  1. guys this is just a severe case of artistic freedom/license haha, they mean nothing to the overall story. the comics are cool. feel very vintage, very outdated, i love them
  2. the toa were summoned tho. and they all seem to come from different planets or whatevs, based on the legend murals
  3. Aren't they called protectors because they protect (they dont do a good job against those spiders tho) the Golden masks of power? while the rest kinda just, lives in villages
  4. I dont know if it has been mentioned already, but LEGO already posted the NYCC presentation pictures on their Facebook, we get clear images on some of the concept art and animation stills
  5. All these news dear lord I need to draw Makuta and Akimo so bad now the toys look amazing, better than in their cgi, the character info on the masters is really nice, and all the beautiful concept art and animated shorts pictures we've been getting please lego release all the concept art in HD on your facebook pleaseeee this reboot is going full strenght
  6. omg that is a stand, for the toys. so pretty! god help me if they do a 1:1 mask of creation for the stand too
  7. if all the defenders got the same masks, then that would make the toa masks really really special but it could be that there are matoran who have distinctive masks and the Defenders of the villages who use the same masks, like a soldier with an uniform hopefully. i wouldn't like every matoran being Jaller mahri
  8. to this date, all the gold/yellow pieces in those sets upset me. they just look so out of place but at least it looks like you could build a golden set out of all those pieces a very ugly one
  9. just like p much lewa and kopaka, her shoulderpads are connected from the balls of the CCBS skeleton, that are left unused thanks to the technic gear function
  10. Pohatu is made of love, he has a really interesting weapon. I just wish the boomerangs werent solidly added to th hands, and instead we could throw them with the technic function I am not completely sure about Tahu's new mask, the shape changed completely. also makes him look...younger? (and he gained a big jaw too) Gali's mask looks really unflattering from that perspective. the golden one does give it a better look
  11. I certainly would prefer if the 2015 masters stay as the main heroes. and each wave we get only a few allies. and the rest bad guys (like in 2003) they would certainly have more variation in design than good guys, specially if Lego is bringing functions to Bionicle back
  12. im glad they go for magic personally. it avoids some unnesesary explanations if anything, this magic is just technology they dont understand. (hopefully. that's why I loved 2001-2003 so much, technologically inept ROBOTS. beautiful)
  13. just because it is the mask of creation, doesn't means it wont be a reboot. The mask should be on Artakha after all. and here it's just floating around, waiting to be found
  14. man we really need pictures with the BGs. I really like the defender's homes in the Fire defender Background. maybe that's what the defender's box BGs will have. direct pictures of their villages. while the masters are "out in the wild" Box backgrounds. questing for the masks
  15. I hope the spear piece of Kopaka (and the one behind Pohatu) are placeholders too. they are Rahkshi spear pieces. while looking good, it sort of breaks the aesthetic of the other Masters weapons a bit. and Chro! yes im working on something little **link**, But I guess I'll have to change the mask designs now that we got clear pics on em
  16. gooshshh, Onua is a must. I love that his hammer resembles a face from a vertical angle. I am not rly happy with the golden pieces. they dont mix that well with the rest of the colors. that ignika placeholder tho (well hopefully it's a placeholder)
  17. it's been a while since I posted here, I am amazed by how much this thread progressed with every little detail we got about Bionicle's return I been checking the large colored version of the leaked picture. so looked the masks the Toa have. and just little ago I came up with this (they're from a piece im working on, so they're stylized). I noticed a thing that all masks seem to have in common (except for Onua's and Kopaka's, since they're just too blurry to see). So, they all seem to have those "earpad" things on the side of their masks, it could be merely a design choice. but they are quite prominent on Tahu, and lewa and Gali. it could be that the new kanohi are attached from there. Also the tiny spiders on every set seem to have moveable pieces. so im thinking. rather than being solid pieces of plastic. like the brains and the small kaijus from HF, what if these skull spiders actually use the new Bionicle head as their base or something like that? cant wait to see if NYCC has anything to show
  18. wow this episode was bland. weak script. terrible choice of voices. suddenly Furno is a hardened veteran, Surge is an aussie while Evo and Bulk are running a radioconference. Breez and Stormer voices were a bit in touch with their characters. IF they were kept in characters. Evo was given a total recharacteriation again. if that can even be called that way. terrible plot turnaround in the end. I decided that maybe I found this uninteresting because im older than the the target audience. but a friend of mine showed it to kids in her school. and everyone was so uninterested. while the action was okay,it was too hard to follow. EVERYTHING was hard to follow I praise the animation done with the small budget they surely had to work with. the enviromental design was great. thanks again to the conceptual artists. such as Faber. sadly that's just it. It really seemed like it could have been a really good episode. and turned out as bland as Brain attack. just with better action. I loved how Breez talked the problem out of the beast. and then after everything went caboots because one of the bugs. she and the other just went "OH OKAY. HEY EVERYONE. YOU'RE SAFE. JUST DONT GO MAKING ANY MORE HOLES KAY? *WINK*" like if nothing happened. I am really glad how they actually took off their helmets at the end. wish the faces werent so unexpressive, but I guess that Ghost and Advance didn't had much design freedom in the end.
