  1. "Gandalf my friend.... This will be a night to remember." Great work. It all looks so organic. Thank you for sharing!
  2. This may have been asked and answered but does anyone know where the santa sack is on Bricklink? I cannot find it. thank you in advance!
  3. I think the mustache and beard combo would have looked better with a two shades of grey instead of grey and white... But overall I still like the figure.
  4. I don't think it has been mentioned yet. The second movie will be called The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Here is a link to the article: My link
  5. I like the snot technique mixed in with the log pieces over the windows. It creates a very nice texture. Great build as always from you Hinkley!
  6. I have read this entire thread over time. Does anyone have a summary on availability of the poly bags so far. I have become confused.
  7. Like I said, I didn't think anyone would find a good use for those shields. I am glad you moved them over to the persian army. I give you kudos for your 2nd usage of those shields, as for the first use?... I like the rest of the castle MOC but those purple shields on the green army is too much for me. Reminds me of the Knights Kingdom days... No offense meant at all AC.
  8. That tatoo is awesome. Limits the uses of the head but incredibly detailed! Thanks for the link.
  9. I want to congratulate you on a fantastic build. The Tantive IV looks incredible! However, I would not recommend TLG following this idea. Environments never sell with kids as well as vehicles do. Also, including Vader is a major mistake. Battle packs are supposed to be just that. Why would anyone include an individual character in a battle pack? TLG did that with the POTC battle packs (i.e. Jack Sparrow) and they eventually sold them on clearance just to get rid of them. Who wants or needs another Vader? If you do need a Vader would you really buy 2 of these battle packs? I could see your scene being a stand alone set for the LEGO company but not as battle packs.
  10. Great work everyone! I love the persian army. I never thought anyone would find a good use for the gungan shields, but they look great on the persians! I am loving all of the photos so keep it up.
  11. Absolutely fabulous work! As others have mentioned the cracks in the stonework really do it for me.
  12. I really enjoy the discussions here. As an avid army collector it is nice to see others as into it as I am. To add a little more variety I always add standard bearers and musicians/drummers to my ranks. I usually add a leader with unique weapons or a cape as well. The saddest thing in the release of LOTR LEGO for me so far has been the lack of a standard or flag for Saruman's armies. A white hand on one of those vertical hanging flags would have been great to include. I agree to get a decent sized army right now you have to buy multiples of the Uruk hai army set. However, I am truly hoping for battle packs at some point. I already have a decent sized (36) uruk army but alas I am looking for a lot of orcs and Uruks. I am hoping in the thousands eventually. Battle packs or chess sets will be necessary to pull this off. I just don't need that much brick any more. My collection of brick is moving towards a million parts and is getting increasingly difficult to store.
  13. One thing that hasn't been discussed yet is the usefulness of the torsos on the dwarves. These look like some fantastic generic torsos for historical MOCs. They already have a great variety of colors available. So far I only see flesh possibly on Dwalin's torso? No matter, it seems like these sets are going to be great to pick up even if you are not a LOTR fan. So many useful molds and prints it is really exciting.
  14. I'm more of a castle collector, but I love these figures. However, I am all jazzed about that dark green hood on Doom! I will need to lugbulk those things!
  15. OK, OK, I give in to the peer pressure. Since I only have one more module to add to my layout, I will spend the next year on the lighting and perhaps some sound...
  16. Great job Mike! The music choices were perfect and it was even approved by Pruneface! Hilarious!
  17. I really want to see what that sack looks like up close. It is impossible to make a good looking minifig scale sack out of any current parts. I just hope this one will fill my needs. The lack of a true army building figure is a relief for me. Finally a series where I only need to collect one or two of each.
  18. What an amazing set. It truly looks like a MOC. TLG IMHO is in a golden age of set design. The thing that really gets me going is all of the new molds on the dwarves and new building parts as well. I am loving the new pretzel and what appears to be the 4x round plate with the middle hole.
  19. Holy Crap that cat is hilarious! Chris nice job making that photo on the fly! Good catch Simon. It is an unfair advantage. How can anyone compete with modulex man By the way I also wanted to thank CopMike for all of the donations he made for the charity auction. He is an incredible guy!
  20. I was going to mention you Chris. aka. (Polish Guy) However, I was looking for a confirmation on Roger being a Eurobricks member as well. I think he is. Which would add best MEGA build as well to the list. Either way, Congrats Chris! Will we see a threepeat next year?
  21. Congrats to the pirate collaboration! There were a lot of very impressive builds and it was all tied together perfectly. A lot of work was put in at the convention until the early morning hours. It certainly paid off. As for the other awards: The Bandersnatch was utterly believable. The Inn at the End of the World was absolutely great. Simon all of your MOCs were fantastic and master Builder is an award well deserved. As I read the thread I quickly realised it has been selling the Eurobricks community a little short. We have forgotten another award that Eurobricks can claim. More importantly you guys/gals have forgotten me. Next year I am going to play pizza nazi for your memory lapse. "No pizza for you!" I was lucky enough to be voted the best individual layout. We can add this award to the best group layout, best small building, and best creature, and master builder. I am still trying to confirm membership, but I think even more members also won awards. I will update as I get information. For your viewing pleasure. Unfortunately I didn't take photos of the entire layout. In fact I didn't take any at all and snapped this at home in a minor state of disrepair. I promise to put up photos once the layout is complete. That should be around Christmas time. If anyone has photos they want to share from Brickworld you can have at it. That is a great photo of Jens' ship by Matt! I am already looking forward to next year. It is amazing how much fun this convention is!
  22. It certainly was a great convention. Thanks to everyone for all of the great builds and good times. I am already looking forward to next year!
  23. Happy Brickworld everyone. I did not get the shipments in to finish what I wanted but it was a relief not to have to build all night long. Everything I am bringing is 100% complete the way I want it for the first time ever. Now to just get it there safely... See everyone tonight? Not 100% sure I can make it up to the opening ceremony.
  24. Only the best Chicago Deep Dish for Eurobricks friends. Stash does the hookup with the ordering, and it is fantastic every year! I've got so much building to do I will not sleep much the next 3 nights... Safe travels Mike hope your creations survive. Looking forward to what you guys built this year.
  25. Have a safe flight. Stash tells me a few of you guys are taking in a Cubs game tomorrow. It is gonna be a hot day and the women will be scantily clad! Have a good time and go Cubbies. I'll see you on Wednesday night Quarryman!
