Watched Force Awakens today, it was ... interesting. Not going to say much due to spoilers etc, etc but I feel like it re-treaded *too* much ... The pacing seemed a bit too fast aswell and a lot more story could've been told then the retreading there was instead ... What does everyone else think about the parts I've gone over?

This has made me seriously re-see the entire trilogy of films. Whilst it's a shame Del Toro left and that had a HUGE impact on the films, after talking to Jed Brophy (actor of Nori) at a convention I was quite interested that he said that Del Toro originally planned for the Hobbit to be darker than what the Lord of the Rings films were, quite interesting as that wouldn't have really worked sequentially. He also said that Martin was disappointed with how the films turned out and that it was quite different to what he signed onto way back when. But yea, I recommend watching that video, it's actually quite sad when you watch it and reconsider it all. The Hobbit was more the problem of the WB etc, then Peter himself.
