  1. Your nearest LEGO Store is in Milton Keynes and your nearest LEGO establishment is the Discovery Centre in Manchester. The Discovery Centres include reasonable LEGO-only shops.
  2. I wonder if it's powered by the Hand Of God?
  3. Both Cardiff and Westfield are opening in mid-October according to the links I posted. EDIT: Sorry jm28cardiff, I didn't see that you had already posted that
  4. THERE'S ALSO ONE OPENING IN WESTFIELD LONDON!! This will surely lead to a breakthrough in LEGO Store visitability for London tourists/visitors/citizens. More info on the jobs here. And here.
  5. Sorry about the Glen Waverley cheerleaders mate :S The zombie depletion is not solely due to me though. I qdvise that you try Target in Camberwell - pronto.
  6. There are actually 6 boxes of minifigs in the Melbourne CBD Target, one is located in a different shelf location to the other 5. Can I just say, to the person who cherrypicked the CBD Target's fig boxes for zombies and cheerleaders, you missed a cheerleader, which is now MINE! SUCK ON THAT BIATCH Not that I care much because Target in Camberwell has A WHOPPING 15 OR SO BOXES OF UNCHERRYPICKED MINIFIGS, although that's not quite uncherrypicked now as I have been shopping for myself and on behalf of Svelte I also helped a kid and his mum complete a set of the first series figs without breaking the bank and was thanked profusely And I met an AFOL who is collecting the figs, a young asian lady who was recently brought to the dark side by a LEGO set bought at the toy sale a few weeks ago. She had the THE LEGO BOOK/STANDING SMALL combo in tow, the label said either $30 or $40 so that's available in Target now. Also, Target in Glen Waverley has a meagre 3 boxes, next to the cash registers. Also, This is a public service announcement: "wizard" is spelled "W-I-Z-A-R-D"
  7. Fantastic MOC Matn! I've long been a fan of your Potter-inspired creations. I love the uber-pinkness, it's just like how it is described in the book.
  8. I have the same set but haven't had that problem, so it's not that wide spread. Good to hear about your good greens in the Army men jeep, that's more or less the same as mine.
  9. Hmm maybe that second-to-last picture is the latest in the series of cheeky back-of-box pics (Kid hanging cat over edge of fire escape (green grocer), changing man frightening shoppers (emporium) and the toymaker and the lady making out (winter toyshop))
  10. Wow, I'm thrilled to see such a turnout! It's great to see that there's no shortage of visitors to Australian LEGO events! Also I've had a look at the photos and the standard of the models on display was very high. Well done to all those who took part
  11. Ah. I wasn't alive in the 80s so that would explain that.
  12. I would have come, but it takes a whole day to get from Melbourne to Canberra Maybe I'll come in a few decades' time if this Melb-Syd high speed rail link gets built.
  13. There's no reason LEGO couldn't make new molds for monorail track if they wanted to though.
  14. Yup, there's a tutorial for that here
  15. So hard to choose 5 of all those great colours/pieces! I'm kicking myself for not noticing the cypress tree!! I voted for bicycles of various colours, dark red foliforous trees, white and grey laptops, sand green roof pieces and a few other things I can't remember. Regardless of which of those pieces are popular with others or not, I think we can agree that whatever pieces are most popular overall are going to be ones we all like. I can't wait to see the results (and hopefully, evidence of this in future sets )
  16. Just for fun I've also built a pear, but using the round-shapes maker thing in MLCAD.
  17. Cherries, Yum . Sorry for the crappy iPhone photo
  18. 'Don't wanna grow up, I'm Toyworld kid' 'Don't wanna grow up, I'm David Jones kid' 'Don't wanna grow up, I'm Myer kid' 'Don't wanna grow up, I'm Target kid' 'Don't wanna grow up, I'm Big W kid' ?
  19. I think I might have seen a zombie at Northland Saturday before last. Dunno if any will be left by now. There wern't any cheerleaders so that sucked :( I got the others I was looking for though.
  20. From what I remember reading Brighton is doing well these days. MK and BW were both going well, and BW still is today, seeing as it was so busy when I went there in January.
  21. There used to be ones at The Bentall Centre in Kingston upon Thames (an Apple store is there now) and there used to be one at the Bullring in Birmingham. In 2006 LEGO decided these two stores weren't making enough profit and leases for the stores were becoming more expensive so they closed them. Brighton was borderline. (thanks to bluemoose for that info) I imagine LEGO will reconsider opening more stores in the future in the UK though, given how they've expanded in Germany.
  22. Nice mod! Perhaps you could post a photo of what it looks like in the dark? I wish I had a Vestas windmill, looks like an awesome set... That's a dementor.
  23. I went there last year on the way to a daytrip in Hahndorf. It's such an amazing place! (Toy Corner that is, though Hahndorf is lovely too, even if its German heritage is exploited a bit for the tourists) I pledge to start one in my retirement, some 40 years from now. The shop has way more things for sale than the website shows; complete product lines from about 1996 onwards, plus service baggies and individual parts/baseplates/minifigs. The story goes (from what I heard from the man in the shop) that around 2000 the founder filled a shipping crate full of discounted LEGO in America and then shipped it all over to Adelaide. Hence some of the sets from last century having American style boxes (piece count on front etc.) Toy Corner does have things for sale that are reasonably priced compared to Bricklink prices, and people exploiting that just make the store less enjoyable for others.
