  1. I relieve you, this set was also released during my dark age, BUT, when I saw that promotion, I couldn't pass away !!!
  2. Woo thanks for the highlight WhiteFang !! (Oups I think the link on Classic-Town is not the right one )
  3. Nice ! I really like how you made the wall that's very original !
  4. Just in time! But it's worthwhile ! I like every furniture you put in this MOC...the candelabre, the lamp, the chair, the wig-stand, the wine shelf... in others words everything ! Very well done
  5. I didn't saw the first version, but I can see a nice entry now. I really like the bones in the casserole. By the way, did the guy with the dishes have two peg leg? Poor guy...
  6. Oh my god, it should be forbidden to have so much talent!! Your MOC is so incredible and impressive. The picture with the Fire Hornet are wonderful too. How much time did you spend on this huge project ? Anyway, congratulations !
  7. Woo very nice creation. I agree with you to invite him on Classic-Pirate. I really like this MOC packed with a lot of details. Of all the details I can spot, I like so much the little blue plume in the fish's mouth to simulate water...
  8. This is a really crazy scene you've built here ! I like the anachronism even if we don't realize very well that it's a ship cabin ! Anyway I like it!
  9. 6038 : Wolfpack Renegades Making this review, I discover that the Wolfpack is one of the smallest castle sub-themes, with only three sets in the range! So, let’s go back to 1992. I was 7 years old, and I had good results at school . My parents, to award me, gave me 20 F. Then, I ran to the supermarket, and look for a good set to buy. I found this one really cool, because I hadn’t yet had a horse. So I bought it. According to the 1992 Lego catalog, the Wolfpack is a feared group of renegades. They won’t let anything or anyone stop their quest for riches. Before starting this review, I would like to warn you because of the time, I loose a part. The head of one the renegade should be and I can’t find it. I’m pretty annoyed with that. To make my review anyway, I replaced it by this head that I judge pretty similar to the other one. I apologize for this mistake. Set Data: 6038: Wolfpack Renegades Year: 1992 Theme: Lego Castle Sub-theme: Wolfpack Pieces: 93 Minifigs: 2 Price: According to Lugnet 8$ Building time: 10 min More info: Bricklink and Peeron Lego Castle: Wikipedia 1992 Lego Catalog: This is an image extract from the 1992 Lego Catalog. We can see our two renegades hunted by a black knight. On the picture, you can catch a glimpse of the 6086 set : Black Knight Castle on the right and the 6075 : Wolfpack Tower on the left. But enough talk. Let’s go for the review! The box: Unfortunately, I didn’t keep the box (excuse me I was sooo young!), so I put the one from Bricklink: This picture show us the cart fully armored with its two renegades ready to commit a crime! It is also specified that the 93 pieces are interlockable ! Great ! Box content: The 93 pieces are here, in front of you. There is not a lot of special parts: two balaclavas, a grey parot (I used to think it was a stone parrot , but now I guess it's a kind of pigeon!), and a red flag printed with the Wolfpack logo match with the shield. Moreover, we can notice a lot of weapons: 3 swords, 1 spear, 1 bow and 1 crossbow with arrows. The minifigs: (Apologies again for the wrong head) Our two renegades are wearing the old rigid cape and a balaclava. Their torso is pretty good with this head wolf. However, the red cape is a bit odd for a guy living in the hood.   The building: Frame of the cart: The building starts by a strong frame for the cart. The frame is black, until now everything is OK. But let’s add some color! The following step add a very strange blue color to the cart. This color is everything but medieval! We can notice that the harness is linked to the cart by a turntable. Clever build, thus the cart is able to turn! Moreover, there are two hinges at the back of the cart. We will see later for what… Add of a structure: The building goes on, and we add a structure on the cart. This structure has a lot of clips to put all the weapons. Secret compartment: The two hinges allow the cart to open up, revealing a secret emplacement! Complete cart: Add four wheels and a horse and we have the complete cart! The complete product: This is how the set looks like when the building is finished. The Wolfpack flag proudly flutter in the wind, and our two renegades are ready to attack a poor yokel or anybody else! Oh, our two fellows had stopped their cart! What are they doing? The hidding phase: Mmmh, they are hiding their chest in the secret compartment of their cart! Oh, and here is a Lion Knights’ patrol! The first trick: “Ola yokels! Do you have anything to declare?” “No, nothing, we are just going to grab some wood.” “Ok, let’s move!” Checkpoint ordeal: Their secret slot allows our renegades to go through all the royal taxation’s checkpoints, or even bandit ambush! The enjoying phase: Finally, they are in a safe place, and now they can enjoy the results of their crimes! Review: This set is interesting because, first of all, it’s an original cart with two minifigs heavily armored and a horse. In an other hand, the hidden compartment for the chest is very well done. The chest fit perfectly in it, and it’s easy to remove it. The only bad point of this set is this weird color scheme. I know at this time, brown bricks were not very spread, but why blue? To finish, the harness and the turntable are a very strong point of the set. The car is in this way, less rigid. Nevertheless, the steering lock radius is limited because the wheels are touching the side of the cart. Minifig: 4/5 Pieces: 3/5 Playability: 5/5 Construction: 5/5 Overall rating: 4/5 Thanks for reading my review ! Hope you'll like it, and let me know if you don't!
