  1. I haven't seen any Series 1 anywhere in CHCH for weeks. Have seen Series 2 at the warehouse though. If you want series 1, grab them fast!
  2. Yeah, that grey sandy-silt stuff is rather odd. I didn't personally have any on my property but I was out in the Student group going around cleaning it up. It's a good thing to do seeing as we all have no School or Uni Depending on who you talk to, There are definately more expected as a result. There are 2 major fault lines that run through the city, So people think that a big quake in one may trigger another. I'll just hope and pray that there's not And about the others, They're fine on the scale of things I think. You can read more bout experiences over in the NZ topic but Nothing too bad I beleive Yes. But none the less, It's intresting. Yeah, Some time to rebuild ahead. It's a shame the Death star is such a boring build
  3. You may be right, But I'm sure you could word it a bit more nicely Anywho, to answer your question, I beleive some of these mis-mold may have snuck into 6212 X-wings. It was never a proper part, It's a mis-mould of the original part. Hope this helps :)
  4. Nice to see the New Collectable figs out and around. I keep looking at them, but as cool as they are, I can't help but see that at $5 a pop, that money could definately be put to better use other places in my collection, unfortunately. On that note, I'm looking to expand my part collection. I am therefore looking for bulk bricks and plates. I know Eurobricks probably isn't the place to ask, as you're all wanting more too, but I thought I might as well ask. Would like to trade(I'm sure I'd have something you want...) but I may pay cash, depanding on what you've got. Cheers guys
  5. There's Lego tree's now? Awesome - I may well do. I went to the US earlier this year but didn't find any leaves. Got plenty of stalks though I wish I lived in the US (OK, only on the lego front - I love NZ ). ACPin, If you ever get the chance at bulk cheap leaves, Don't hesitate to PM me Also, the more I look, I must congratulate you on you're brilliant use of Grey Vs Bley. You actully made it look nice
  6. The sets look intresting. It looks like they got a 5 year-old to draw some 'space ships' then got their top designers to design them. Sure, that does mean that they'll probably sell well, but dissapointing none the less - I won't be getting them. I'm quite dissapointed that this is what Star Wars has become, but either way, the designs aren't bad. I'll be picking up a good few of the Naboo set no doubt, but I think the rest look pretty bleak to me. I'll have to get some of those figs somehow though A bit dissapointing, But I have high hopes for some more OT/PT sets later on in the year.
  7. Wow Once again, epic work as usual ACPin . Wonderful creation. You're work is always such good inspiration for us all. Well done, once again. Thanks for sharing this piece of art! I'm slowly managing to build up my part collection, But Where do you get so many leaves? Everywhere I go to get them they're so expensive! Awesome stuff
  8. Hey guys. I'm looking to hopefully buy or trade for some Mindstorms NXT gear and/or Technic PF gear. Anything from Mindsensors to E-lab equipment (so almost anything). Let me know what you've got and I'm probably intrested. I'd prefer to trade; I have heaps of older Star wars stuff I'm wanting rid of and have the odd few other set and peices too. Let me know what you've got and we'll hopefully sort something out. I've been a member on here 5+ years, I'm on the SS list, and live in New Zealand. Let me know, Cheers folks
  9. Ok, good to hear. It's quite intresting really. Some places are absolutely fine while others are almost leveled. All the best mate
  10. That set really has truely failed hasn't it? How are you going man? Please do give me a yell If I can help out at all. How bad was the damage around your place?
  11. Yeah, They're fine. It really only hit the Christchurch area, and they're both in the North Island, where it was barely felt. I'm more worried for my fellow Christchurch members, like evil_elmo and such. Lego is definately secoundary - I really only posted it because this is a lego forum. I'm praying for the rest of the city's rebuilding. Although I personally haven't seen most of it, as we're being told not to go out, if we can avoid it.
