  1. I've got my Ep. II entry up! http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88008&hl=
  2. Thank you! Hopefully the praise isn't coming because I'm only the 2nd person to post an entry ;) I'm anxious to see the competition from the Imperial side! I agree. I've experimented with brick-built creatures in the past and have never been fully satisfied by them. However, when I was playing with these pieces the crab just seemed to fall into place. I couldn't pass up using something that practically built itself! Sorry to hear you won't be able to build this time around! Thanks for the props though! Thank you! Thank you, that means a lot coming from one of the best builders on our team :) Thanks! That's the look I was going for, glad it worked! I counted the pieces I used for a baseplate as some of the 20 because they aren't specifically a Lego "baseplate." I have plenty of my 20 extra pieces to spare so I don't mind using them for a "baseplate."
  3. Ok, in case you can't tell by the picture Hao's is undergoing some construction. Tell me what you think about the walls and whether it gets rid of the "too much black" problem.
  4. I don't know what the Rebel leaders were thinking this time, I thought as I worked on the sensor dish. I had stumbled across it after a sandstorm separated me from the rest of the strike force designated to take out Black Sun. It fact, the sandstorm and separated a lot of things. Like the crashed ship near by or the casing and power core to this sensor dish. I don't know who this belongs to, but I doubt they'd mind me making it work again. My idea was to piggyback a distress call out with a standard transmission with my new codes the Rebel Alliance gave me after they promoted me from "Trooper" to "Support Services." One thing that didn't make sense was all the Stormtrooper armor. Sandstorms didn't normally cause bite marks on armor, right? I had just finished patching the power core when I heard a chittering noise behind me. I turned around fast holding the make-shift club I had pieced together after I found out the sand had clogged my blaster. Looking right at me and looking hungry was a giant sand crab. That explains the bite marks, I decided. Now I had two problems. How to convince this crab I wasn't dessert and how to get off this rock before the Imperials or Black Sun found me. OoC: The only extra parts I used were the gray wing pieces and the Storm Trooper armor. I used 4 wing pieces to create the base plate. Four more pieces for the Stormtrooper armor. Everything else is from the parts list.
  5. I'm in the same boat. Since there is no postal delivery here on Sundays I know I have to wait at least 2 more days. As Indigo once said, "I hate waiting."
  6. Ooooo. Sounds like a really good idea. I hope it get's approved and I hope to see some fantastic results!
  7. I'm a purist so 3rd party products don't help me. I'm glad they exist and that other enjoy their products but they just aren't for me. Also, grey does represent older people well, but I don't think that's a good enough excuse for Lego to only have created 3 normal people hairstyles in white.
  8. Glad to know you support the Jedi of old. But these days Jedi are more of a myth than anything else.
  9. Um, I mentioned his hair in my first paragraph as "wizard hair." His doesn't count as "normal." It's specialized. I don't see average people walking down the sidewalk with that hairstyle.
  10. Gotta say, owning only one of the allowed sets I thought this would be really hard to do with my existing collection. But I just took a couple hours today and parted out as many pieces on the list as I had and I found I have over 75% of the allowed pieces! Now I'm up against the challenge of making those pieces look good...
  11. Has anyone else noticed the Lego does not make white hairpieces for regular minifigures? Sure we've got a dwarf beard, wizard hair, judge's wig, and minute man wig; but there are almost no normal hair styles represented in white from Lego. The last one before this year was in 1982 with the "36 Little People + Accessories": http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=x103&in=S In June we got Count Dooku's hairstyle in white and in August of this year we got Doc Brown with another white hairstyle. The BTTF set being the only one of those with white hairpieces included I feel obligated to share a picture :) So my question is: with 2 new hairstyles in white out this year are we going to finally see a wider variety of white hairpieces from Lego? What do you think?
  12. Definitely a species that only fits in Nocturnus. But is a very nice change of pace from the normal baddies you find in the region.
  13. I love, love, LOVE, the Tolkien reference! I noticed it right away even before you added that note.
  14. Love the use of chrome!
  15. Love the unique way of showing snow on the roof. Good job on both!
  16. The lack of aliens is actually part of my story that I'll include when I'm finished. Thanks for the props on the pipes. I'm really working to get the right greebling for Star Wars.
  17. I'm from Mitgardia and would like to sign up. I know I have to get assigned, but just in case it helps at all I would prefer to be on Lord Ssilyrrlith's side.
  18. Thank you for the feedback! For the stairs, if there were enough room for a minifigure to use the stairs would it be better? I tried to capture the look of the stairs from Quark's in DS9. I'll try to work on the black and am looking into getting plates from Bricklink. I have to say though that I am a big fan of stud floors and will have to keep trying to win over those of you who don't like them. Thank you for your feedback. I've really liked your builds and know I have a lot to learn.
  19. No feedback from anyone? Does that mean this is a perfect build? Anyone?
  20. I had arrived for my regular Friday shift at Hao's. "Hao" is Drallish for something like "Fun Place." Dralls aren't known for coming up with the most creative names. Being in Imperial space, non-human species try to stay in the background as much as possible to avoid punishment. My brother was out with one of his officers letting off steam over the events of the week. The main topic of the night was the Qwohog that got arrested for being too public with his actions. I was also thinking about that topic. I was thinking that it was about time I stopped holding my tongue and actually did something about the Empire's actions. OoC: Please judge as a free build. Edit: Final Picture with tile on the top :)
  21. That is a HUGE help! Thank you for the exception!
  22. I really like how you designed your base.
  23. Love the deviation from the norm here! Hope you'll be able to continue the idea to phase 2 and 3.
  24. More time is fine by me. I'm building free builds right now.
  25. Thank you everyone! It didn't do too well in the contest. But I'm glad to know there is still appreciation for the build. It is actually a species known as the Aoi who are known for making airships in the Heroica world.
