  1. Here in Ireland I've seen them in Byrnes and a couple of small independent shops. The one in New Ross had a big stand earlier in the year but they've got rid of it and are down to just half a dozen firefighters. Byrnes in Liffey Valley still had a reasonable selection (two weeks ago) along with some slightly larger sets from 2002!
  2. Ooh, yes please!
  3. That's great. The more I see of great builds like this the more likely it is that my efforts will seem very lame indeed! Well done and some really nice work in the rest of your Brickshlef folder too.
  4. Odd that they are showing up at €19.99 for the Irish store.
  5. Thank for the review. First time I've seen it up close and personal. Looks like it might be heading on to my list!
  6. Having placed a couple of S@H orders over the past few weeks I was wondering if that automatically qualifies you for a copy of the next (or previous) S&H printed catalogue. I'm presuming that such things do exist outside of the US here as I stumbled across what looked like a UK version on Bricklink earlier. Nothing life threatening, but I thought I'd ask anyway!
  7. Amazingly the speculators have moved in already. Can you believe the price that this seller is charging? eBay auction for Premium Collector copy
  8. Just a pair of Racers (4590) that seem to date back a few years. Great pull-back motor action! They had a few Vikings kits that I hadn't seen anywhere else and didn't realise were still generally available.
  9. I got mine in the post the other day and I have to say I was so impressed I ordered another one and a standard at the same time. Will probably pass one on to a friend and store the other one away.
  10. Thanks for the warm welcome. Scyzoryk - thanks, appreciate that - there needs to be an AFOL translation sticky page in the Forums! :-) rriggs - I'm living not too far from there near The Rower. Was in Dublin for ten years before and originally from Derbyshire. brickzone - thanks for that. I saw that in Windsor and again today in Byrnes in Waterford (which amazingly had stock that dates from 2002 sitting on it's shelves) I'll be plunging in at the deep end soon as my MOC takes shape! Graham
  11. Hi After probably 25 years of not handling a Danish designed brick, the arrival of our first son has triggered an upwards spiral into the World of Lego. Addicted as a child and then dismissive as an older teenager (these new computer things were far more interesting) I'm now seriously back in the fold. I'm, still struggling to comprehend all of the acronyms, I still can't work out what MOC means, but I'm starting my first one soon (our house). So please treat me gently and let me make a few mistakes as I meander around the forums making a fool of myself. For a start, is it OK to ask questions about how to achieve a certain look in a model, where to buy parts (especially bulk packs of things like roof tiles etc)? Anyway I hope to be able to contribute constructively (!) over the coming months. Take care Graham
  12. Good to see this thread here. Down here in the South East we're pretty restricted to Smyths and a few small retailers under the Toymaster brand. There is a Byrnes in Waterford but haven't ventured in there yet. As I'm getting in to the idea of actually building up a project rather than just buying kits I'm really interested to know how people increase their brick count - is it simply a matter of buying kits for the parts, Pick a Brick at S@H and Bricklink? Also, are there any good Lego groups in Ireland? Thanks Graham
  13. Yes please!
  14. My first post. Great idea for the raffle, I'd love to get hold of that. One query. I did PM but haven't had a confirmation - should I be expecting one? Thanks Graham
