  1. Here's a post about different tires that will fit the Lego 44772 Wheels, the same ones that come with the 9398: http://www.eurobrick...75#entry1339109
  2. Yea Mahjqa has some pretty sweet MOCS. I wanna try and create the Ghost in the Shell one myself: http://rebrickable.com/mocs/mahjqa/tachikoma
  3. I can only speak for Seattle, WA area. Right now it's $119 at TRU (with this weeks $20 off LEGO in stores).
  4. Looks like it would be pretty fun making small movies with Lego Technic sets :-) I want to see them re-shoot that with a PFed 42000 set, although not sure it could get up to enough speed to do all those sweet flips.
  5. Hmm, I think you might be on to something with the "buy originals" to get the high quality A Models instructions Since if they just cared about space they would have did the minimum size possible while keeping some sort of details, like the one I created using my scans and massive compression in photoshop. But it's all a moot point, I just need to get my hands on more originals so I can remedy this Official TLG PDF: 9.5MB Personal Scanned PDF: 33MB Super Compressed Personal Scan (below): 4.4MB
  6. TRU is having a $20 off on $75+ Lego Purchase, excludes Ninjago sets. In Store ONLY - Ends March 2nd 2013 Might be area specific, I'm in the Seattle, WA Area.
  7. I just happened to go to TRU today to pickup the 9396 Helicopter and noticed that I got $20 off on my receipt. Thought I'd check this out and noticed they are offering $20 off for any Lego set $75+. The only exception is on Ninjago sets. I'm sure this is area specific, I'm in the Great Seattle, WA area. Might be a way to get a little discount on the 42000 set.
  8. It's like those gasoline paint jobs, different angles show different colors. In this case a certain angle and the seat will change shape, very impressive.
  9. Regarding those PDF instructions, I've found a bunch of the A Models (the instructions that come in the box) are usually the worst. It baffles me that they can't turn their digital copies of the instructions into PDFs with higher quality images (aka, being able to see the holes on black pieces). I've personally started cutting up some of my own instructions, scanning them, and will put them online when I find a good place to do so. TLG vs Personal Scan
  10. I just got back into legos as well, and I recently purchased just about all the ones that Tom (TBS) had outlined in his post, just missing the 9396 set. I'm also going to pickup all the sets from this year, then maybe start picking and choosing after that. Just got my 42000 in the mail today, so going straight to building the B Model for that one (Race Truck).
  11. Looking pretty good, can't wait to get mine delivered in a few days. Although I think I'm gonna build the B-Model first.
  12. That's pretty awesome. I love how fluid those wings move. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Besides building the A & B Models for each of them and learning different techniques. I'm also interested in combining the brains of the NXT brick to the awesomeness of these sets. For example I wanted to add some brains to the 8043 - Motorized Excavator for something as simple as automatically choose which actuator to turn to pickup a item in front of it. But before that I'm gonna start with a simple PF controlled SUGV.
  14. Hello my name is John Sanford and I'm originally from a little island in Alaska, now live in the Seattle, WA area. I remember playing with legos with my cousins, I only had a few myself but they had a TON of them. Being from a native fishing village we created a ton of the different types of boats everyone owned on the island, seine boats, bow pickers, etc. Recently bought the Lego Mindstorm set and that sparked my interest in all things Technic. Picked up a few of the larger sets, some small ones, and a bit of random bricks here and there; which I have on my Rebrickable Profile. Well, that's it for now.
  15. Update: See previous post, it was moved from General Discussion.
  16. Hello, Just got an email from Toys R Us that the 42000 Technic Grand Prix Racer is in stock: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=17476046 Thats all, can't wait to get mine in next week :-)
  17. Hello, I couldn't seem to find anything in the forum regarding the terrible scans that TLG puts on their websites for the A Models of their Technic sets (only sets I checked, haven't look at others). This is very apparent when looking at the Black colored beams in these sets, it's near impossible to make out where the holes are. They have the original digital files for these instructions, why do they give us such crappy quality PDFs. Does anyone know of a website that contains both the Official Lego Instructions as well as clean scans of these poorly done ones? I know when I started downloading all the PDF instructions for my own sets, I went ahead and sliced up a few of my physical books and scanned them since the official ones were so bad. Thank goodness for the sheet fed double sided scanner I recently purchased. Example: Lego 42000 - Grand Prix Racer
  18. Is it just me or is it near impossible to see the holes on the black pieces for the A Model? While downloading the instructions for the sets I own, I noticed about 3 out of 10 were this way.
  19. Shrug, I'm sure I accidentally tweaked the model when I was messing with the Gears to get them to fit. Now that I know how to use LDD a little better now, I may just start over and fix most of these issues. I wish LDD had a visible history (similar to a photo application) so I can see when I accidentally mess something up. Thanks for the pictures and taking a look.
  20. 8063 - Tractor with Trailer / Theme: Technic - LXF <LDD 4> This is the Tractor Only from the LEGO 8063 Technic Set. The Trailer and Seed Drill were created previously by BrickWild. Official Instructions | Brickset | Bricklink Issues: * All of the Flex Rods have issues in LDD, since they don't seem to be flexible: Engine, Wheel Covers: #32201 - Red Flex Rod 14M Cabin: #32199 - Black Flex Rod 11M Roof: #32200 - White Flex Rod 12M * Image - The a-frame doesn't line up at the top of the roof * Image - Missing Black Outer Cable 96mm (#60676) in LDD, used the Black Outer Cable 136mm (#76270) in it's place. * Image - Couldn't get the 24T Gear and the Worm Gear to line up, just need to replace the Bushing with the 24T Gear. Update: Started over from scratch to fix some weird alignment issue with my first model. Also noticed that LDD has a missing piece, see note in the Issues section.
