  1. OOC: I should have the whip I picked up in my inventory as well. Mortimer glances between the Harvesters and Seerus, having a hard time maintaining focus with only one eye. Taking out one harvester was bad enough, but two...? And in his condition? He scowls, still in pain, and looses an arrow at Seerus from the back row.
  2. Mortimer takes the proferred hand, rising to his feet a little shakily. He grasps his bow with both his quivering hands, aiming at the monstrosity that took his eye. "Can we kill this damn thing? It's an eyesore," he purrs menacingly, his voice still hoarse.
  3. That awkward moment when you're torn between staying in character and making a terrible pun.
  4. The Party rests, restoring themselves to full health. Afterwards, they begin their march towards the Ruins. It seemed desolate; the closer they got, they more things seemed to heat up. Soon, feet trudging along the path, things got a little cooler. They continued on, surprised to find that the trees around them were beginning to lose their leaves. It seems as though Summer, like Spring, had come and gone-- it was now Autumn. Grey stones jut towards the sky at odd angles; broken statuettes litter the ground with thier wreckage. The party glances around. The ruins seemed to resemble chariots; knights and dragons; swords and shields; all made of stone. The path led them to an opening- a Chest contained beyond. Just as the party was making their way, they were stopped short-- literally. Alexander rubs his nose where it hit the barrier. It seems as though an invisible wall was erected. The area above the entryway shimmers with a faint red light... Words form in the air. "go end trouble, honeY." ___ ___'_ ______ ____. What will the party do?
  5. That worked. Thanks for the tip.
  6. What happened? His world was black. He couldn't see. It was supposed to be cold, but it was hot. It burned. His world burned. His face burned. His eye burned. It burned it burned it burned it burned it BURNED IT BURNED. He felt bile rise up in his throat. No, not bile-- a scream. A vile, shrill, pain-wridden scream. He claws at his face. It burned. His left hand presses hard against his left eye-- blood burns a river of magma down the left side of his face, just as tears form a cold river down the right. His hands shake, the scream feral, as he presses his forehead forcefully against the cold, hard ground. Mad Mortimer Mahzan. The name echoes in his head; a name that was his. A name that belonged to him. A name he had muttered three times since leaving home. A name he didn't want to own. A name that he wanted to forget. His world was red now. He removes his shaking left hand from his left eye, glancing around frantically. He waves it in front of his face, straining himself, trying to see out of his left eye. His face contorts, every muscle in his body tenses. Why couldn't he see out of his left eye? It was no longer there. It was smeared across the ground like a bug. Like a stain. He lets out a pained sob, groaning from his chest, pressing his left hand back up against his socket and pushing his forehead back into the ground. His ground his teeth, slamming them together. He felt one crack. He could taste his blood, taste his tears, taste his pain. It burned. His world was red. Mad Mortimer Mahzan. He tries to stand, pushing up from the ground with his right hand, keeping the other pressed against where his eye should be. He manages to push off a little, but his feeble attempts fail and he crashes back to his knees. He sobs again, though it's more of a growl this time. Stand, you weak blind bastard. His world burned. His eye burned. His blood burned against his cold skin. Again, Mortimer pushes off the ground and tries to stand, this time barely managing to keep his balance. He wobbles, staggering, his only eye focused on Seerus, his left hand pressed against the burning hole of flesh where his eye was. He could barely stand on his feet, could barely see through the red mist clouding the vision of his right eye, could barely manage to hold his weapon. His world burned. His eye burned. His blood burned against his cold skin. "You arrogant monster," he growls, his voice hoarse, a lump in his throat. "Fate is a lie. The truth? You will burn. Your oculoids will burn. I will bring death." His world burned. His eye burned. His blood burned against his cold skin. His anger, though-- His anger burned brightest. His bravado was short-lived as he staggered again, bracing himself against the nearest wall. He grinds his teeth ever harder. His face covered in blood and tears, his back against the painted wall, his left hand pressed against his empty socket, Em can only think of one thing to whimper quietly to the party-- to his friends: "Help me."
  7. I've written my reponse in 105 like 5 times and it just keeps bugging out for me; whether it's my computer of the forum, I'm not sure. It'll post eventually, but it's frustrating to have written out something and be happy with it only to have it disappear.
  8. "I've no delusions about this being an easy fight," Em replies, tense. His eyes don't leave the monstrosity. "It'll probably be my hardest to date, if I'm honest. But he needs to die regardless." Em downs an Ambrosia.