  10. This is my first review, I finally find sometimes to get into the reviewing! This set was release as a promotional set in 2001, at the beginning of the Lego Studios range. This set is special for me because it's in this one I found my sigfig ! I'm rather happy to have drank Nesquik for years ago, thus I feel lucky to get this one in my hands ! Set Data: 4049: Nesquik Promotional Set: Quicky the Bunny, Director, Cameraman and Car Year: 2001 Theme: Lego Studios Pieces: 16 + 3 minifigs Price: According to Bricklink 39$ Building time: 5min More info: Bricklink and Peeron Lego Studios: Wikipedia Box front: it's seems that this box is only available for the french release, it put highlight on the exclusif Quicky star. Box back: Showing what the box contains. Box sides: a little promo for the other sets of the range Box content: a bag and a letter from Nesquik We do respond to your command of the Lego box of Quicky Star made exclusively for Nesquik by Lego. We are pleased to offer you today. Thank you very much for the interest you have brought to this offer and your loyalty to Nesquik. Yours sincerely, Nesquik Team. Bag content: Watch the back of the box again, and try to spot the missing part! You can note that the yellow lever shown on the back of the box is not included. It is not shown on the bag either. Moreover, there is not instructions book, Lego consider this set is too easy to build to put explanations? Too bad… Minfigs: The most interesting thing is the exclusive Quicky minifig. The two others are interesting, notably for their double printed torso. Building of the cart: After a long, exhausting and complex build, here is the cameraman’s cart: As you can see, the design is quite poor. It's jsut a little extra for the three minifigs of the set. I admit it's better than if the cameraman held the camera in his hands. The complete set: Review: This set is of course interesting for its Quicky minifig because the rest of the parts are quite standard. The cart is not really very strong, the two 2x4 plates being linked thanks to the wheel. I’d like to see a chair for the director with his name, and he can shout:”Motor, Action!”. However, this set is a must have if you like Lego Studios, exclusive set or part, or if you like rabbit !! Minifig: 5/5 Pieces: 2/5 Just because of the camera Playability: 3/5 Construction: 2/5 as said before, the cart is not very strong, and have a strange look. Overall rating: 4/5 Sherif Quicky, Third scene, Silence… Motor… Action! “OK, young ladies, it’s over for you, drops your guns right now” (John Wayne’s or Jack Bauer’s voices)
  11. INDEXED That's it, I'm gratuated from the Reviewer Academy! I'm now allowed to post this in a public forum. I choose a city theme: Harbor. 6679: Dark Shark 1991 Lego Catalog This set was released in 1991. It was my sister's birthday, and to prevent me from being jealous, my grandmother bought me this set. This boat was called the smuggler’s boat. That’s why on the catalogues, police always try to catch the two sailors!! This is the second set to have the number 6679. But enough talk, and let’s the review started! Set Data: 6679: Dark Shark Year: 1991 Theme: Classic Town Pieces: 71 + 2 minifigs Price: At the moment, this set is sold 9$ on Bricklink Building time: 15min More info: Bricklink , Peeron and Lugnet The box (from Peeron): The box shows the boat with all its stickers. The background is the classical Lego harbour background, with the crane like in the 6541 Box content: All the 71 pieces are shown to you. We can notice that there is not a lot of color, black and red in majority. There are two of these bow bricks and two ailerons. Minifigs: The two minifigs of this set are the same: the standard head, a plain white torso and blue legs. They are wearing a life jacket and a white helmet with a black visor. This black visor made my happiness for a long time, to make plain black super hero for example! The building: First step: The building start in a very common way for a boat: a bow, a body and a motor. The body: Then, we add a second chair, and some clips at the rear of the boat. The motor: The time is now come to add this wonderful and