  1. Thanks guys, I'm glad you like it! In my original plans I had two circular supports on each side that the buildings clung to the higher up it went. But with the space I had and the ability to build easy circles it evolved into this instead.
  2. This is my second fantasy/castle creation: the Castle Bridge. The old bridge was said to have been build by the giants and spans the wide canyon of Medelus. As the canyon separated two great kingdoms the beige became a center of trade and cross-cultural interaction. As traders and farmers and armies crossed the bridge a vibrant community began to build their homes on, under, and into the bridge. Now it isn't only old masonry that holds the bridge up but a combination of years and years of construction. The left side is one of vibrant color and life. A decade ago a huge arched building covered the bridge and became a base of shops but now it has crumbled to stubs and new houses fill it's windows. The kingdom on this side is one of trade and open air markets. The right side is the fortified end. The kingdom that over looks this side has always been more interested in battle than peaceful living. A tall tower overlooks this end and makes sure no one that the kingdom doesn't want crosses over the bridge. A windmill on this side also supplies grain to the soldiers that have to live on the tower. The bridge is life to a whole rash of different personalities. There are tumblers, and shop owners, and knights crossing the bridge, even a princess or two. Hope you like it! Comments and criticisms are welcome!

  5. So this is my first SHIP and one of my first space creations at all! Inspired by some of the recent SHIP that have been finished recently, namely the Manticore and the Calamity Jane, I wanted to build my own. After researching SHIPs and concept art for awhile I came to the idea of building a vertical Alien vessel. So this still keeps to the over 100 stud standard, in fact unless you count the complete length of the tentacles base to the the very top of the antennae is almost exactly 100 studs. The SHIP has 2 lazar turrets, 2 mini hangars with small attack craft, 2 airlocks, 2 missile bays, and four decks, as well as the four tentacles. The ship is meant as a highly maneuverable battle ship that can snag other ships and crush them with the four strong tentacles. The attack craft are of a similar design. They're supposed to be extremely fast and maneuverable but lack strong armor or weaponry beside two melee tentacles. The SHIP has four detailed decks including a weapon control station, main bridge, stasis beds, and airlock chamber.   8. Hmmm. I have to say that the fact that the skin hasn't changed from the Hallowe'en one for me means that I'm not as excited about this as the rest of you.

  14. Thanks everyone. I've just decided for reasons of accessibility and ease of reconstruction I'm going to split the command area into three parts. Hangar, command deck, and roof.
  15. I've updated the photos with my new progress. Since it's spring break I'll try to get a lot done.
  16. Yeah I hope I can find a way to hide the red as well. The color scheme is basically black grey and trans-light green. And the support has been reenforced some what, though it will probably have to be reenforced even ore by the end. That part is very much a WIP.
  17. I like that name! Any one else got any ideas? Scorpiox: It's going to be minifig scale, and yes thats a fig down there. That's one of the fighters. The aliens are the Life on Mars aliens since those are the only ones I have a lot of.
  18. No main theme. Just general alieness. Though you could say the new Galactic Conquest sets inspired it a bit.
  19. I was recently inspired to create my first SHIP. Since it is my first any advice, especially on good ways to support it, would be great. Here an old version to give you an idea of the general shape: After a couple tries at this I decided building it in modules would make it easier to change and build, as well as transport later in it's life. (Here's an old version showing the old one part command area.) In the front you can see were the laser cannons are going on the bottom. Here you can see the back side. Down at the very bottom are the hangars with ships inside. You can also see where the engines will attach as well as the curvature at the top of the airlock section. I'm probably going to shorten the top airlock module so I don't have to worry so much about how to finish the curve. Here's a shot of one of the hangars and the back of one of the fighters. The fighter simply attaches to the magnet on the ship and hangs there. (These haven't been changed a whole lot.) So close! The interior is almost the only thing left to do! The tan thing besides it is a 100 stud measuring stick and you can see that the SHIP or at least the antennae are taller than it! A true SHIP! Proof of 100+ studness: UPDATE: We have an interior now!     Hey, thanks! It's funny that not many people have done hills since they make for a lot of cool scenes. But they do get quiet tricky for positioning the building as well as doors and other stuff. I had to make sure the doors could open and all details were far enough above the street. Support also became a big problem because the hill only has support on the ends and sides making it very fragile. (No breaks yet though!)

    THanks a lot everyone! I haven't seen Bullitt but it sounds very similar and I drew a lot of influence from Driver: Parallel Lines so it's funny you mentioned it! Glad you enjoyed it!

  25. Thanks Peter! As to the instructions there have been educated guesses to how it's played. I don't know how accurate the one I have is but it works well.
