Pirates of course! 1.Lego pirates was very good from the beggining, Pirates was the first Lego System theme whose minifigs didn't have the simple face with the stupid smile like that icon: :-) 2. Lego Pirates were great since 1989 to 1993, when Indigo Islanders were released, the theme became not as good as the british guys (imperial guards and soldiers), but that were only 2 years. Lego pirates became to be good again with Imperial armada About Lego Castle: 1. in the beggining, lego castle wasn't good, because all minifigs had the stupid smile, and the buildings were simple(thats normal because lot of toys are simple in the beggining, but pirates were good in the beggining) 2.Lego castle began to be good in 1992 with Black Knights, and was good too with dragon knights and royal knights, but in 1997 Fright Knights were released, and they were terrible(im my opinion, a bad copy of Dragon knights). 1998 Japanese guys were good but they were canceled early 3. Knights Kindom was always worse than the 90's

thanks for your offer, mister_phes, but i prefer die to be a corsair, I'LL NEVER BE A CORSAIR! i am a buccaneer and i'll be a buccaner until i die. and now i am on holidays, and i visit the forum with a portable pc, i am a lego fanatic and i need visit the lego forums, when i come back to my home, i'll show you my MOC creation ;)

i have voted for the imperial flagship, i don't like the spanish ship because it has only a cannon, and the clipper isn't realistic because the Stairs of the mast begins inside the ship and not to the Prow and stern of the ship.

then, we are enemies, i am a pirate ;) well, very good creation, mister phes, i'd like to create a so cool set, my only creation is an island with two Hanged skeletons(one of them with a pirate hat) in a palm :^^D

On the other hand, all ships except The Black Seas Barracuda have large and visible Jolly Roger emblems. I prefer the Barracuda because it's much more complex, has all these hatches the SES is missing (well it has those two made of "wing" parts but they look very silly). And I don't like these rotating cannons - good for playing but not realistic. All these holes with arches are in fact too small for the minifigs to get to the other side (to the ratlines for instance), and the "propeller unit" used for raising anchor looks fine but it's located in the worst possible place - covered by a long plank so that the poor guy who's been ordered to raise the anchor will have much difficulty rotating the whole thing. Yes, this fellow is a rare figure (was the Renegade Runner the only set containing him?), I have two of them and gave one of the torsos to a female minifig, it looks cool. On the other hand, all ships except The Black Seas Barracuda have large and visible Jolly Roger emblems that's right, but captain Roger emblems aren't as visible as black seas barracuda colours, i think a pirate ship with red and white colours. well, you may be true about the rotating cannons and about the anchor, but i think the hatches are good althought they have the same form of a wings. and i think when you said "holes with arches" you are talking about the windows of the house of the Stern,arent you? i think they are not so bad. You talked too about a female pirate, she is my favorite pirate figs(when we talk about the common pirates and not the captains). I have one ironhook who i took when i bought "enchanted island"(you know captain ironhook is the principal character of islanders sub-theme). I hate islanders sub-theme, i bought enchanted island but i haven't that set nowadays, i have only ironhook's boat. well, captain ironhook was the captain who appears in all islanders sets, but in the photo of 1994 catalogue, appears Skull's eye schooner in the islands of indigo islanders, and captain Roger/Redbeard appears running to king hakuka's treasure

the best is skull's eye schooner because he had the best dessign, and 4 mobile cannons. I don't like the black seas barracuda so much because it has 4 cannons which you can't move, and the design is not good, colours are very visible and pirate ships shouldn't be visible, if they are visible, soldiers can capture them easily, and Red Beard Runner has only 3 cannons, and the designs is not very realistic. the Renegade runner is simple and has only a cannon, but is a good ship for little children and is a good set because that ship is the only ship that is not captained by Captain Redbeard/Captain Roger, because is Captained by Captain Ironhook. I don't like cross bone clipper, colours are visible and terrible.

both are british, red guys are the marines, and blue guys are the naval army

renegade runner design is better than cross bone clipper design, but they aren't so cool as the big ships like Skull's eye schooner

Why do LEGO toys have value to you? they have value to me because i am a big child and i love lego pirates, when i was 4, my parents bought me some legos, but i was too little to know built the sets. when i was 8 i became a lego fanatic. In 1996 i found a 1993 catalogue, pirates were always my favourites, and i saw imperial trading post, skull's eye schonner, rock island refuge and other interesting sets, while in 1996 imperial sets are only two, and the santa cruz(the armada ship of that year) had only a cannon. I was looking for non-released legos lots of times, and i could buy Imperial trading post, skull's eye schooner, rock island refuge, cannon cove and non-pirate sets non-released yet like robin hood sets of lego castle. well, other lego system themes(castle, space,submarine, etc) have value for me because there are nostalgia, but pirates have value for me because they are my favourites, and now i have 18 years old and i continue playing with lego pirates. What makes LEGO brand construction toys worth your money? i don't know, lot of times without buying LEGO In what way has the LEGO brand let you down? To cancelling pirates theme in 1997! pirates were the best legos, the first legos which hadn't a stupid face with a stupid smile like this: :) .they had a lot of good things, they were very funny and things like skull's eye schooner are pieces of art! But in 1994, islanders were a stupid sub-theme. ah, and knight's kingdom are worse than the old lego castle, 1995 royal knights were the best in lego castle. Recently, how has the LEGO brand improved? recently, nothing. But i'd like to say they improved when they stopped to make stupid faces with stupid smiles. First lego castle( Crusaders, the oldest black knights, robin hood, etc) had that stupid face, same as old lego space(clasic, futuron, M-Tron, first space police, and blacktron). And they improved with the new face in lego castle (1992 black knights, wolf people, dragon knights, royal knights...but not Fright Knights, they were the worst in castle theme) and in lego space( 1992 space police, also called "the green guys", spyrius, and the best, exploriens) What would you like to see LEGO (re)introduce in the next three years? i think they are terrible! they are terrible pieces of plastic, they are not pirates, they are...(well, i think i musn't be rude) Lego system pirates were the best legos, they were the first minifigs that hadn't got that stupid face with a stupid smile that had the old legos(except standart soldiers), they had very expresive faces, and they were very funny. The actual pirates have a terrible design

I have Skull's Eye Schooner because is my favourite pirate ship. the design is cool (i don't like the design of Black Seas Barracuda because colours are very visible and pirate ships musn't be visible, because if they are visibles, they can't stole in other boats and soldiers can captured them easily) and Red Beard Runner has only 3 cannons. But the problem is that skull's eye schooner's cannons can't fire correctly. Can somebody tell me about Black seas barracuda's cannons can fire better that skull's eye schooner? thanks
