Continuing my reviewing process of old set, I choose a set from Futuron series : Interplanetary Rover This set was released in 1988. Set data: 6925: Interplanetary rover Year: 1988 Theme: Futuron (space) Pieces: 198 + 2 minifigs Price : At the moment, this set is sold 130$ on Bricklink (New with box) or 30$ used Building time: 25-30 min More informations: Brickset Lugnet Peeron The box: The box shows the rover in action on a planet. The background is the classic one for this theme. Box content: All the pieces are here. The colour scheme is quite uniform: black and white. The only yellow pieces are the astronauts. Minifigs: There are two regular minifigs and two bots. The two astronauts are the same: a classic head with a smile (the good guy head ! ) , yellow helmet and cylinder, and a beautiful torso : yellow and white with the Lego space logo. The two bots are brick build. Interesting parts: Here are some interesting parts: a fence, an horizontal hinge, and a metal detector -like piece. The building: The building begins with the frame of the rover. There are two parts linked with this articulated piece which allow the rover to turn. Add some colour: The next steps consist to add a white level to the frame. You can notice at front the rough shape of the cockpit, with these two beautiful printed tiles. A little problem: A little problem which occurs too often in my taste is the breakdown of this hinge in the middle. During the building, almost each time you add a new piece to the structure, the hinge breaks! The garage of the exploration vessel: This area has a really nice shape, and offers a great protected space inside. This garage goes at the rear of the rover. As you can see on this picture, the upper part is linked with hinge to allow the little vessel to goes outside! Exploration vessel: Talking about the vessel… Here is the second astronaut driving his craft. The design is very simple, but you can notice the seat which allows a minifig to seat with air tank! Final overview: The model is now complete fellows, you are ready to start the exploration of the galaxy! As you can see, the two bots take place behind the driver, and you can remove them when you need to go in a dangerous exploration! The wheels work two by two: there is a 1x6 technic brick with holes behind them, articulated around one pin. So, it’s working as a suspension. As Buzz Lightyear used to say: To infinity and beyond ! Unfortunately, close to the end of the galaxy, you never know who you can meet, and nobody will hear you screaming... Review: As far as I’m concerned, I think this set is really well done. The playability is very good: two minifgs, two bots, and a vessel! But the rover has a weird design: the driving cabin is protected by a windscreen but the rear is open…Fortunately, the driver keeps his air tank inside of it ! The garage for the vessel is really well done even if the pilot spend his time in the dark, waiting for an exploration… Minifig: 4/5 (5 if they were not the same ) Pieces: 3/5 Playability: 5/5 Construction: 3/5 (The fragile hinge and the little weird design cause this note) Overall rating: 4/5 Thanks for reading my review ! Hope you'll like it, and let me know if you don't! Pictures can be found in my Brickshelf

