Nice work! Especially I like the latest part, your Lego room. Your project shows that it really isn't easy to replicate apartments same time trying to fit everything in compact space. But - you've managed!

But the minidoll parts aren't stackable like minifigure ones. It is more efficient (and cheaper) to stack different torsos and legs than reserve a bin for every sort...

Storing minifigure parts is quite "easy", even in large quantities, but what about Friends/Disney/Elves minidolls? I seem to have almost 400 of those now and some nice storage method would be great. Something that is more visible than just a pile of torsos. Hair pieces could be added to minifigure hair bins - but heads, torsos and legs are a little different story. How have you managed to store your minidolls?

Here's my first bigger building project from this Spring. This was a part of our Finnish LUG's modular city at Model Expo 2016 in Helsinki Fair Center in April. Desperate Housewives has been my favourite tv series for a long time, and I have wanted to build the houses and their residents in brick for ages. I knew it would take a lot of effort, but I couldn't imagine how last-minute-ready the whole thing will finally be. You can see a few shortcuts taken here and there, but the main point was whole time more on the whole street itself than on little details. Of course I wanted to make the residents as authentic as I could at the moment, and it was a must to include as much small story details into the layout as possible - still keeping only one copy of each character present. I'm finishing my 10-year-inventory soon so there will be an update to my Wisteria Lane now that I have all the time, space and bricks I ever need for it. Last week's happy moments were when I visited local department store and found (original prices): City Alarm game ~10€ (25€) Red Creator sports car ~10€ (23€) 2x Creator Log cabin ~14€ (35€) SW board game ~11€ (40€) Next day I accidentally visited the same store again and managed to get: 2x Creator House with sound brick ~25€ (65€) City Space Center ~35€ (90€) Cars Flo's Cafe ~20€ (75€)

Nope, never before... I know that I would love to stay several weeks in Berlin, but my job and my wallet won't allow it. And when you don't see everything, then there's always a reason to visit again. And oh what a joy it was in Hamburg to shop all day, filling your hotel room with bricks... So, any hypermarket tips? Or shop for used bricks anywhere?

That's true for sure. Well, I have Saturday and especially Sunday to visit the city itself, so let's hope that's enough. :)

Hi, Since I got so excellent tips for Hamburg in May from you , I decided to ask you tips for my visit to Berlin (3.-5.8.2012). Of course I'll visit all the obvious shops (LEGO Store, Kaufhof, Karstadt), but are there any good advices for even better shopping trip? I have almost the whole Friday for shopping, so also a little trip by U-bahn is definatly ok. Is there some kind of shop for used bricks, like in Hamburg?

Hi and thanks for everybody for your hints! We were at our hotel at 10:45 but still there weren't time to visit elsewhere than the city centre and Hamburger Comic-Laden... (Half an hour I spent trying to get cash because I once again forgot that it is quite impossible to pay with credit/debit card's debit side in the Middle Europe...) Anyway, maybe 20-25 kg LEGO was carried to Finland. Town Hall and Red Cargo Train assembled. Btw, Cargo train was 30€ cheaper at Kaufhof (120€) than in LEGO Store. Hamburger Comic-Laden was really a place worth to visit, unfortunately I had just half hour for my visit. I bought Metro Park & Service Tower for 50€ (and some other stuff), haven't still checked if there are all and correct parts. Hope so, I have bad experiences about 2nd hand LEGO shopping, and there were some sets that didn't have all the parts there should have been. But still, awesome shop with huge LEGO shelves and very polite staff.

Or maybe S21 to Eidelstedt and there by A1 to Hörgenweg? Is there another shop in Harburg or is it just their office there? (Seeveplatz)

Thank you Miss Kyle for excellent tips! Hmm, it depends how hard-to-get those shops are. If it is just one bus or U-bahn line away, then there's no problem. I'll check. Now this sounds like a must place to visit! I have visited a little bit similar shop in Stockholm few times so I can't wait to see what this shop might offer... If anyone remembers some toy shops that are easily accessable by one U-bahn line, feel free to tell, there's still plenty of time, it's not Saturday morning yet. :D

Thanks for quick tips, guys! I'll do some googling before travelling, some discounts would be nice, at least for PoTC (Atlantis has already been sold cheaply out in Finland). Maybe Minifigs is the one thing to hunt there, some older sets for a lower price would also be a cool thing. We have had some great clearings in Finland, too, but Germany's list prices are so good compared to Finnish prices that even a smaller discount can be lethal to my wallet. :D Though, must keep my eyes open, right? Kaufhof store chain had similar prices to Finnish ones when visiting Düsseldorf last spring... So the prices can vary quite much in German, too, I think.

Hello my German friends and everybody else who is familiar with shopping bricks in Hamburg area. I'm visiting city of Hamburg shortly next weekend (5.-6.5.) and would like to know if there are some great shops to visit during my stay. LEGO Store is my main target, but if there are any good shops not-so-far-away that might have some great offers, it would be great to know them before visiting. In several Citymarkets there are Ninjago, Harry Potter, Heroica Fortaan and Champion board games at 10€, but not in all stores (according to last week)

Hi supersympa, I'm also visiting Stockholm this weekend. Do you think it is worth of it to visit TRU or BarnensHus? Helsinki region in Finland has just had dozens of offers where last years sets are reduced -30-70%, will I find similar cheap prices or maybe not? I do not have my car with me, only SL's travel card, will it be worth of it to take a trip to Nacka or Kungens Kurva? :) Edit: Night City Dream: If you have time, I recommend visiting Model Team's cozy office in Bandhagen (www.modelteam.se), there you can meet a real Lego enthusiast with new and used Lego for sale (new sets usually same or little bit under catalog price, used sets BL priced). You can also buy BrickJournals and even ask for individual parts. It is open quite rarely (few hours couple of times a week), so check their web site carefully.

I had several of those years ago but I was stupid that I broke them into pieces to get small baseplate sections for my needs. As you can see, those don't fit well with normal baseplates because of their dimensions. I suppose it is some kind of special building contest baseplate from early 90's, perhaps? I hope I have saved at least one whole baseplate... Must check.

Hi, Those bags are similar to the ones that were used when (at least) in Finland there were those "Chaos-Pick-A-Prick lots" at hypermarkets *). It was about 6-8 years ago, at the time LEGO was emptying their warehouses from extra colours and bricks. *) Several big boxes (approx. 60x40x30cm) filled with odd bricks and pieces (just like in the picture). You were allowed to fill a bag / cup / blue box with those for certain amount (5€-30€ or something.

This sounds really interesting. I'm eagerly waiting for pictures and video about the happening. I already got excited with my 765 different sets when I read the announcement telling his set count is about 1200 different sets... This is my goal whenever I get my inventory finished. I have maybe 100-200 litres of bulk brick (2xn), but I don't have any idea how long they can last when building supports for layers. Maybe I should start with a 10-15 brick high "basement layer", that could hide subway, parking places, basements, pipes etc.

Hi, I'm visiting Düsseldorf and Cologne this week, are there any tips from you? What shop would you recommend from this area? Are there any cheaper stores than Galeria Kaufhof, whose prices were just the same as in Finland? Any shops with good discounts? Tips for LEGO Store Cologne, I'll be visiting there Wednesday/Thursday/Friday? I have access to use the public transport (especially in VRR Area), so U-bahn/tram/bus is not a problem.

Nope, no 3rd wave yet in Finland. There are still lots of 2nd wave minifigs availabe in many stores.
