The Alchemyst

Went to a large annual Garage sale at a school. What a haul! Around 8.5 pounds [4kg] of Bionicle/Technic, and another 8.5 lb for Bulk System. Many of the system was from Knight's Kingdom so there was a lot of Dark Red and Dark tan. :D There were like 12 Minifigs, 10 KK, other are random. o.o A lot of accessories though. :D There were also 4 large complete KK figures, and an Xpod. Not to mention like $30+ worth of Bionicle masks. All for $33USD. But here's the kicker. A complete [i think, still building it] UCS Imperial Star Destroyer, used, for $20. EDIT Oh, and after check out, I'm sitting waiting, and an AFOL walks in, looks at the box and is in disbelief when I say I bought it for $20; he offers to buy it for $25. XD So that's like $400+ worth of Lego for less than $55. [-The Alchemyst-]

I don't think Vertea's Gelu looks like the reader guy's at all, it's a lot cleaner, and less stylized. Looks more like clean cut Mhan. [-The Alchemyst-]

Both of you definitely need to enter the Surel and Certavus contests. <3 both, Antrozek has style while Vertea's has a clean-cut set-like lines. Don't know what's going on with your background though, V. :P Looks like he's on clouds. XD Anyway, what I think about the small sets: MahriToran > MoLToran > Av-Matoran/Agori> Turaga > MetruToran> McToran > Va I've only had Dekar, a bunch of McToran and Va, Turaga Onewa, Dume and Metus, and Hafu meaning I have no basis for the Hydruka, Rahaga, Voyatoran [and to some extent Metrutoran or Av-toran], so I took those out. Mahritoran were amazing. Colors, articulation, posability and not to mention recolored masks <3. Only things that could make them better are all limbs as Bohrok Limbs [o some way to get wrist articulation] and the new cut eyes. The back was bare, but I didn't mind too much; it wasn't that bad. McToran are cute, but to me are nothing more than little statues: They don't move. ._. Turaga and Va I never really liked. Va had the annoying Krana holsters that never held. >_< MoLToran had articulation, and a neat weapon, but the articulation for the legs were wonky and they fell easily. Metrutoran had Articulation, and masks and cool launchers. Backs were ugly and heads were annoying. Metus look really funny, with his bent limbs. D: Av-Toran were probably better in terms of masks [Kanohi>Helms for meee], but the Agori have delicious weapons. [-The Alchemyst-]

Eh, in that pose, the weapons, armor and mask look pretty awesome. Vastus sucks so much. Still can't tell what's going on with the mask. Stronius better not be Mata Red. We already had that. The lack of Upper arm armor [they could have put some on the back, at least, or maybe made a new mold, having a short double joint with the axle in the middle. D:] is disruptive. Other than that I still like. Gelu is thinner than I expected and looks way too weak. But those are the sexiest blades to exist. Ever. [-The Alchemyst-]

Hey, maybe it's proportional to the Titan Mata Nui set. The set sucks though. It all the body pieces were recolored Black... That would be awesome. Well... The Hewkii blade is still way too ugly and long. @_@ But the set would be so worth getting. [-The Alchemyst-]

I'd be fine with 1 if we could call all that silver armor and weapons "ceremonial weapons after retirement". It just looks silly with all that silver otherwise. Dunno if anyone can pull a win now though. =/ 26 votes... And already over a 1000 have voted. N, what I don't like about your Certavus too much is that although the fighting style may be Certavus, with minimal weapons, the looks, with the bo and hat gives it an Oriental feel, while this year we have all theses Latin roots and Gladiators. I think that's the same problem I have with Bunda's. That's a sexy weapon, but that and the gunmetal throw me off from the old Roman stuff. It's not to say the other MOCs are perfect, by all means no, but I'm personally rooting for Brickeens now, seeing that he Bunda and whoever made 1 are the only ones who stand a chance at winning now. Unless there's suddenly a huge biased turnout. :P Latest RoS was great. [-The Alchemyst-]

Didn't know that Wrink, thanks for the info, I'll definitely have to keep that in mind when I'm building another MOC. But if you pull the Certavus down so the feet match up, and not the shoulders, bam, everything fits. So proportionally correct, in terms of limbs, just not the torso? o.O?? Thanks, and I don't think the arms are short, I tried to keep him proportionately accurate. [stand up, and your fists should come down to the middle of your thighs, like here] I guess it's relatviely short, compared to the recent sets. Can't argue with a color choice opinion like that. I told you I was going to use the Metus Helmet. :P Introducing, in the Left Corner, standing 8 and a quarter inches, tall, the lean, the mean, the wise, no lies... Certavus! [Pic links to gallery] After getting Metus, I fell in love with the backwards mask. The spikes up front give him an edgy character. Overall Body shot 3/4 Angle Nifty Life Counter function; turnable because of balljoint, held in place by the socket, it works! Ka-Blam! Height Comparison with Vorox. Shields, you can defend and then... Bam! And another one, right in the face! Sexy Triumphant Pose I'll just have some quick bullets for you guys to read, no long monologue, no sirree. - Battleshield, supposed to be from a large Animal he fought off to defend Iconox [You need smarts to beat something stronger and larger than you]. - Why a shield, when he said that the mind is better than a shield? Because it's a small shield. It's versatile, leading to different ways it can be used. - Lean and mean. Agility > Brute Strength and bulk for someone smart like Certavus. - Red Armor. Cause no one else was doing it, and plus, I saw it as some ceremonial special armor, [Champion for many times in the Atero Arena, and Champion of Iconox]. It looks spifftastic, no? Eh, I lost interest a bit, in 2004, anywho. I wasn't much of a storyline geek then. I didn't think anything. Since Lego didn't send me Comics 14 or 15. Go for the $20 Jetrax. And the supposed $10 Rockoh. Rockoh is amazing, <3 its function. It seems that they're at a bunch of Walmarts. Oh, and Targets have really erratic clearances, so check up one those. Seems that Lego Stores aren't having clearances on Vehicles, other than Mazeka and his Swamp Strider, but I haven't checked there in Weeks. Too bad Walmarts are only in suburban Chicago [for me]. ._.;; [-The Alchemyst-]

They're just cheesier than usual I guess. I really liked the 2-4 [i think the Mahri one lasted 4... o.o] minute CGI movies of 07 and 08, I hope to see more. :3 And I just got Vorox and Metus. Metus is meh, mask, head and shield are the only good parts, got him for the Certavus contest. Vorox is beautiful. The tan, the armor, the mask, the tan again... He's just lovely. EDIT: Might be slowpoke to some of you, but I recently found out that Lewa11 is continuing his Bionicle: Quest of the Toa fanmovie. It's stunning and professional. ._. I love the music too.
