  1. Thought of that. I'm back and forth between the Harry Potter and clenched teeth Dock Ock, but I don't like the green lenses.
  2. As for Toht, the Harry Potter head works better, minus the scar. Toht has a boyish face, and Potter's round glasses work well.
  3. Nope. SHe was in the white dress. The Cairo marketplace scene (red pants/white blouse with red trim) ended with her being abducted. She was still in that outfit when Indy discovered her in Belloq's tent. But before she escaped, she had changed into the white dress Belloq gave her. Then she was thrown into the Well of Souls. After escaping that, they went up against the plane. All while wearing that short white dress.
  4. Well, the Stolen Treasure set had fewer pieces that the Lost Tomb, but it still cost $10 more.
  5. Marion was in the Flying Wing scene. Remember, she knocked out the pilot and was trapped inside. The Wing was located just outside the Well of Souls. Without making a custom print, I think the head is one reuse that actually works. He looks pretty accurate there. The body needs definition, though. It's a photo of the movie plane in the background, not on the actual toy. Yeah, that part needs to be revised. It's not bad for a fuel truck. The truck wasn't all that different from the Desert Chase vehicle in the film. They were all in the same location to begin with. ALL of Willie needs to be changed. Obviously a temp figure. Right. He needs a tan hat. NY Yankees! Indy wasn't wearing glasses in this scene. He was wearing a white tux with black vest and a red flower. Also, no hat. That'd be nice. Those guns are pretty bad. They look pretty close to me. Well, when we saw the prelim box art for the first run, the sets pretty much stayed the same, even though all the figures changed. I'll bet the models are close to final, and all they are working on are the minifigs.
  6. Well, there wasn't a lot of foliage in the deserts of Tanis. But I would like to see more barrels, or even the shack that the mechanic comes out of. Yeah, it's Patrick's torso. On my custom, I say that they are blood spots.
  7. The torso I'm hoping for for the German Mechanic is Bane's but without the jumpsuit. He's got some good definition there.
  8. I'd rather have "correct" than "nice". I'm happy to have an Indy other than the standard, but if you're gonna do it, do it right!
  9. They totally stole my German Mechanic design!! Love the Shanghai chase set. The gangsters are cool. But the one with the glasses looks way too similar to the Toht I was planning to make. At least he has a black hat, so I don't have to paint one. The Indy outfit is all wrong. His tuxedo was white with black accents and a red flower. And he wasn't wearing a hat. Lego is cheapening out again on figure graphics. The Flying Wing is... less than I was expecting. I'll pick it up, because it's my favorite vehicle after the desert truck, but I'll be making some mods to it. I'm hoping these photos are the dummy layouts like they did with the last sets. The prelim art showed Spalko as an Imperial Soldier from Star Wars. *crosses fingers*
  10. Hey, if they turn out to be actual minifigs, and not just "statues" like before, I'll suck it up and eat there. Or, you could always try what I tried when the Bionicles came out: ask them to hold you a set. Sometimes they will. They set aside one of each for me, and I paid like a buck each for them. Also, if anyone is in the Southern California area, I'm sure you've heard of Frank & Sons. That place got its start as a place where McDonald's could sell off its extra Happy Meal toys, and the money all went to the RM House. Not a bad way to go.
  11. They were handing out free Joker and Batman minfigs as well. If you went to the DC, Lego, and Warner Brothers booths and played the demo Lego Batman video game, you got a portion of the Joker minifig. If you took the completed Joker to the WB redemtion desk, they gave you a Batman minifig and small display box. Cool thing was, we were able to take the same Joker minifig back the next day and score two more Batmen (which I gave to my cousins). A few years back, Lego gave out the TIE Fighter microscale set at their booth. I managed to score two of them that year. Sadly, most exhibitors are cutting back on the free swag they hand out, and Lego is included in that.
  12. $50 was the SDCC price. They were handing out raffle tickets each morning (and they went fast). If your ticket was marked, you had the opportunity to buy the set. Only 100 were sold each day. Any set not claimed by 5pm was sold to a line of people waiting for them. That's how I got mine.
  13. Ok, I've taken a few photos. Mods, forgive me if I post too many. I didn't see a limit in the rules. Basically, the set looks to be Indy going after a diamond above the skull, and falling through the leaves into a spike pit below. The only part that makes this a Crystal Skull set is the warriors. Otherwise, it's not specific to any movie. I have not yet put the decals on the ramps, but they are the same as the entrance to the Idol Temple. The Box - Top & Bottom The Bags The Instructions for the Temple - Front & Back The Set Close-up of the Spike Pit Before driving into the Trap After... The Extra Pieces
  14. Hey, all. I was lucky enough (if you can say that) to get set #419 of 500. I will try to post some detail shots in the next day or two. But in the meantime, I'd be happy to answer any questions about it. And no, it's not for sale. ;-) First off, the box is not sealed. No tape or anything, just two tabs. It can easily be opened without any damage or evidence. Be cautious if you buy one. Inside are two plastic baggies. The first is the Brickmaster Jeep set. The other is a Ziploc storage bag with the copyright info sticker on the front. Again, this bag is not sealed. You cannot tell if it has been opened. The instructions for the temple set (which has no listed name on any of the packaging) are on a large sheet folded over. The set's construction is pretty basic. Most of the pieces are reused from other Indy sets. The only ones new to Indy (as far as I can tell) are the Technic-looking arcs behind the skull. The sticker sheets are from the Idol Temple. I'm glad I got the set, but it is not worth $50. $30 would have been more reasonable.