  19. BULK CONFIRMED FOR CUTE BABY it's funny how all their helmets create a Jaw looking plate for their faces, also they swapped the spike he had on the face onto his helmet
  20. if that was a queen, it would be very unninpresive, I think it's just an egg keeper.
  21. is there a HD picture of evo walker yet?
  22. haha I may end up buying some of them next year! they look amazing. I hope that the back of the bags have more art. I wonder if the CGI short is going to be done in that style?
  23. SO HEY GUYS. I AM BACK. AGAIN. AGAIN. AGAIN each year is the same. a new wave is revealed. then I go on and I draw stuff regarded to it, you know how it goes. k anyway here we have some concepts and workouts I did regarding the Hero factory robots. right now I am also working on the mechs from the 2014 wave. I am pretty happy with that wave. specially the Evo Walker. I have great plans for that. ok so here we have first concepts for the hero body (in white and gray) and then the finished one in reds. then I moved on and did some turn arounds and details on it. and then there’s the heavy duty “Kevlar” suit. that someone with a big frame like Duncan Bulk’s could use more coming soon
  24. I suppose I have to upload this thing that shows the preliminar veteran armor in detail. I wouldn't know how to get in detail on the armor components and built. because of my terribad english. but let's put it like this. 1.0 heroes are pure metal. but they lack in flexibility. armor overlaps eachother and it blocks mobility. and also it makes the hero alot heavier. 2.0 heroes are different. they have a whole built in skeleton with core chamber. entirely covered with artifically generated muscle tissue made out of carbon fiber (good to conduct electricity. but not a good heat conductor. making the hero body efficient against heat). an artifical dermis to protect the insides of the hero. think of the hero body as...briaeros or any other cyborg from Appleseed. the armor now. it's simplistic. with now the hero having a body that gives them flexibilty. greater strenght. speed and less weight. the hero armor can be light or heavy depending of the rank of the hero. or their needs. the hero armor consists of 3 main materials. Nomex, Wolfram and carbon fiber. the hero puts on a suit made of reinforced nomex to protect them from the heat or chemical based weaponry, such as laser rifles or acid weapons then straps and screws different plates of armor all over the body. except where the it would block mobility. which is why they dont have big shoulderpads. or a full body armor like maximillian armor (even if flexible. not flexible enough for a hero). the straps are made of reinforced carbon fiber. and the armor is made of a metal alloy composed of wolfram and stainless steel. the armor protects the hero perfectly from heat, ballistic, acidic and radioactive based weaponry. the whole armor doesn't really have any fancy technollogy applied to it. It's just an old fashioned armor. but more resistant.
  25. OK SO I REDESIGNED STUFF AGAIN, I NEVER STAY IN ONE PLACE DO I. this is a work in progress of a group picture im doing, the whole ALPHA1 division of the Hero factory. this is the first time I drew all hero armor types at once (excluding XL, which i prefer not to bring into canon because it's dumb i prefer XL to be a suit where the hero gets in rather than a whole body swap) anyway. these are the armor types we got: Rookie armor : Julius Nex and Nathan Evo Hero armor : Natalie Breez and Mark Surge Veteran armor: Rocka, Jimi Stringer and Preston Stormer Vehicle armor : William Furno Heavy Duty armor : Duncan Bulk I'll ink and color this later
