Petition: We want the Pirates Advent Calender in the United States
Jlblue replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hmmph. I was still in the process of consideration of whether it was worth it, but I would at least like to have an option. Hopefully these types of petitions will not be exclusive to here and we'll bug them enough until they cave. Signed. -
I understand you have a pretty massive list of artwork to do, but if I could just add one more to that list... That's this head with black hair, in case you were wondering.

A piece of brilliance, if you ask me. Captures such a depressing look into a country unlucky enough to be ravaged by a war. The details are incredible. Though the news reporter smiling as she stands in front of a completely distraught city really tells a lot about her character.

I do try to update it a lot, mainly because I never really know when I'm going to have a long period of time when I'm unable to make any updates. But I don't have any type of schedule.

Wow, that was really well animated, not to mention entertaining. No way I could ever find the patience to do all of those frames. My only complaint was around 0:11 the first door on the left started randomly opening and shutting itself.

I'll tell you one thing, it's good to have legitimate criticism, especially when I post it in other places and most people just tell me how wonderful I am. Which I don't mind, per se, but it gets annoying. I am glad you noticed the influence I took from good, dramatic TV series. The main idea for the arcs was basically that they were like seasons, each one of them would have their own stories that would build on the last. Javian not talking much is just his character. My idea for him was just a rather calm, silent guy that could go nuts in combat if the wrong buttons are pushed. Lately I've found that it can be difficult to have him still be the main character, especially when I need Lex, as captain, to do a lot of the leadership stuff, but I do have plans to try and put more focus on him. Another thing I've sort of been struggling with is the "pointless" action scenes, like you sort of mentioned. Ones against random enemies thrown in there just to have an action scene that episode, which is something that I'm coming to realize now is sort of stupid, especially when now I'm more confident in my ability to have a more character-driven episode that develops them more, and does not require any action. The ship-to-ship by opening doors is because of the boarding tubes, which is how pirates raid ships, they latch the tubes from their airlock to another airlock, and as soon as it's airtight, they go. I will admit the locked up for two years was sort of odd... I think at some point I planned on having an explanation for that, but I guess I never got around to really having it in there. During the second arc, I found a better method to make the intro screens. It makes them much clearer. Thank you for the compliments and criticism, hopefully you'll continue reading and I'll continue to improve.

Yeah, the first episode isn't exactly my favorite, and the cutting back to before the events of the episode is something that goes away in later episodes. Plus I found it tough to introduce everyone at once, which is why some characters get their first real character development in later episodes.

This is a comic I've been working on for a little while, which basically boils down to a crew of space pirates in the year 2362. It's usually a pretty lighthearted, comedic action comic, but there are definitely episodes with a darker tone. Link. Enjoy. Edit: My website's officially shut down to a wide variety of reasons, so now the best place to be viewed would be brickshelf. Please use the following link: New Link!

Galactic Paranoia: The Conclusion
Jlblue replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Come to think of it, I think the main thing that prevented this from being a good game under my rule was the fact that there were no clues. None. At all. At least, none that were humanly possible to actually detect. You guys were stuck just... guessing. -
Galactic Paranoia: The Conclusion
Jlblue replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Things ended up in a very different direction than what I had originally planned. I wish that I could have gotten the opportunity to host this at another time, when I wouldn't have to rush through everything and only keep half an eye on this and keep the rest of my attention elsewhere. I realized quickly that one needs to devote all attention to a mafia game if they so happen to be involved in it. Maybe sometime, eventually, I'll try my hand at mafia games again. -

Hmm... You're right... I'll fix that up sometime, but right now I need to get going. -

You're running this far better than I was... By the way, all the "dead" avvies are up, so you can just change them by taking the normal Url and adding "_dead" after them. -

I'll definitely be interested in seeing how this plays out... After all, I myself am running a bit dry on ideas, and I hope that this should refresh those ideas. (Here's your dead image, by the way) -

All right, I'm done taking night actions. I'll get the next day up soon. -
I suspected he would be a detective. I suppose just because of the way he seemed to point out potential mafia members from the first day. I assume the bulletholes in the wall are the same caliber, no? Also, if it's a clean chest, perhaps it was moved there post murder? Can we try to move it?

All right, all right. I guess I'll give it another shot. I guess I'll have Shadows as a co-host. If anybody else is willing to pitch in anymore help I'd be relieved. By the way, I still need a whole bunch of night actions from people, which is the reason for the delay in the first place. Sorry, I guess I'm just a bit stressed. -

I can't do this. Seriously, I've been lying to myself the whole time. Now is the wrong time for me to run this, and I think it shows. The roles are bland and the waits are long, and the whole thing doesn't have that well crafted delicacy that most mafia games on this forum have. I'm done. Just please don't make me the reason if you choose to make games staff-only. Don't let me ruin their fun. -
The Watchmen (The Crew and Villains)
Jlblue replied to Capt. Kirk's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I like them a lot, but I do have one complaint about Dr. Manhattan's facial expression. If you ask me, he shouldn't have the little sneer you gave him. He's always very passive and uncaring, and I think you made him too angry. -

Why, oh, why do people keep voting along with their night actions? How it irritates me so. -

Okay (not ok-ey) dokey, then, will do. I'll edit it in whenever possible. I imagine it's much easier to run a game when you can lock a thread on a whim and then reopen it, but having multiple mods participating in your game does help.
