"Oops." Meerabeau comments, looking guilty. Fix-It chuckles to himself heartily. "If need be I can have Meerabeau administer first-aid. She's much more capable in the art of healing than I am, admittedly. Well, everyone in town calls me Mr. Fix-It, so that's what I go by. I suppose it's a nickname, but it's a nice one. There's a part of me that is genuinely happy to know that the villagers of Knothole consider me such a fine member of the community that they all call me Fix-It. Truly blessed stuff." Fix-It's gaze draws to MILES. "My, my, what an incredible piece of technology! Tell me, where are you from, MILES?" Yelana Deception Check (DC: 2): (2,6,6) Two Successes "Oh, no, it's no big issue." Meerabeau replies, waving her hands in objection. "He's been much busier than usual lately, what with the festival and his secret project, but he's pretty cool with people coming to speak to him." The large metal block with a pink heart painted on it was likely a core for a large piloted robot. Although a more thorough overview could determine where it was made, it was likely from a decommissioned mech-suit used in freight yards and docks across the Arm. Yelana Perception Check: (DC: 1): (4,5,6,6 +1 Success) Five Successes Yelana thinks back to the image of Harrigan's wanted poster and the sight of the aggressive looking O'kor'uk present in it. Although this looks like him, his overall smile and pleasant demeanour betray the image of the grizzled, hardened pirate the image portrayed. From the metal plate on his forehead to his overall height and build, to his busted nose, Mr. Fix-It physically matches Gorthizar Harrigan to a tee.

Zaria loosens her grip on Dean as she turns back to the door to ensure nothing else slunk its way into the next container. She let herself sigh in relief as the doors close, keeping the pulsating mass of flesh and tendril away. She takes a few deep breaths, placing her hands on her knees as she catches her breath. Her gaze turns to Dean as she notices his fixation on her bloodied blade. "Dean." Zaria takes a moment to try and find the words to say to the terrified agent, failing. "There was nothing left for me to do but to end his suffering. I made my strike on him as painless as I could. All journey's come to an end. Some much shorter, much more tragically than others. I am sorry." She straightens herself and produces a cloth from her satchel, from which she solemnly cleans her blade of blood and ichor. "May his final journey to the place where all travels end be swift and comfortable." She attaches the Repulsor to her Dune Sea Armour as she acknowledges the weight of her khopesh more than usual.
-
As Zaria is bashed about the Hydras she swings her khopesh in a defensive sweep to keep them away from her and the front. Her relief from the airlock opening is short lived as the grating, scraping sound of metal containers scratching against the floor of the cargo hold draws her attention to the mass of tendrils and claws dragging itself towards the group. She feels a wave of unease rapidly drench her as her heart thrums in her chest. "I cannot defend us from that." She turns to the rest of the group. "Not here at least. Viper, to the exit. Now! Everyone else follow suit. I have you covered from these little freaks." Zaria moves to A4 and uses her action to get the hell out of the cargo hold.

"I am certain I could get him for you if you needed to speak to him. Again, he's been very busy what with all the items he's received today and that special project of his. Give me a moment." Meerabeau turns to knock on the large sliding bay doors to the workshop, shouting into it. The welding stops as a figure steps out into the chilly storage area and towards the party, his large shaggy beard and unkempt hair draping over his overalls and plaid shirt. He grins at the party. "Hoho! And who do we have here?" He laughs warmly as the tall O'Kor'Uk approaches the party, eyeing them over and taking them in. "Well, the adamite's name is B-3-R... something." "No need to worry yourself, Meerabeau." His deep yet kindly voice reassures the dwarf as he turns to the heroes. "Now then, who might you be? I am Mr. Fix-It, resident fixer upper of all manner of things. A pleasure to meet you."

Heroica: Glory Amongst The Stars - General Discussion

I have been busy with commission work, my day job, and family issues this past few days. The image for outside Fix-It's Workshop is up, and I'll have the inn up tomorrow. Thanks for being patient. -
Zaria directs Viper to C2 to fire at Sprout B. "Kirwin, behind me! Now!" Zaria downs a plasma potion and prepares for oncoming assault.
-
Zaria moves to D4 and readies herself for an initial attack, defending herself. "Kirwin, I'd advise you step back so Viper can stand where you are (C5) and take shots at these creatures when they approach us. Varen, I need you to step back. We need you capable of taking shots from a distance. We will be on the defensive here! Merei, ready yourself. We're going to need some supportive spellcasting."

They quickly find the metal building at the edge of town, the dirt surrounding the abode littered with various pieces of junk from metal drums to broken down farming equipment. Most of the crowds that were seemingly present have died down, a few joyful looking people milling about the area with pieces of equipment in their hands. A grungy young dwarven woman approaches the heroes and the professor wearing a welding apron also covered in grease. She speaks loudly over the sounds of welding coming from the building. "Welcome! Name's Meerabeau. Don't mind the mess, nothing in the lawn can hurt you. It might poke through your shoe, but... well... I can't help you there. I assume you're here to speak to Fix-It? He's been fairly busy today, but I'm certain he make room for you if need be."

