  1. Holy cow Rook! That's insane! Great job! I'll be a couple of hours while I look at the details on this beast.
  2. Happy St.Georges Day! Nice emoticon too!
  3. Ahkay. Thanks simon. Yeah, apparently they're called . And why is it a random person always dies and no-one seems to care or find out about it?
  4. Thanks guys! Cheers! I got it from my local TRU, and the shelves were full of them!
  5. The four smallest POTC sets, a coupl'a days ago.
  6. Argh! Should I click?! I dunno! Anyway, this episode certainly left a lot of holes to be filled and left me quite confused. Those Aliens don't qualify for the Weeping Angel creepy club, but they were scary. I feel sorry for the kiddies watching this!
  7. Now that looks epic! This would be great to make Scorch if you combine it with an Arealight helmet!
  8. My local TRU has excess of all POTC sets and are also running the three for two offer!
  9. Set: 4192 The Fountain of Youth Theme: Pirates of the Carribean ~ On Stranger Tides Figures: 3 Parts: ??? Price: £20.99 Box: Back: Top: Contents: Three unnumbered bags, again one of them containing the instructions and poster backed by cardboard, but this time with a Barbosa card too. The poster gives away quite a bit about what looks like the film ending, with all the Red Coats rushing in and Jack running away with his gal, leaving Barbosa and Blackbeard behind. The instructions are normal and have pics of the POTC sets at the back as well as the game advertisement. Parts: Another nice selection here, this time with dark green and light blues. Jack's hair, and Blackbeard's hat and beard are in their own baggies. Figures: More great detail, all the figures have backprinting and Jack a double-sided face. The accessories are great too, nothing stickered in this set! More pics of Blackbeard... Figure spares: The Fountain: Another quite detailed build here. I like the printed shower at the top the most. The Waterfall: The plastic sheet itself can either stay as one sheet or split slightly to form three sections, so the figures can 'walk' through. I can't really comment on this, apart from those ugly looking pillars, because I haven't seen the movie yet. The other spares are a trans-light-blue stud and a dark green cheese slope. Finished Product: Ratings: Parts: 8/10 - A good selection of quite rare parts. Figures: 8/10 - For such an expensive set a couple of Red Coats (like in the poster) would have been better, and/or Pennelope Cruise. Playability: 7/10 - You can probably (!) re-enact the scene here, but I wouldn't have minded another play feature or two. Design: 8/10 - I can only comment on how it looks in LEGO and not how accurate it is to the movie, so I think it's pretty reasonable. Price: 5/10 - Not worth it for such a small set really... Overall: 36/50 or 72% - The price is the biggest let down here, apart from that it's a good set worth getting!
  10. Bag 3 - the Tree-winch! Lots of brown parts here that'd be great for MOCs! Small bag contents: The tree is fantastic. The build is fun, and the techniques and features are great! Angles: The winch works quite nicely if you do it slowly. I like the use of cheese slopes to keep the chain in place, but why they didn't use 2x1 slopes I don't know! It lifts comfortably. The platform area is a nice addition too, it give it the fort look! Here you can see the way the dark tan branches are attached to the wall. It does however need an operator! The 'interior' houses a box with two swords and a bottle (filled with rum I presume) and a backpack with an tin of some sort... it's been ages since I watched the movie! Bag 3 spares: All the spare parts: Finished product! Rating Figures: 9/10 - Great selection of highly detailed figures, but another Cannibal would have been nice! Parts: 10/10 - Fantastic range of parts perfectly suited for the theme and chosen very well by the designers! Build+Design: 4/5, 4/5 - Not too challenging, not too repetitive! Great use of parts to maximise the feature quality! Price: 6/10 - I think around £20 would be more acceptable for this set, but it was worth the money in the end. Playabiltiy: 10/10 - Nothing much to say here, I think it's perfect for kids and AFOLs! Overall: 86/100 or 86% I highly recommend this set to any LEGO fan! It really is a fantastic buy! Plus, if you end up not liking it, it's a perfect parts pack! BONUS As you all might have guessed, being drunk doesn't affect Jack's fighting skills!