  9. Em clicks his teeth. "Tch. This monster needs to die," he explains, keeping his voice low. "I don't trust him to let us walk past. He's dangerous, and he's been nice enough to show himself before offing us. The chance presented itself; I'm going to fight him."
  10. Em's malevolent smile wavers, though he manages to maintain what little composure he has. His grin is a half-scowl, his lip quivers, but his resolve doesn't fade. "Your work is amazing," Em mocks, though his tone was serious-- perhaps he was as well. In a way, it was amazing. Em grits his teeth, his voice slightly hoarse. "I feel as though I should be honoured to be invited to your gallery," he replies. "I hope, however, you don't expect me to beg so easily. Let's at least have some fun, first."
  11. Leveling everyone up/giving people the proper experience completely slipped my mind. Damn. Thanks for the catch.
  12. "Hello, Seerus," Em growls, his entire body tensing. In one swift, fluid motion, he draws his bow and knocks an arrow. He doesn't bother to hide his fear. The oculoid artist gave him chills-- the cold air of the island could hardly compare. His brow furrows, his eyes focus, and his cheek twitches. But Em smiles with clenched teeth. Malice drips from his crooked grin, just as fear darkens his vision. "I'm glad we're meeting on better terms this time, Seerus. I've been looking forward to this. Shall we paint these walls with our blood?"

The world was, indeed, odd. It seemed springtime; flowers bloomed and trees blossomed. Birds sung in the air, butterflies fluttered about without a care in the world. But everything was off. Odd. It was a dream, but it was trying hard to become reality. Everything seemed real. Everything felt real. But it was off, it was odd, and it couldn't be real. It could never be real. A faint hissing echoes through the clearing. The party looks around, unsure of its origin-- glancing at their feet, it seemed as though the deceased dream warriors were fading into the air, dissolving, leaving behind no trace of their existance-- Save a (rather poorly drawn) map. It seemed as though the party had a few routes to choose from. They were currently in the only large clearing notated on the map; From there, they could find and follow the path directly to the castle, or explore the world a little on their way. The Spire Ruins, the Forlorn Forest, some sort of "Dangerous Camp," and another Clearing seemed to be their optional destinations. The Castle and its entryway were also clearly noted. Where did the Party wish to go? The Castle? The Ruins? The Forlorn Forest? The other clearing? The Dangerous Camp?
  14. Em cracks his neck and stretches his cold limbs, ready to move on.
  15. Em frowns, squinting. "Nothing's clean cut. Doing the wrong things for the right reasons is no different than doing the wrong things for the wrong reasons. The only thing the former saves is your sense of morality. Your sanity, maybe. You're free to think what you will. I think of them as scum, myself, though I am glad they created your species."
  16. "I take it going through the mine won't be a walk in the park," Em mutters. "I've nothing else to ask."
  17. 7 damage plus the Cocky passive which makes him take triple damage from you, making him take 21 damage, I believe.
  18. "I'm glad to be questing with you as well, Boomingham" Em replies, crossing his arms. "How do we get into the Citadel?" he urges. "The way you speak, I doubt time is our friend."

  20. Em scowls, speaking up, though he kept his voice low. "That is not the matter at hand. Save the moral debate for when we aren't threatened by the Regret. The proggs have moved on from the past. They're rebuilding. They're strong. Don't reopen closed wounds. Now is not the time. These bastards are already dead. You can do nothing to them now. If you're angry, use it as motivation to kill the Regret. End the cycle. He holds the chains now. Free the Proggs from his grasp."
  21. Em frowns, trying to think of some way the glasses could be of use. Tools to communicate, lenses that could see into the soul. Why were they not weapons? How were they not weapo "We know of the Lifespark," Em replies, his frown deeper. "A little, anyways."
  22. "Dead men speak oft in ill times," Em shrugs. "What information did you come to share? What use are these glasses to us? Are they weapons?"
  23. So enemies lower than half your level will not damage you with free hits?
  24. "What is their purpose? What did you make them for?" Em asks, eyeing the black glass. "Why make such a tool?"
  25. ROUND ONE: Bartholomew Docken VS Dream Knight A - Hit! 50 - 27 = 23. Alexander Vandangant VS Dream Archer - Special Damage! 20% of health = 7, Bleeding = 5 / 36 - 12 = 24. Bartholomew gets a good hit on one of the Dream Knights and defends himself with his menacing aura from the other; Annienal manages to take a good stab at the Dream Rogue. Francis and Alexander both get overwhelmed, Francis taking a light hit from the Rogue and Alexander taking a hard-hitting arrow from the archer.