Today I say stop to old set review! That's why, I present you my last review: 7079 Drawbridge Defense Set Data: Set Reference: 7079 Drawbridge Defense Year: 2009 Theme: Fantasy Era Pieces: 294 Minifigs: 7 Price : 35€ (39$) Building time: 25-30 min More information: Bricklink LegoShop Brickset The box: (From Bricklink) The box shows an overall view of the battle between Crownies and Skeletons. Minifigs: By themselves, they justify the purchase of this set! We have two different crew: the Good and the Bad. Let's start with the bad guys: Three skeletons, and a dead horse make up this gang. The horse rider is very similar to the grim reaper for me... I like his cape and his hood. The two other are pretty common. Now, the most interesting part of the set, the good guys: Four minifigs, and three of them are exclusive! The crownie is common (it's still one more !). The golden knight is fantastic. He is very well detailed with a printed armour, printed legs and a printed torso back and front ! The princess has also a back printed torso: She also has a new piece of hair, very typical of this era. She can even wear a tiara. Her head is also new. I like the little beauty spot near her mouth. The other side of her head shows her angry face. The jester has his classic smile, but, yes there is a "but", he has a double sided printed face! Yes! The other side is ... sad! Wonderful addition in the emotional palette of Lego. The building The construction starts with the rock basis of the tower. Two big Burps make up this basis. The inside is quit empty, but you can notice two beautiful dark green plates. Then you had some arch and the drawbridge: The arch isgreat and I like the addition of the cheese slope on the side. The upper level is also great. Two little windows allow the princess to scream outside. You can notice the presence of dark blue bricks. The last floor welcomes the defense of the bridge. I guess it's a sort of crossbow, and you can fire with a flick. The front of the tower has great arms: the lion head and the two axes are great. Just behind the arms, this is the drawbridge mechanism. You can turn the brown wheel, and the two chains will wrap around the black pieces. There is also an anti return mechanism. This is the complete tower with open drawbridge: If the bridge is closed, there is a big hole under the tower! You can notice that the tower is very high. The bridge must be settled on the other side, so this is the entrance: The base is another dark green plate: Some other arch made the entrance but the result is good: Then, you add some greenery, flame, and ground: This ground is a little weird because you can lift it up: Thus, you can hide something or even settle a trap. Finally, the ditch! Tatatata: What a ditch! Yes I know, it's not possible to make something bigger in such a set, but this is really weak...not even something in the water. Overall view: The golden knight is ready to welcome some skeletons... name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">As you can see on the video, the drawbridge is easy to close, but it needs a little help to open again. Moreover, there is a big gap between the wall and the bridge when it's close. Our conscientious soldier wants to be sure that drawbridge is unbreakable... Maybe in pole vault style? Or Rambo style? Thanks for reading this review, I hope you enjoy this set as much as me! Review Figurines: 5/5 For such a "cheap set", you've got seven figs and 3 of them are exclusive ! The crying jester is just marvelous and the princess face is so cute. The golden knight is also a great fig. Pieces: 4/5 This set contains a lot of grey brick and arch. They're really useful for Moc building. Moreover, you've got some dark blue slopes and plates. I didn't yet find a use for those slopes but I really like this colour so I'm sure I'll re-use them ! Finally, you've got a great arsenal : crossbows, two sorts of axes, swords, reaper, shields... I've got a little critic against the ditch, but this can't be perfect! Playability: 4/5 The play feature are quite good. The crossbow on the top is great, it's always great to be able to shoot on the bad guys ! The bridge is not so bad and the mechanism is very well designed ! The playability is increased by the presence of the 7 figs! Moreover, the large space in the tower allow us to play inside. Thus the tower is a little empty in the back. Construction: 5/5 The construction is very easy, step after step. The building is modular so you build each part after the other. Overall rating: 4.5/5 For me, this set is a must buy for all the castle fan. The set is very good looking, and once dismantled, there is a lot of very useful parts ! This is the first "big" set of the Fantasy Era I bought, and I have to admit that the quality is "au rendez-vous". This is not the first drawbridge made by TLC (see here and here), but as far as I'm concerned, it's the best one. Tell me your thoughts! Thanks for reading my review! Sweet Moc ! I agree that the first one really fit the zombie theme ! One more good Moc from you Capt'ain -
Already commented on Flickr ! I just notice the use of old yellowish white brick for the wall on the left ! Great Moc full of action. I must keep this MOC in mind for future reference...
-
Nice truck ! I like the smooth mudguards, they are really nice. But the platform is very great too. To conclude, this truck fits perfectly with fabuland figs... Ahhh Fabuland
-
I totally with Rick. I like the fact that we don't see the soldier face. The picture of his back in the foreground and his wife in the background is splendid. I like this entry, well done !
-
But... I already know this MOC ! Still wonderful. Glad to see you here Captain !

It seems we have exactly the same idea, and posted at the same time ! I really love how you made the waves...

Pillage the Village II: The Calm After the Storm
74louloute replied to SlyOwl's topic in Pirate MOCs
Nice reconversion of the theme ! Sounds original, and as we don't see so often Moc of this subject, it's quite challenging ! -
ENTERED Hello everybody, here is my entry for TTCE. For those who lived in Paris, this train is famous. The RER A is the suburban train that most of the Parisian take every morning to go to work. This is my humble tribute to this packed out train, and by the way my first train MOC. Wagon RER A MS61 A little reference picture : More pictures one Flickr and Brickshelf C&C are more than welcome !

Oh yes PTV is back !! This contest is my favorite (maybe because it's the first I entered ?) PS: Slyowl, I really like your announcing pic, the pose of the pirate is great, so the piece used as arm !
-
You find a really nice way to add something special to your moc. The first picture is fantastic ! The moc itself is also great, packed with full of details. I really like the white little puppet, is it from the new Lego games ?
-
This MOC had such a great sens of movement ! I can hear the pirate screaming and the sound of the wave ... This the best wave design I ever saw... As Slyowl said, maybe add cheese slope unless the tile to avoid the flat section on the wave. Nevertheless, very good job !
-
 Plastic quality seems so bad... Do they took picture of the real Lego set for their art box, because there is no similarity between the box art and the stuff inside...

