  1. Hi there Eurobrickians, As you know, I make stop-motion animations in my free time and post them here and other places over the internet. As always, I am working on my latest project, "Robots!", but I need help funding it (I emptied out my savings making the last one ). I have started a project on Kickstarter to try and raise some money. Any donation is appreciated, but certain levels come with cool rewards (like a little LEGO robot, a copy of the finished DVD, a cool poster printed using LEGO bricks, etc.) Please check out the project and give if you are so inclined. Thanks!
  2. Very bizarre. I didn't really follow the plot, but I enjoyed the mysterious elements.
  3. Thanks for sharing this. I love these LEGO Click! films, but hadn't seen this one yet. I'd love to make something like this someday...
  4. Ditto for me. I do hope we hear something back eventually. I don't know if they intend to include us in any other parts of the story process, but it'd be nice to know what they think short of possibly seeing one of these ideas on the shelves in a few years.
  5. That's great work for your first brickfilm! I think you do a good job of moving the characters as they speak. I would suggest using more light (I use desk lamps) the picture is coming out very dark. I think it would also be helpful if you had a few different people record the voices. Right now it is hard to tell the characters apart because they all sound the same. You should ask your family or friends to help you out - that way each character will have their own voice. Good luck!
  6. Thanks for the compliments! I've been stockpiling Orange (and Green) for a couple years now, ever since I decided that i was going to stage a war between Orange and Green. I picked up Orange brick from pick-a-brick, bought sets just because they had cool orange pieces, and every bricklink order i made I would check out the store's orange section for cool pieces. Even still, this project tested the limits of my orange, especially the slopes. The grey was not specifically acquired, but it does represent most of the grey (and bley) basic brick from a LEGO collection that's older than I am. Because I desaturated all the non-orange colors in the video, it's harder than normal to tell them apart.
  7. This actually happened a couple months ago (but I only just noticed cause I'm slow), but I finally got my first title! Motion Sensing Banana - because I built my LEGO wiimote into a banana - I'm pretty sure Siegfried did it. I think it's an apt title regardless of the circumstances, my banana is pretty sensitive to motion
  8. I'm sure this needs no explanation
  9. Very cool! You have some great camera movement in this and I love the opening shot of him running toward the camera. Keep up the good work!
  10. Yeah, my guess is that the red separator cost too much so they went with the cheapo wrench (though it works well)
  11. My friends ordered me one of these and it came yesterday. I turned it in to a red and yellow banana. It didn't come with a red brick separator, just the little wrench like the board games do. The banana wiimote is fully functional, I built in the appropriate holes:
  12. Next is a commercial about a robot factory. Here's the main character: The war between Green and Orange rages on and will surface again soon. However if you look carefully, you'll find a couple instances of green and orange things destroying one another in this episodes. Phil and Sherry are indeed a couple. The are practically inseparable.
  13. After a several month hiatus while I got the Chapter 1 DVD together, attended Brickworld and BrickCon, and moved into a new apartment I finally have released the first episode of Chapter 2! Now that my life has calmed down a little I hope to get back to putting out about one video a month. Stay tuned loyal viewers!
  14. That all sounds good to me. I was wondering just last night if this game would ever finish. I think there was a lot of energy in the first few chapters, but as the time between chapters increased and the number of players decreased, there was more burden placed on the remaining players to solve the mysteries. It was difficult to keep track of everything that had happened and to know what was relevant, I was keeping a word document with what I thought were important developments, but even then I found myself going back and wading through the old chapters a lot. Maybe starting off each chapter with a recap of the major story events would be useful (though obviously more work for the DM). I think that another thing that happened was, because so many of the mysteries were puzzles that had to be solved before the team could progress, people tended to fixate on the individual puzzles and loose sight of the overarching mystery. So I think people got complacent and let the game be more of an on-rails experience, rather than splitting up and figuring things out on their own more. I guess that's a pretty tough thing to balance though. One specific example of this is the overview pictures for each room. In addition to the picture Hinckley would often give a descriptive paragraph that highlighted certain features of the picture. People tended to focus on the features that got mentioned rather than looking closely at the picture for suspicious stuff. Maybe if the scenes were presented just as pictures there'd be more of a focus on looking for clues, rather than just solving the puzzle of the moment. It's a thought. Don't get me wrong, I loved the puzzles and all the funny comments from the "voice in the sky" and generally was having a great time plying the game. I'm just trying to come up with some suggestions about how the next mystery game could be improved that are more than just "the DM should not have a busy life."
