LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!

To be fair, it is still a small sample size compared to Lego's global market impact. It just that some of the things said about "kids/AFOLs" really gets under my skin, so maybe I should be a little more relaxed. -

You know, around 2010 I could never ever enter a class room after a TCW episode aired without hearing kids celebrating this clone and that clone. And although this time is over, these white troopers still capture the imagination of many boys. While the current generation may not know the smallest clone trooper details anymore (compared to 15 years ago, when that was the case - Pink Fox would never have been accepted by them, ever), it is not complete gone from what I see. I think they could sell pretty well to kids. And yes, to me it is evident the current wave caters to AFOLs, at least partially. The prices alone are a hint. The average monthly allowance of a 10yo in my country is between 15€ and 25€, and we are not exactly a poor country... Asking a kid to save 10 weeks for a battle pack is hardly realistic. This is the stuff either rich parents or AFOLs buy. And the CTT's price e.g. is beyond the average Chrismas present. etc. etc. It is just that some AFOLs, not all of them fortunately, pretend every quality issue can be explained because "it is for kids and kids do not care", which is as demeaning as it is wrong. I for one believe LSW could sell well to young audiences, it is just that see more of a general Star Wars problem to really get the kids' attention. Andor, Acolyte, Ahsoka, BOBF, Kenobi... sorry, this is not what a 10yo girl or boy wants, not at all. And counting on the parents to be exited again to exite their children seems a little desperate. Pre-Disney TCW was beloved without that. PS: yes, I also think Andor is a good show, and I for one enjoyed Ahsoka. I am also not a child anymore. I just work with them. _ -

As we have a nice early TCW General Kenobi, I obviously want an early TCW General Skywalker; the last one was from 2018 (and it does not look so nice compared to 2025's Kenobi). And then, Phase 1 clones. Pretty much all the recent clone releases featured Phase 2. Obviously I would prefer non-clone military and law enforcement like Senate Guards, Coruscant underground police, militias, or Judicials. But I highly doubt I will see them as Lego minifig anytime soon, if ever. I understand. This is the stuff one cannot fix at home. Yularen's pants or missing boots e.g. can be easily fixed. Though, in all honesty, if one needs to bricklink new legs to improve minifigs, or even just to fix blatant mistakes in a 1000€ set... -

Thanks for the heads-up! I was thinking about what one could expect in a TIE-Fighter set but indeed, if that is what they are going for... ok. I am rather happy about that. As a fan of officer figures with different rank insignia, bricklinking DS figures will be easier than bricklinking the DS GWP figures. Colonel Yularen e.g. commands higher prices than Admiral Yularen, despite the Colonel having the wrong pants (and the new Colonel figure will feature the same mistake...). In fact, the figures I am most looking forward to are Motti and Tagge. If they are screen accurate (or easy to fix), I will get them to make a Conference Room Diorama. The rank insignia should be easy enough, but the code cylinders? PS: Motti's code cylinders e.g. ... now that is Glup Shitto material. But then, when would you want to focus on such details, if not in the most expensive LEGO set ever? ...Made by the most expensive brick toy company? ... proclaiming the hightest standards ever? -

Officers, ground crew, navy troopers, multiple pilots (Imperial pilots have individual helmet markings, also some elite pilots with coloured stripes). But, with the V-19 in mind, it could be any character from the OT. -

I am fine with combined diorama approach, the minifigs however are the greatest letdown: - mediocre quality (lack of boots for the officer e.g.) - inaccuracies (Yularen's pants e.g.) - lack of new minifigs (Death Squad Commander, Mechanical Crew aka Janitor, or a new variation of the DS Gunner uniforms e.g.) - and imo not enough figures (only one of Palpatine's Advisors? Two navy troopers only? No TIE pilot) And that is before seeing the minifigs in detail. I hope Motti and Tagge got the correct rank insignia and code cylinders for example. The standard lazy answer that kids would not care about those details (which is factually wrong anyway) does not apply to a 1000€ set. This thing needs to be perfection, especially when it comes to the figures because they are Lego's most vital assett. -

Very creative, nice! If only Lego did an official senate set... -

Although I still like the pilot, it is indeed clearly an AotC variant, if we are being generous. But then, the set is TCW and it not like printing all the way is somehow super expensive or beyond Lego's capacities. It is a simple oversight. ...a minor one I am willing to tolerate given it is not a UCS. But as Lego's prices go up I am going to be less and less tolerant. If I had not been waiting for a V-19, I might shut my wallet. The problem is Lego knows. They know this about the V-19. They also know the CTT set is a little more than a glorified battle pack and people will get it for the marines alone. And they know people accept the lack of proper kamas, either fully printed around the legs (my choice) or as cloth pieces. So why would they waste resources improving the build or the minifigs? As long as people buy it, they won't. (Yes, I am one of those, though not in that particular case). -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures

Imperial Senate Security It is very unlikely to get them as we did not even see the Senate Guards. Or any Senate location set, for that matter. But on the other hand, they do not require new moulds and look quite nice. I also like the Imperial downgrade from a narrative point of view. -

I for one don't like cloth pieces on minifigs (never did, even as a kid, growing up with solid capes), so the new pauldron mould is most welcome. It looks great. Obviously there might be some printing problems in the future, like white on black... but still, I welcome the change. Also, late to the party: the new pilot helmet is stunning, I have been waiting for it. Hopefully the print is good, too. The Torrent starfighter might prove to be a difficult build within the restrictions of a playset, probably a little smaller than the ARC 170, but again there is hope. New building techniques and pieces might work. -

Well, agreed. But then, is Fox the standard we want? I mean, the technical problem is basically the same: Lego apparently has huge problems printing white on a dark surface. Good one. If phrased like that, yes. If however side-printing or dual moulding is needed to represent what it is supposed to represent, it is a very different issue. Yet if the super-premium high-end quality producer (that is Lego) is incapable of doing a great coat justice with the budget they allocated to the project, maybe, just maybe consider not doing it at all? You could still have that nice cap and give it a proper tunic plus trousers combination to avoid that grey apron stuff. But if you are the super-premium producer (also charging super-premium prices), and you decide to do a great coat, then that great coat better work. It does not. This is not good. And it needs to be the object of fair critique, not overblown praise like "absolutely fantastic". -

Just saw the Solid Brix Studios' review of the U-Wing, and this: "favourite minifigure out of this set", "absolutely fantastic", "wow, I love this figure"... Is he blind? Yes, the cap-and-hair piece looks very good, but how can you ignore the legs? This should be a part of her coat, i.e. white and all-around. Instead we get a grey apron which does not look like a coat at all. I do not think one should praise a figure that much that has glaring printing problems, and ideally should have been dual moulded. If that is not possible, one should not try to represent her in her coat in the first place and choose to show her without it. -

Night Trooper BP... good in principle, nice figures probably, bad for army building: a 1:1 ratio of (mostly) grey and (mostly) white Night Trooper helmets is not good. the Double Death Troopers seem to be the same, which will look bad once assembled in numbers. and who needs them in numbers anyway? Eight or at max twelve would be enough. a 1:1 ratio of Night Troopers to Death Troopers. Yes, we had with the R1-BP too, but due to the more uniform look of the soldiers I though it was ok (not good) Almost all of this could have been avoided by replacing one Death Trooper with one Night Trooper, and adding one or two new prints, most critically for the legs. But let's see if one even wants to army build them after seeing season 2.