Heroica: Glory Amongst The Stars - General Discussion
Kintobor replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in Heroica! The RPG!
Your spirit should actually be at 0. You don’t start the game with spirit you need to invest into it. As your mission master I’ll give you an option: you can respec that skill point now if you’d like, or take a spell. Since you likely have no skill proficiencies at correlate to spell-casting (arcana, religion, nature, etc.) you might wan to grab a new skill proficiency. -
Zaria draws her power khopesh as it whirs with power. A grim look dawns over her: vigilant and angry. "Viper, stay close. We move as one! Dean! On me!" She moves to B3 and with one motion strikes Duncan, aiming for the neck. She recites in elvish a last rite: a dirge for the deceased; a promise for peace on the final journey. She motions for Viper to move to B5 and Defend.
-
Zaria steps out of the way for Kirwin to do what they intended to do, but her hand stayed on the pommel of her sword. She looks over Merei with concern. ”I will be here if you need me.”
-
Zaria glances over at Duncan, a growing pit agitating her stomach. “What happened to him? I need an answer, and I need it now, Dean.”
-
Zaria carefully lowers herself down from the container she was standing on. Turning back and looking to Kirwin, she shakes her head in disapproval at using the flamethrower, a nervous look on her face.
-
"Well, you could always come with me. I do have something that needs to be fixed up. You can investigate Fix-It and ensure his safety, and I get to ensure my projector is fixed. Does this sound good to you?" Avgustus asks. Yelana Perception Check (DC: 1/3): (2,5,5,6 +2 Successes) 5 Successes As Yelana makes her way to Fix-It's Workshop, she notices Bers enjoying a drink with Mayor Cassandra as she cradles a purple dragon wyrmling in her arms. She notices the pair of human from before continue to loiter around. As Yelana makes eye contact with them, they turn around and continue to mill about. Bers Perception Check (DC: 1/3): (2,4,4) Two Successes Looking out into the crowd, Bers notices Yelana make her way down the packed road towards his direction. The mayor leans into Bers to whisper to him. "Hey, listen. If you want to return to your friend there I'm not going to stop you. Just promise me you and your group will stay out of trouble. This is a peaceful, quiet town. I'd like to keep things that way."
-
“Before you fire that thing off,” Zaria quietly motions to Kirwin with an outstretched hand as she motions to the flame thrower, “let me see if I can’t see this… creature a bit better.” Zaria creeps forward and attempts to stand on top of the nearest box, looking to get a better view of the area.
-
Zaria thought for a moment, weighing her options. "I do not like the thought of you being left alone. Come along." Zaria turns to Merei as she enters the room. "I am ready. Viper, stay close to me. My blade will keep you safe. Kirwin, do you have that blaster from the security chief still? I would at least like to offer it to Viper to give him something to protect himself with."
-
"Well, sentience is an interesting thing. I would be surprised if MILES was created using livecode, but it isn't unheard of. All adamites have been programmed with livecode instead of standard deadcode to give us sentience. It's what differentiates me from the driver of the bus. The bus driver was programmed to get him from point a to point b. I would need to have a program that simple to rely on." As Polaris describes the situation, Avgustus looks around, leaning into Polaris to speak in a hushed voice. "I have heard that Mr. Fix-It's a mechanical genius. He can fix watches, toasters, bicycles, you name it, he can fix it. This includes weapons from what I've heard." He lifts his hefty satchel up. "I have brought something for him to fix myself, but you believe this Mr. Fix-It is a criminal? Attempting to be poached? Under what pretenses do you believe so?"
-
Zaria looks to Viper. "Do you have any interest in coming along? I understand your dislike for Hart, but at this point either we all escape together or we all perish together. Can I count on you to at the very least allow us to keep you safe?" She asks the stowaway.
-
MM Note: Apologies, I actually did miss those. Yelana Perception Check (DC: 3): (2,4,4,5 +1 Success): Four Successes Looking into the crowd, Yelana manages to spot the duo moving through the crowd, following the flow of foot traffic as they loiter around stalls and eye the goods. Occasionally they turn back and look towards Yelana and Polaris, but never long enough that the average person would notice. They seem to be looking around not just at the heroes, but observing the festival in general. "Locals... I don't think so. Unless they just moved into town I've never seen them before. Of course, we get a lot of visitors to Knothole this time of year. Family, friends, people from some of the neighbouring communities: it's always packed. Not that it's a bad thing! I actually quite like the Harvest Festival. It's always so festive and everyone's in a merry mood!" The dwarf leans in to whisper. "Also, the sales aren't bad either." So, you get the benefit of buying the pastries immediately. The benefit of the croissant is that you receive a +1 success to your next skill proficiency check.

Zaria listens to Merei intently. As much as she was deeply disturbed by this creature, she was loathe to admit that the celestial had a point. "I suppose in a manner you have a point." Zaria's nostrils flare as she inhales, her anger tempering into steel. "Knowing more about this creature would be helpful. If someone intentionally attempted to sabotage this vessel with this creature then I want to know." She tightens her grip on her power-khopesh.