Hello everybody! Today, I would like to introduce to you (if you don't know them!), our friendly Fabuland friends. I choose one of my first "big" set : 3675 General Store This set was released in 1987. Set Data: 3975: General Store Year: 1987 Theme: Fabuland Pieces: 103 + 3 minifigs Price : 20£ when released, nowadays sold 111$ on Bricklink Building time: 25-30 min More informations: Bricklink Brickset The box: (From Peeron) The box shows an overall view of the store. Instructions: The instructions look like they are hand drawn, that's very pleasant. During the whole construction, you are accompanied by your Fabuland friends! (Picture from Brickfactory) Pieces of interest: This set contains some very original pieces like the gas pump or that sign. This set contains a mix of printed bricks (like the cash machine, the letter box or the fruit-tile) and stickers for the rest. I'm very happy to see that those stickers are as new even if they are 22 years old ! Those drawers are absolutely magnificent! I think they can totally be re-used in a Moc. Minifigs Figures From left to right, you could recognise Hannah Hippopotamus, Freddy Fox, and Boris Bulldog. Freddy Fox is the owner of the store, Boris is the mailman, and Hannah is just a citizen of Fabuland ! The figures are simple, the hands can't move, but the two legs can be moved separatly. They only have a front printing. The building The buiding starts with the cash machine. In the sweet world of Fabuland, everybody is kind: that's why Boris is here to help Freddy to settle his shop. Hannah is here too but she didn't want to do anything ! Boris is so strong, that he can carry a shelf by himself!! Hannah is very impressed... The door and the window are ready, so they can begin the construction of the solarium ! And it's done ! Hannah hasten to test it while the guys build the roof. Everything is almost over, Freddy put his bricklayer's clothes to finish the wall. That's it! The store is now complete. But the inside need some furniture... The furniture are rudimentary : a table and another shelf. The shelf contains those lovely drawers ! The car Boris is the mailman, so he need a car to make his round. To thanks Boris, Freddy helps him to build his car. Overall view Everything is build, the garden is already full of flowers, the tree is ready to give its apples, and the mailbox is full ! Inside the store, Freddy is busy and make some call to be delivered on time. "What, what what? You don't know where Fabuland is ? You can't deliver to me? ... ... ... Do you have something to write on, I'll explain to you, it's very easy!" Boris fill his tank before going to work, his journey is long in Fabuland ! Close up A close up to this lovely mailbox. It's so huge you can even hide somebody inside !! The sign is lovely, I like its shape all in round ! There is a sticker in front, and a different one on the other side. This is the wall with the price of store good. Unfortunately, this is not print, it's a sticker. I think I should thanks my dad for such a good collage of all the stickers! I hope Freddy won't change prices very often ! Thanks for reading this review, I hope you enjoy this set as much as me ! Everybody say "Bye Bye" to Fabuland, it's now time to return in the real world !! Review As far as I'm concerned, I think that set is wonderful. I really enjoy building it again, almost 20 years later... The explanation are simple, the bricks are big and easy to take. The building process is very smooth : at each step you add just one or two bricks. I really miss Fabuland... I think that theme was great for little kids : the figurines with their big animals head are very friendly, and everything in Fabuland exudes calm, quiet and friendship ! Figurines: 4/5 Three different Fabuland fig ! Pieces: 4/5 There is some very original pieces in here that I totally forgot for years. Maybe I'll try to incorporate one of these in a MOC. Playability: 5/5 The back of the store is totally open, so you can play inside ! Construction: 5/5 Very easy, step after step. Overall rating: 4/5 Excellent set. Thanks for reading my review ! Hope you'll like it, and let me know if you don't! Pictures can be found in my Brickshelf

Oh what a fully armored fort ! I really like the inclinaison of the wall, the effect is far better than "normal" walls. Great construction !
-
Vig. 85d All the members of crew are allowed to celebrate their break. Some of them celebrate it a little to much... Enjoy ! (Pics are link !) (And remember : Drink responsibly ! )
-
You have experimented some really great new techniques here ! At the first glance, I couldn't understand the "use of jumper plate" as you said. But with a closer examination, I have to say this is really great. Moreover, I like how you did both of the roofs. Great job
-
Sweet contest ! I always wanted to try myself as train building, this is a great occasion. By the way, as a rookie, can I ask what is "standard track dimensions" as mentionned in the rules ?
-
As each summer, I'm tired of working and I'm dreaming about holidays... Enjoy your summer holidays ! This MOC is a tribute to my first MOC from last summer : One year ago, same state of mind... Which one do you prefer ?