  12. I totally agree. I (and my family) have been incredably lucky, we're all OK. My lego is nothing. Quite a few houses need to be totally rebuilt. My room isn't even mine at the moment, I'm staying in my brother's room because we have another family staying with us who have been evactuated from their nailed house. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand that I can't talk - My life isn't totally ruined
  13. Hello Eurobricks. Now that I have a bit of spare time (cerfew around the city) and internet is availible, I thought I would take a quick minute to share with you what may happen, should you be in an earthquake. I woke up yesterday morning at around 4:30. I wasn't quite sure what woke me, I violent shake of the quake, or the crashing sound of lego around me. None the less, I was awakened, and if I'm honest, then yes, I was scared. At first I had no idea what was happening (Hey, it was 4:30 AM, I was tired ), but the earth was shaking and my heart had nearly poped out of my chest. About 25 secounds later, It clicked to me. I was in an earthquake. Then came a secound massive shake, and I was under a doorframe. Shakes continued through the night but nothing like those first 2. I was quite lucky. I live in Chrstchurch, New Zealand. And In New Zealand we have a building code that ensures building are quake-safe, as all of NZ is in quite a Quake-prone area. Therefor, My family's house is OK, Unlike some of the other, older buildings: A few roads aren't too great either: (I take no credit for those pictures, I got them Off friend's Facebook pages) Then, There's my lego... All In all, I got off very lightly damage-wise. You can see various parts of various sets over the place, But it could have been far worse. None the less, I still think thats a solid 12,000 Pieces on the floor. But at least I still have a house, and now have Power and water... Enjoy :)
  14. Yeah man I'm OK but it was pritty Intense! Pritty scary, but quite a fun experience too, In it's own right. My lego collection is a pile of rubble that will take me weeks to months to rebuild, but for now We need to focus of the more important things. We've only just recently got our power back which is nice, but fresh water is the big problem right now. Hope all you other CHCH folk are alright. I was quite lucky - our house is still intact! When I get some free time later on I'll show you what a lego display-room looks like after a 7.1 earthquake... Pritty crazy Better be off though, may update you all later
  15. I don't think there was a standardised sale. It was just randomly selected Items. All sorts of SW, CITY, POP, Atlantis - Some great prices. Not sure about GG's fighter. They did have it, but I'm not sure if it was on sale. May be worth checking though. Those prices were from Farmers but I restricted myself to just buying 1 wampa cave Yeah, If I was feeling rich I would probably have brought An ARC, Slave, Shuttle, and secound wampa cave. But A) I wasn't, and unfortunately, B) I'm not
  16. Picked up 8089 Wampa Cave yesterday 25% off :)
  17. Isn't $230 RRP for the ATAT? Anyho, Some quite good sales around for those intrested. 25% off City at the warehouse, and farmers Have good sales scattered around. I picked up a Wampa cave for $75, 25% off, which was nice. They had 25% off the Slave 1 - now $150, and 20% off Palpitines shuttle - now $120. Heaps of other sales around too. Arc-170 was 1/3 off, down to $100, heaps of other sales around too. Would have bought a few Echo bases too if they were on sale, but I couldn't tell, there were no tags up. I could have easily spent far more, but I restricted myself to 1 wampa cave. Anything else?
  18. Intresting. I thought I'd herd that the City house was seen at farmers, but I'm guessing thats wrong, as I haven't seen it anywhere yet either... It be out and around soon enough though
  19. Just used the Euro codes. I haven't seen them yet
  20. It still is supposed to be around a week till they're availible In stores, but I made this so you'll be all set for the secound they hit the shelves Good luck folks
  21. Just finished this for those intrested :) 8684 Barcodes
  22. They're not availible anywhere yet, Give it a couple of weeks though and they'll be everywhere
  23. Very intresting question. To be honest, I'm not totally totally sure. In my current mindset, I would definately not re-purchase everything. For a solid 8 years or so I collected Star wars lego to death, Collecting at least one of every set they released, and It took the release of the step-too-far-CW sets to make me realize that there's no way I'm going to keep buying every set for the sake of it. Since then, I've only been collecting the sets hat I really like and could use, that would make a positive difference to my collection. I Now have probably 40+ sets that sit in boxes under my bed, which I even currently would love to sell, and an Earthquake would actully make it quite a bit easier to get rid of. I would definately re-collect all my UCS sets, and a lot of the modern nice sets, along with a lot of the classics. Mot of the older stuff I Find a burden. It sits in those boxes waiting for absolutely nothing other than to be eventully sold. I think I would Re-buy about 60% of my stuff, as it means a lot to me. However there is this a lot that I wouldn't be bothered with. One of the other points, however, Is that I've always wanted to start getting set up for life early, and my plan was alays to buy a house while I'm young, and the odd $30,000 my collection is worth, could make quite a nice deposit on a house. If it really came down to an earthquke, I think I'd agree with Ronconator. A) The lego probably wouldn't be all that damaged in an earthquake, and B) there would be more important things to worry about. If it really came down to it, It would depend where my life was at. If it happened in 5 years, I would be 20, probably have a girlfriend, and having a family would matter quite a bit more than it currently does to me, so would probably be more intrested in putting that money towards a house, but even then I would still look at buying the odd set or two that I have absolutely loved from my past. Including probably the Effiel tower, MMV, and a few UCS sets. Definately a very intresting question though, something I've often though about. Not sure wether this should be influencing my current habit or not, but it definately is very intresting to ponder... Thanks for starting a great topic Allan!
  24. Awesome, I'll look into it once it's released to the main US public
  25. It may be worth Importing a group of 3 from the States or something for harmacy, evil_elmo and me