powerful V12 motor! Almost finished: This motor takes place at the front of the boat and stick up from its place. Two walkie-talkies were added at the rear. It’s a weird place for them, because they are just near the propulsion and the water. The complete product: And this is the finished boat, without stickers: The underside receives three boat studs, one of whom is raised near the bow. A windscreen comes to protect the pilot from wind and water projection and a nice aileron dress the back of the boat. Front view: From this view, we can notice that this boat is very thin. Rear view: This is a little focus on the propulsion system. The back is very smart with these two slopes surrounding the propulsion system. Finish view: Our two fellows are ready to start their engine! Black Ops: Let’s have a closer look to their activity… Oh yes, don’t forget they are smugglers!! Indeed, they are able to hide some weapons into their boat and sell them to the best bidder! Review: In my opinion, it's a very good set. The boat have a good design. It really seems to be fast. Moreover, the final product is really strong and compact. It's an important point for kids. However, a minor point of improvement is the minifig. The only interesting thing is their black visor. All the rest is standard. The pieces are quite standard, but the designer has been able to create a boat full of style: the rising motor, the ailerons, and the general shape are nice touch. Minifig: 2/5 Pieces: 2/5 Playability: 5/5 Construction: 4/5 Overall rating: 4/5 Thanks for reading my review ! Hope you'll like it, and let me know if you don't! Pictures can be found in my Brickshelf
  12. Hehe sweet vignette. I really like the bubble near to the old canon ! I have to admit that the new canon have a really great color. In my opinion, it is more realistic than the old one. I didn't try to compare their range of action, but I guess it's the same. I just would like that new cannon were engrave with Imperial logo.
  13. Very nice coconuts ! And as said before, I really like the mix of SNOT and tiled water. Nicely done!
  14. You know, it should be forbidden to tease us with such pictures ! I want to see the rest of this MOC!!!!
  15. According to Lt de Martinet, maybe try to add some rock formation under the fort. You should maybe add a little bit of vegatation too. Nevertheless, the fort is simple but effective. But,... why the pirate on the roof have only one arm ? Maybe try to add him a telescope or something in his hand. Keep up the good work!
  16. I really like the monkey posing ! It really like if it jump on that poor shoved lad !
  17. Yes good result! I really like the shadow effect at the bottom of the MOC.
  18. Ahaha illarious idea! What an original place for a tragedy... By the way, I like how you did the floor.
  19. I totally agree with Guss on this point! I think it's easier (at least with my pieces) to make a large water area in snot way rather than to tile it. But I have to say that your MOC is really well done, and if I had to do a little water area in the future, I will think to your MOC for sur! I really like it, and especially the water border: the little wave, the different use of blue tile and the rocks! Well done
  20. Can you post a picture of it because it's not avalaible for my country ( ) Thanks !
  21. She had a gun made of a cat ??? Why not after all! Great vessel anyway, I like the picture from above. You've design it very well !
  22. Is it a head into a glass bottle near the bed ?? Pretty scary to sleep with that near to you ! Is the floor is enough strong to stand alone with just the 7 studs emerging from the basis? Anyway I like your entry! Good luck for the contest, and I bet you'll win something !
  23. You Sir, are the king of the two-levels MOCs ! I really love your work and especially the sunken city with all its details.
  24. I like the table with the little boats, remind me a battleships game ! poor little Admiral lost in his huge room...
  25. I vote for the cutlass ! As said, it's a symbol of piracy. I imagine all the pirate, cutlass between their teeth, bend over the ship's rail, ready to board this Imperial Ship !
