Lego contests are a farce. I think that they pick the winners at random. You look at some of the winners in the magazine, and you wonder how that got picked. There are some really good MOCs as winners, but I don't think it's judged fully by humans. One exception to this I think was the Bionicle contest a few years back.

IMO, their not that hype-worthy. Okay, they are really, really, really cool, but I don't see why they are only limited to Wal-Mart and TRU. And why in such small numbers? I's rather see them at my local convenience store so I can just walk in and pick one up on the way back from school. They might be reasonably priced in USA, but in Canada, they are $3! Might as well save up an extra $2 and get an impulse.

I like the Lego version better, but as for price, I'd get the BF ones, because they are cheaper and come in different colours.
