  1. Yes, Hoke's Diplomacy efforts need to be a little less hat-in-hand. So, what did we miss? We would have been able to save Blitze's daughter? Did we miss any battles/xp for not exploring? Did you try to kill Hoke with the Hydra (man I love Spellspins!)? Here's Hoke's roleplay with Moira for those interested:

Quest 116 One of THE best quests I have been on: Story as good & didn't unfold too quickly Twist at the end was just right and didn't feel shoe-horned ROLEPLAY WAS TOP NOTCH on all accounts (PCs & NPCs) Loot/gold was excellent Fights were tough but not ridiculously so Updates were pretty reliable Wish there were a couple more fights/XP gaining Thanks again WBD! I will be signing up for your next quest for sure!
  3. "Inexplicable so," Hoke says as he finally feels the weight of everyone slowly slump down on his shoulders. However, he also feels a pulsating warmth emanate from a lithe serpentine form curling around his leg. It was comforting, reassuring. "I wanted to thank you again for your aid," Hoke says mentally tries to shake of the exhaustion that is now consuming him,"It was much appreciated and may have inadvertently stopped amongst the less savory organizations of Eubric." Hoke removes his glove, takes Moira's hand and gently kisses the backside. He makes his way to the door and out into the city.
  4. Hoke chuckles to himself at that title, feeling quite unchivalrous due to the deeds of the day. He reaches out his hand and offers the set of keys back to her. "You may be minus a few patrons," he said, referring to the two would-be assassins.

  6. Hoke exits the Town Watch barracks, feeling like nothing was accomplished. He looks down to see Torc at his feet and is amazed at how quickly she has grown, from a small cat to near the size of a wolf. He wondered what effect the hydra meat had on her. He fished around a bit in his pouch and pulled out a set of three keys. He looked at them for a moment, then closed his finger tightly around them and made his way back to the Lotus.

  11. But dodgy isn't guaranteed, can still take damage. Blessed is auto +3 HP every round.
  12. I prefer the sure thing (stat boosts & enhancements) vs the mercy of the dice.
  13. Hoke tries on the Helm. It didn't quite sit right, but he figured it would be useful later. He ties it to his pack and waits for his quest mates to make their decisions. Hoke uses Diplomacy "Hoples, perhaps you could point us to some training. It looks like the soldiers you came with seemed to be capable men."

  15. "It looks like we are done here," Hoke says to the reptilian beast warrior as he hands Benji Blitze's Remedy.
  16. Hoke looks in the eyes of those around him and finds no support, save for Alithor. He resists the overwhelming urge to slump his shoulders in defeat, and instead, holds his head high and sets his jaw. "Let's conclude our business then," he says to Detective Hoples.

  18. Hoke ignores Benji and Alithor as he enters the temple. He lays the girl down inside the temple. "Can anything be done? If so, do what you can," he says to the priestess that greeted him earlier, "I will return." He exits the temple, the little girl's blood on his armor, boots and gloves. He walks past his bickering quest-mates,"Feel free to join me when you're done with your chat." and points at the Town Watch soldiers and Ecurb, "Come with me. I have some wolf hides to collect."
  19. Plan was to leave the Maw up. Durn Spellspin didn't help... Plus Benji has Wolfgang rep and already pledge himself to them. If he sided with the Wolfgang, the fight would have been no in the PCs favor, at all. But then again, that last Spellspin would have decimated those Wolfgang. Oh well...
  20. Hoke gives Benji an incredulous look as the girl's blood slowly runs down his arms and dribbles onto the cobblestones below, splattering on Hoke's boots. He pulls his arm away and continues towards the temple.
  21. Hoke turns back and looks at Blitze, the girl's body cradled in his arms. "Vengeance can wait."
  22. Hoke palms the scepter and gently pushes it aside as he looks the necromancer in the eyes, void of any emotion. He picks up the little girl and heads to the Temple.
  23. Hoke picks up the vial and drops it in his pouch. Hoke gently scoops up the little girl's body and begins walking towards the Temple of Ennoc. Hoke walks right past the bumbling detective.
  24. And sometimes when you win, you lose. Beginning to think the QMs are sadists in an unflattering way.
  25. Hoke gives the man-bat a hard stare, disgusted by the vigilante's blindness to the scene in front of them. "Blitze, do you have something in your shop to revive her?"
