  1. Detailed and thorough reviews as always. Looking forward for the Rally car one. By the way, did you remove the reviews of some of the smaller Technic sets on your website?
  2. That seems to explain it. Who knew one limited edition set would set off such a high demand for this part.
  3. My only guess is that it's in high demand, but if you compare this part with, say 98592 (Hero Factory Shoulder / Knee Armor), which some colors have only appeared in 2-3 sets (purple only appeared in 1!), 98592 sells for around ~35 cents, rarely going over 50 cents. Parts like 98593 (Hero Factory Shoulder Armor, Sonic Speaker) only appeared in one set, and sells for under $2. Is 92222 really that heavily used? I feel like I've never seen any MOCs that make heavy use for that part.
  4. More specifically, in colors such as Black, Flat Silver, or Pearl Dark Gray. If you scout Bricklink for these parts, they sell for at least $5 a piece and go as high as $10. Sets that contain this part will sell for a significantly higher price than similar sets without (ex. Compare Bulk 3.0, which has 2 of those parts in Pearl Dark Gray, with all other 3.0 Heroes). This has always baffled me, and hope someone can clarify this. I was in my dark ages when Hero Factory came out, and am currently trying to recollect the sets, and this question just came up.
  5. Hmm, did not know that the exclusive number was for digital content. Anyways, thanks for the advice. I'll look forward for the reviews once the set comes out before buying it.
  6. Functionality aside, has TLG made any remarks about the quantity of this set being released. Based on the remark that each set as an unique plate, I'm under the impression that this set will be similar to the 41999, which was sold out quite quickly (and then resold on the secondary market for inflated prices), so if you wanted to buy one directly from TLG, you had to do so right away. I'm still contemplating whether I should make this set a first-day buy or not given the price and the possible issues with the gearing. So I guess the question is, if you waited a week or so after release to buy it, will all these sets be sold out from TLG?
  7. Huh, that's pretty interesting. I always assumed sellers always had some knowledge of what pieces were to be shipped. Shouldn't those broken pieces have been discarded in the first place if the seller had no intentions of selling them? Thank you for your suggestion. I'm still waiting for a reply from the seller.
  8. The parts were properly packed and shipped. I do understand that most parts that broke were from an era where sockets breaking was a huge issue, but the seller literally shipped me broken parts, not parts that broke after I assembled them (even afterwards, a few of the non-broken pieces broke after I assembled them). This does feel strange because the seller had a 1000+ positive feedback score from buyers and literally no negative feedback.
  9. Hmm, thanks for your thoughts. I already asked the seller for a partial refund. It seems like people agree that parts with broken sockets should not be sold without remarks.
  10. Hello everyone, It has been a while since I've been on Eurobricks, but I do want to hear your thoughts about this topic. I recently received an order of Bionicle parts on Bricklink, only to discover that about 80% of Bionicle joints I ordered were broken at the socket (yes, the were broken before I assembled them to anything)! Although these parts were marked as "used" (the store only had used versions), the seller by no means made any remarks about the sockets being broken. I find this quite ironic because the reason why I had bought those parts were precisely to replace parts I already owned which were broken. Most of the parts I brought were from 2008 (which were already prone to breakage) and included Bionicle Foot Claw with Ball Socket Bionicle Arm / Leg Upper Section (Solek) and Bionicle Head Connector Block (Av-Matoran) What are your thoughts about this? Would you consider it unreasonable to ask the seller for a partial refund of these parts? Should sellers on Bricklink sell broken Bionicle joints without making a remark about those parts? For those who are curious, the store I brought from had 1000+ positive feedback from selling, and did not have any history of negative feedback.
  11. Thank you all for your comments. I tried to make this quite swoosh-able, especially since the main model wasn't very.
  12. Some of their older reviews are torturous to watch- they don't plan out the review very well, aren't very knowledgeable about Lego in general, and do a poor job of showing a set/demonstrating the functions. Their studio is also not very great (lack of white surface and background don't show the full details of Lego sets). That being said, they are reliable if you just want to see a review, as they have reviewed many rare sets, but if you want a quality review, find someone else. However, recently, they have stepped up their quality (especially Jason).
  13. That's my point. I'm not sure whether the Chrome Vader promotion affected all 2009 SW sets or just a select majority. Since this one was Limited Edition, it might have been excluded from the promotion.
  14. Great review. Overall a great set, if only it wasn't for the price. Btw, I was wondering if the chrome darth vader promotion applies to this set because this is a limited edition set?
  15. Thank you. This took me a few hours to make. It's basically built on a frame made out of the Technic liftarms. The original ship lacked many pieces typically used in building the foundation.
  16. Frustrated with the flimsiness and fragility of the original set, I was able to build this set out of the pieces of the 5971 Gold Heist spaceship only. Apparently, the head turned out a little bit like a dog, so I named it "The Dogfighter"! It has two freeze rays up front. The pilot fits in there just fine, but isn't attached by any studs. Eventually, with the leftover pieces, I was able to build this stand, which looks like the body of a dog. The ship sits there just fine. Hope you like it!
  17. Depends on the kind of piece. If it's a chrome piece, then the seller might be able to take regular pieces and chrome them him/herself. If its a minifigure or just an unique mold, the seller MIT have bought the piece individually on another site. Either that, or the seller might have bought lots of sets containing that piece. Probably a cheap set if that's the case.
  18. Question- just how does the spring loaded launcher work? Are you supposed to flick it or something?
  19. If you're serious in Lego investing, check out www.brickpicker.com. Honestly, though, some members on Eurobricks dislike Lego investors as they simply buy Legos for the cash, and don't care about the values and characteristics of playing with Legos. I, personally think that this is a pretty good idea.
  20. Sorry about my last post. Anyways, here's my entry- a Technic sled You can adjust the height and angle of it by twisting a gear in the back.
  21. Can someone help me upload a picture if the picture is a JPEG image on Window Photo Gallery?
  22. Thank you, but it wasnt quite what I'm looking for. The rattling sound comes from inside the arm piece itself. The body is perfectly fine. I know that the rattling sound isnt suposed to be there because I have the Tremorox and Eruptorr figures, and they dont have the rattling sound.
  23. Hello Eurobricks, I recently purchased an used 8709 Underground Mining Station set. The Geolix minifig however, seems to have some loose parts in both arms because there is a rattling sound everytime I play with it. Does anyone have any pictures on what the arm parts look like inside or instructions on how I can break them open? Any reply would be very much appreciated.
  24. Nice review. Love the comic at the end. I was wondering, does the brain piece of the commander (or android) fall off when you turn its head? The brain on mine tends to loosen up and eventually fall off. I was wondering who else had the same problem.
  25. I am unsure if this is the right place to post this, but I think Lego should make a reinforced "Technic Axle Joiner Perpendicular" (part 6536). Has anyone ever had the problem of these pieces breaking along the axle hole after a few uses? I know that these pieces have been around for at least a decade and I can't seem to find anyone with this issue.