  11. Set: 4182 The Cannibal Escape Theme: Pirates of the Carribean Price: £26.99 Figures: 4 Parts: ??? Box: It has a nice fresh look to it, which stands out next to the other LEGO boxes. The presence of a human on the box is also new, and strange too. The back show the play features, as usual... ...and the top shows all the figures! Once opened, you'll find four bags, one containing a piece of cardboard to keep the instructions and poster flat. The poster is dual sided, one picture to do with the whole the theme and the other the set itself. The instructions are normal apart from a couple of things. It shows the play features of a certain area after that section has been built, for example. Atleast, I don't remember seeing them before! There are pictures of the other POTC sets as well as Alien Conquest, and the new POTC game. Bag 1 - Figures and Spit The figures are beautiful, all with exceptional detail, and are all different! Jack's face and the compass highlight this fact! Only Jack and Will have double sided heads, but all the figures have backprinting. The new hairpieces feel like a new material, and look fantastic on the figures. The spit looks the part, but swings far too easily downwards (with a figure on it) and thus looses the rotating effect. I suspect swapping for tighter technic pins may sort the problem out, though. The spares of Bag 1 include another compass! Bag 2 - Cage and Throne As you can see, there are lots of bone parts! The 'decorated' pieces are all printed thankfully, and this part is an example: The Throne... It fits the figure well and looks really nice IMO. The back hinges allow room for Jack's crazy hairdo. The side spikes with skulls aare also click-hinged. The Cage... It's quite a complicated but repetitive build... Another new instruction feature! The figure fits perfectly standing up, so sitting down in it will be fine too! 'Uuga buga!' Bag 2 spares... More coming soon! My computer is struggling to keep up with all the photos!
  12. Thanks so much Masked! Yeah, I though I'd follow the trend of the CW where the Battle Droids are pretty much clueles, and useless. Thaks a lot! I thought it might add more colour to the MOC, instead of it just being browns, greys and greens. I see what you mean though, more tan bits are in order!
  13. I've been in the same perdicament as Duke for a long time too. Thanks for the help.
  14. Thanks so much Big Cam! I'm glad you like it! Thankyou. Hmm, well, I tried to get a more of a flat look to it because normally, by a base like this, the ground would be flatter from patrols walking to and fro. But hey, we all have our opinions. Cheers! See above. Wow! Thankyou! Yeah, that thing had been lying around for a while, so I used it in something. Lol, it didn't take that long. Wooow. Lots of questions! Right, I'll answer them and add a bit more story to the one there already. 1. Well, I tried to give it the look of it being built into a rock face with the transition from BURPs to smooth bricks, so no it's not metal. 2. The tree is burning because it is their rendezvous point (as it says in the post ). The Seps don't think anything of it because of the fuel ejections from various patrol vehicles can cause fires. 3. Well, the Republic don't know what it is either, but if the Seps are co-operating with Death Watch again it must be bad! Therefore they want to find out what it is. 4. See above! Thanks mate! Thanks a lot Kiel! I set it out as if Bly has ARCs in his battalion prior to the armour-switch, so he used the elites instead of the normal soldiers to make the mission easier. Thanks a lot, but they're not Domino Squad! Just so y'all know the flickr photos provide more insight into what's going on. I'll update the first post and the photos on flickr with descriptions later.
  15. Plan: - Rendezvous at the burning tree - 0020 hours (standard Kaminoan time). - Take out the Battle Droids with Droid Poppers. - Intercept Mandalorians via Jetpacks, capture the leader. - 327th rapple up, secure the cargo, and signal reinforcements. - Interrogate prisoner(s). See more in my Flickr.
  16. Make sure to add your PSN to the username list!
  17. Now I'm lovin' that! Thanks for the pics! I'm glad to see some figures with it, but surely there's no interior? This just goes to show how we should have more trust in other members.
  18. Over the past month.... LSW III Four Hazmat Guys Kimino Girl (my mum's fave for Mother's Day) Various Parts off BL (two orders) And then a whole set of S4 figures.
  19. It's about time I posted something in here. This one is based on the various Clone face prints from the early CW lines. Feedback would be appreciated!
  20. Wow! Great work! Lots of features, which is great let-alone it being in LDD, and it would be a must buy if LEGO ever made one. Well done!
  21. My bad. Thought CF had posted
  22. Happy B'day! Have a great one!
  23. Ooooooh! Someone *ahem* will have to get one of theses for me. I reckon, if it is an ARF variant, it might be a Stealth Ship pilot. I mean, they have similar helmets, right? LEGO have done things like this before, for instance with the old TIE Pilot with the Stormie helmet. Still, this'd be a sweet figure! Thanks for brightening up my day buddy!
  24. Ignoring the very minor error, this is a fantastic entry Oky! Simply outstanding as per usual, and I bet all those hyroglyphs must've cost a fair penny! Surely another winner. I honestly wouldn't have noticed the square mistake, and even if I did I wouldn't have cared.
  25. Sainsburys now have S4 figures!