  15. You are nitpicking, but I had the exact same thoughts as I watched it. Also, how did the Protoss player get carriers so quickly? Those inconsistencies aside, this video does an excellent job at capturing the feel of Starcraft.
  16. I finished this a couple months ago, but I wasn't able to post in on youtube until now because of a contest I was entering. For more about how I made it check out my personal website or the flickr gallery. Hope you like it!
  17. This will be my first time attending BrickCon. I've been to Brickworld 4 years in a row and that's been wonderful, but I'm really looking forward to meeting a whole new swath of fans and seeing totally different stuff. I'm really anxious to register, but they still don't seem to have the site ready for that... It's hidden on the community building page. "The overall Theme for BrickCon 2010 is "Tales of the Brick!" This taps into the idea that everything built by a LEGO enthusiast (of any age) tells a story. This means that MOCs all have Tales to tell. Tell your Tale at BrickCon 2010!"
  18. This was my 4th Brickworld (3rd registered) and it was a very different experience than the other three. This was the first time I was there as a vendor and figuring out some of those issues took up a lot of my energy this weekend. For instance, the DVDs I was selling didn't arrive until Friday afternoon, and I then had to leave the convention and drive to the South Side to pick them up, got caught in traffic and the crazy thunder storm and therefore missed most of Friday afternoon . So that was a bummer, but the event itself was incredible. I wrote up a little post about my Brickworld experience for the NNN website. I got to meet a few AFOLs who I only knew through the internet and spend a little time with friends from past years (though not as much as I would have liked!) and got to marvel at some truly incredible creations. It was also my first time being at the event with my Non-LEGO Significant Other and that ended up being a great experience too. I ate more real meals and had someone to share the excitement (and that frustrating drive ) with and he seemed to enjoy himself as well so that's all good. So, yes, another good year and I already find myself thinking about 2011.
  19. I'm bringing a lot of different things this years as I am an attendee, a vendor and a sponsor. On the MOC side I'll have a bunch of the sets I use for animating, a couple Pinchbot ships, the Court of King Octopus, a bunch of Orange and Green models fighting one another and some of the sculptures from my latest animation: Metamorphosis. At my vendor table I'll be selling NNN DVDs. I'll have 2-3 computers for viewing animations, one dedicated to the DVD, another looping Metamorphosis and possibly a third with a wide variety of animations selectable. Can't wait!
  20. Less than two weeks! I'll bet there's a lot of frantic last minute building going on right now. I still need to figure out how I'm going to add lights to my MOCs...
  21. Is William awake? Or did we leave him unconscious in the other room again? I don't want him to get away before we question him.
  22. Hey everybody! The wait is over! You can now purchase Chapter 1: New Beginnings on DVD!! Go to the CreateSpace store and order a copy for $8 (+S&H). I will also be bringing copies to Brickworld in June and BrickCon in September, if you want to buy them in person and save on shipping. Woohoo! Tell your friends! For more details about the DVD contents check out the post on the main NNN website.
  23. Some of you may remember when I posted some WIP shots of my various Pinchbot creations a while back. Now I've polished them up for my upcoming animation and the "Put your Brick Where your Mouth Is" contest. Enough backstory, on with the creations! For the $5 category: Pinchbot Battle Pack 48 pieces Includes: 1 Grabbor - Pinchbot Leader 1 Pinchbot 1 Mini-Pinchbot In the $50 category: Pinchbot Landingbot Someone here suggested that I turn the head into a cockpit, so I wanted to show that off: 436 pieces Includes 2 Pinchbot Pilots and 4 Pinchbots for maximum invasion! The eyes open up to reveal the dual cockpit. The front panel hinges down to unleash 4 stored Pinchbots. And finally, in the $20 category: Microscale Pinchbot Mothership 199 pieces Includes 4 Microscale Pinchbot Landingbots that fit snugly inside the central column. It has pinching arms that can fold back for sleek hi-speed travel. Check out the full gallery for more pictures
  24. Started animating this weekend. Here's what I've got so far. And here is a shot that shows the next transition I will be doing. I am running out of red and black bricks!
  25. Hey everybody! I'm frantically trying to make an animation for this contest. My idea is to show all the different things that lego bricks can become. So it's going to be a series of objects morphing into each other. It's all sculptures made of basic bricks, which I haven't done a lot of. I built all of these in the past week and was hoping to get some feedback from all of you. An apple and a person: A droopy flower: A lighthouse, a car (not so great), and a butterfly: And last, but certainly not least, the LEGO logo! Let me know what you think! Thanks so much!
