  1. You have some great ideas for your first ship. As I read through this I was wondering if you're going to use only retro redcoats or maybe new ones? Also is there going to be an upper deck or just the one like Brickbeard's Bounty? To address your problem with putting windows on the diagonal part this is what I do on my cabins. It is hard to see with this picture but if you need a better picture I will post it. That technique might be too complex for your first ship (it was too complex for mine) but your cabin is great as it is.
  2. The Yellow Jacket is the fastest imperial ship in the new world. It has one simple job: destroy all pirate vessels. With ten cannons and its smaller size, the Yellow Jacket is the bread and butter of the empire. I got really tired of looking at Brickbeard's Bounty so I decided to build another imperial ship to go along with the Empress and this is what I came up with. Please leave constructive criticism.
  3. This is awesome. I love how much it fits into the theme and looks like the sets. It is simple yet extremely detailed. Amazing job!
  4. Ha that's funny! I like the servant and all the food and rum around the pirate couple. I have to say that your recent mocs are showing a building skill improvement.
  5. The pirates are the good guys. What kid honestly wants to go around enforcing the imperial law? They want to go around raiding towns, stealing treasure, and destroying all that the imperials have worked for. When I was a kid the pirates were the good guys.
  6. Contests are great ways of improving your building skillz. I love when the extraordinary builders such as Sir Nadroj enter because it shows the skill level to strive for to keep up with them. My best mocs have come out of contests. You should get creative and build any idea that pops into your head. If you do that by the time the contest arrives you will be one of the best!
  7. The king was dying of a disease when the twins were young. He didn''t know one was evil.
  8. When the king was writing his will he encountered a major problem. Who would get his land? He couldn't choose his eldest son because he had twins. So he decided to divide the land in two and let each son get a half. One twin took the good route and the other, evil twin took the bad route. Now look what has happened....... 9. Figures do fit inside I made sure of that.
  10. Vig. 78c This should be the final governor's mansion moc. I thought it was appropriate to built more of an estate for my governor instead of only a mansion. The estate includes gardens, the first tennis court in the new world, a beautiful fountain, stables and a boat house. I don't know if I will keep the water snot. I am going to need as many blue bricks as possible for the rest of my port's water. Governor Raul and some top generals playing an intense game of croquet. The governor's guard gators The first tennis court in the new world. Looks like the Spanish are beating the British! But look the British have a third player. The boat house I hope you enjoyed! 11. Carts+carriages, military, closed 4b This is my first attempt at a carriage. Please leave suggestions on ways to improve the other carriages that will occupy my port.
  12. Is it just me or are lego sets getting more expensive? This set is basically $20 for the king minifigure because nothing else is really offered. It is a shame
  13. This is a very nice ship and has a very original design and style to it. My only suggestion is that you change the brown and white section between the rigging and cabin and make it blue with another window. The brown and white section looks a little out of place and by making it blue it would extend the cabin.
  14. This is over the top in talent! There are so many great details. You deserve to WIN! Great work!
  15. Very impressive! I really like the overall look. The messed up docks, bridges, porch, and fort are really well made. I like the use of the cylinders on the roof and the loot island bases as the island. For your picture's background you might want to buy a science fair board.
  16. This is looking great. I like the cathedral and the outside of the fort. I especially like the rocks and little tunnels. The wooden platform is a really nice touch. The only thing I think could be improved is the large really tall building. I think it would look better is it was a bit shorter or if the fort walls were higher. The building being that large kind of looks like a palace.
  17. It is going to be smaller than the pirate ship. They always are. I also am seeing navy blue hulls and a grand general.
  18. You probably want the official sails but if you are cheap like me I would make them myself.
  19. Yes that is one of them. I am also going to build another. Right now I am making the water, streets, and seawall of my port. Updates should be coming soon.
  20. Yuck! I just saw your pics on brickshelf. That has to be the dustiest thing I have ever seen made out of legos. I am coughing just looking at it. If I were you I would go over the ship with a small vacum(after removing pieces that might get sucked up). Then I would give the pieces a nice bath. If the white pieces still stay yellowish you might want to give them a bath in bleech. The sails look good to me. All you have to do is iron them or sick them under some heavy books for a day or two.
  21. I actually was just playing with ideas to see how they would turn out. I'm not going to use that exact section as part of my port.
  22. Hey I really like the update. I see what you meant by a building on the docks that stores cargo. I am making one as well but it is going to be more of a fortress style because it will be close to my fort(which should be complete soon). I also like how you converted some out of theme minifigures to pirates it is really well done. Also if you don't mind I think I'm going to use your awesome package technique for cargo.
  23. I am going to make a system of roads on baseplates and leave open ares where I am going to put the buildings. Everything will be on plates. I think I'm going to connect the seawall sections with technic pieces.
  24. Cool. I think I am going to make one for large ships like my Empress and one for small life boats. It probably will be a while before my port is complete I am trying to make sure that I know exactly what I am going to build before I make my bricklink order. Thank You. It is now official, the red stripe is gone.
  25. Thanks. I just threw that red strip in at the last minute. Most of my town buildings are really brightly colored because I wanted my port vibrant and lively and not so historically accurate. I will be building some warehouses and larger cranes. I also am going to build a large boat building facility.
